Men are taught not to say what they are feeling. They're just as sensitive, they just dont say anything about it.
Yes -- So much to the extent that most of us can't even form proper sentences (or find the appropriate words) to best describe these feelings.

First of all, I haven't seen the show much at all. However, this video shows what I think.

There are women in the church... and men too (more so women from my experience) who want to avoid the idea of God's judgment on sin or hell. When you tell people about the gospel.... God's judgment is unavoidable. God's judgement is either implied or you may have to explain it when you tell people that Jesus loved you enough to die on the cross. Jesus dying on the cross for people... implies he died for a reason. That reason is because he had to take people's punish because of their sin.

Yet, often there's this sensitive, romantic, love only, no judgment gospel that some women and men seem to think is the way to go.

I believe it's because such people want to be on the good side and make everyone happy instead of telling them God's word in full.

I also think this is very dangerous as it doesn't give the full word of God and may make a false religion if God's judgment on sin is never talked about.

Thoughts?

Again... I haven't seen the show much at all. However, this video shows what I think.

You really cant generalize. I have female pastors in my family and they are very straightforward about the Word. Im getting my backside kicked on another thread because I believe the Bible supports capital punishment. Im being told how heartless I am.So apparently not all woman have this affliction.

Would be nice, if those accusers would stick to discussing Scripture -- rather than attacking your character. :/ Sorry Kayla -- it's frustrating, I know.

Well most open-air preachers do nothing but yell condemnations at people and set a terrible example for christians. Like chastizing people never is going to win them to Christ. Instead youre just pushing them away.

Ive done many open airs over the years. Some do go on a rant and that does little good. But you should always present the plan of salvation while you have their attention.

I agree that you should. The ones that used to come on my college campus would instead go off on rants about the reasons everyone was going to hell, like smoking, homosexuality, drinking, music, short shorts, baggy pants, holding hands, etc. And it seems like most the ones you hear about are the same. PLus I don't think even a good open air preacher is necessarily the most effective way.

Quick. List the ten best writers of all times! Go!

Done yet? No? Then keep going!

Got it?

Okay, now look at that list.

How many women on it?

Bzzzz. Wrongo. Men are perfectly capable of expressing themselves. And women are perfectly capable of telling them why there wrong sentence by sentence.
(Notice my angelic smiley is talking nonstop? lol)

Naive question alert:
What's an open-air preacher? Never heard the phrase before, and I'm picturing the guy waving a worn KJV on the street corner yelling at folks passing by to either repent or the end is near.

Nah. We just give up on you west coasters thinking quietly, "He takes too long to answer." lol (Referring to a past off-topic discussion we had about what I kept thinking my cousins down south did.)

I concur!

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Funny story. In a town we went to we did an open air.We were singing so we had speakers, mics, mixer, the whole nine.Across the street, literally was an old guy, dont even know if he was a preacher, screaming at some young girls going down the street that they were going to hell for wearing shorts.Well when we started up of course he could even be heard. It was pretty funny. He hollered our way for a while and moved on. They got a different message from us and the music attracted people attention. We gave testimonies of our past, had a good time.Dont know where the screaming preacher went but he'd have to go a long way not to hear our singing.lol

Yes,it can be that.We use to do open air but did music and testimony style.Share the plan of salvation. But you do get some nut cases out there that just like to hear themselves talk.Hard to quiet those types.

Actually the ones hubby remembers he went up to and asked questions. He didn't like the answers, but then again he asked questions because he already hated God. After he was saved, he joined some on the street corners preaching the word. It was the beginning of the Jesus Movement. It worked -- often. I mean no one was telling girls in mini skirts they're going to hell because of the mini skirts, but they were telling them about God... and it worked. Over and over again it worked. And then the quiet, conservative, middle-class churches had a rude awakening. The hippies, addicts, and hookers descended to find out about this God they just heard about on a street corner.

Always encouraging to hear about a believer being full of love and zeal for the Lord. I like that. Helps me. Thank you for sharing that atwhatcost.
