I have not been christain for too long.

A month. Maybe.

And all I have seen are hurtful, bitter, hateful, judgemental people.

Show me that there are christains out there who are open minded.

Who are Okayye with gayys.

Who love everyone.

Who aren't so **** conservative. Show me people who are truely christlike.

I'm looking for people who's hearts are full of love.

Not people who jugde others.

Maybe I'm better off as an aethiest/buddhist again.

Sigh. <3.

FACT-

Christ did not say "Oh... You're a prostitute! You just keep on doing what you're diong, ok?"

He said, "You are a prostitute, and it is WRONG and a SIN against ME. Follow me and REPENT of your ways."

Did Christ not love them? Of course not. But he DID note that they were sinners, and longed for them to repent of their ways ~_o

Who am I to judge someone? I am a sinner too

I only speak what the Bible says. I never want to divert my eyes of it.

If it says that God hates homosexuality, then I fully agree with her.

I know a pastor who was gay. He said that gays who go to evangelical church are merely hated. He said this because he was one. He knows the reality of them.

Indeed, we Christians have many prejudices against them. I have this horrible feeling against the homosexual. And I know that I am denying the Word of God by hating them.

I must love the sinner, but i have to reject his sin.

Anybody that's openly, or even secretly, disobeying the word of God with ns sense of repentance has no business preaching in the name of God. I know we all sin, but preachers are supposed to be an example. Sure, they can mess up to, but do not say "I'm sinning, but ya know what? I'm gonna call it OK. Some people are just gay."

Now, just as a little background, I do NOT hate gay people. In fact, some of my closest friends a few years ago were 'gay" people. I honestly think they were just trying to strike at society by being "different," but regardless, they were my friends. I didn't ridicule and curse them or anything, but I did NOT support their decisions. Also, I could correct them VERY quickly if they were Christians telling anyone, "Oh, it's OK to be gay," because it VERY clearly contradicts the word of God.

tl;dr- Don't hate, but disapprove.

Forgive me. I didn't mean that I hate them. I just don't approve of their lifestyle, because it is contrary to the Word of God.

See how I am a sinner.

I didn't think you DID hate them. You just mentioned a gay pastor that received hate, and honestly, I believe it was rightfully so. A pastor should NOT profess to be gay, just as much as he should profess to being a drug addict, murderer, or even someone who cheats on taxes. If so, he should be stripped of pastoral position, because he has clear issues with God that he needs to work out before he should be teaching the Word of God ~_o

It's just the way your worded it, it seemed like you DID approve. I'm sorry I misunderstood lol.

Ya know what? I read it closes. You said WAS gay. I'm guessing he repented, and that's why he's a pastor today, but he just had experience BEING a day, so he knows what they face from Christians?

Ok, I'm all clear now ~_o

When describing past things, try to use "used to be' instead of "was," especially when everything you're saying is past tense anyway =P

I saw my grammatical error now.

I'm sorry. I'm just a Brazilian. I try to improve my English every day.

The part of the "tense" is what most bothers me in your language. The rest is very easy.

I think I'll read the English grammar tomorrow x). Just to recall.

Oh, no. It was correct, just a tad on the confusing side in the particular context ~_o

It makes perfect sense, your English is fine. I didn't even realize you're foreign, so that definitely tells that you know English pretty well ^_^

TC wants to see people who are loving, but doesn't see the difference between hating and disapproval.

For example- A child could go out and sleep around. The parents find out. They are furious, ground the child, and impose all sorts of other restrictions. Are the parents HATING the child because of their promiscuous lifestyle? Aren't they being a little intolerant?

Of course not. BECAUSE of the parents' love for the child, they did all they could to stop their sin and send them in the right direction. Of course, the way this is done varies from person to person, and situation to situation. Acting this drastically to, say, stealing a piece of candy would do more harm than good in a teenager.

Anyway, main point is you don't have to be overly tolerant to be loving. Love the sinner, hate the sin ~_o

Megann, welcome to Christian Chat. I am sorry to hear the frustration in your post. Unfortunately, as a new Christian you will continue to see a lot of hateful, judgemental "Christians" because the last thing the devil wants is another soul going to heaven. No, everything can't be blamed on the devil, but have no doubt that you will be attacked more now than before, and it is very important to read God's word daily! I have been on a rollercoaster ride since accepting Jesus Christ in 1993. When I feel closest to the Lord, waking up and going to sleep with Him on my mind and praying to Him, those are the times when I am tested the most. Also the more we influence others, we often get attacked as well. Please take to heart that those "christians" who are so filled with hate and hurtful, judgemental words are most likely not true christians. Keep in mind there is nothing more destructive to a new believer than false believers. Keep faith, Megann and Keep in His word! God Bless you!

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

If you are a christian, you will not be open minded about gays. God is quite clear on this subject. It sounds to me like you need to get into your bible more. I'll be praying for you.

Thank you to all of you who are praying for me.
But my views on the subject of homosexuality are bound to stayy the way they are.
I believe that you cannot change being homosexual.
My brother is a beautiful human being, my best friend and a devout christain and he is gay.
And I love him all the same. I can't say if it's wronng or not.
It's not my right to say so. If God says its wrong then it probably is, but I can't stop loving my brother.

No one has said to stop loving him! Jesus loves us all and we are thiefs, murderers, liars, fornicators, homosexuals, etc.... We are to still love, but love doesn't mean agreeing. In fact it takes more love to point out someones wrongs than it does to tell them what they want to here. I can GUARANTEE that he is not a devout Christian IF and I am saying IF he is continuing in his homosexual ways. God requires that we turn from our sin and pick up our cross. I will be praying for you and your bother. We are required to HATE the things God hates and love the things God loves. God Bless you.

I just wanted to add here that you probably won't find any Christians who are "okay with gays." (As in accepting the sin of homosexuality) However! There is a difference b/t hating gays and treating them like they aren't worth anything... and just knowing that gays are sinners just like the rest of us and we should treat them like we treat everyone else (this is being tolerable and realizing they are just like us). The second way is how Christians should be. We shouldn't, however, go up to a gay person and tell them they are a sinner and in need of a Savior... we should instead love them and treat them like everyone else... and once we gain that trust we can talk to them about God. It's one of many things you can overcome with God! 'Cause "with God all things are possible!" :)

MeganneCheers,

I'm so sorry about your bad experiences with closed minded Christians. There are a lot of wonderful people out there that dont judge on the bat. Unfortunatly when it comes to CC there are a lot of strong oppinions and they can be interpreted as hurtful.
I think that in order to be Christ-like we need to leave the judging to Him. We do need to correct them, but with a loving hand. This means loving the person who sins but telling them the straight facts. Just ignore the over zelous and poorly tact. I do.

My uncle is gay. I don't approve of it, but im not gonna bash them or anything. All I have to do is pray for him. God still loves him,but not what he does. I often wrestle with this situation to. I treat them like any other person, all sins are equal and we are all sinners. why treat someone differently? All you can really do is share God with them, and pray for them.
