There was a world wide flood, do you know how i know there was.

Because God said there was in the Word of God.

Woe to those in this generation that believes the words of men over the Word of God. There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

^i^ just responding

I see alot of talk about Dr. Kent Hovind. I have noticed that the people who say he's a fraud say it because of his stand on Creation not because he stood up to the IRS. I am set to defend the gospel. I truly believe that the world is less then 6,000 years old and that is what the Bible clearly teaches, imo. Comments?
I don't know how old the earth is. Geology suggests it is millions of years old, but the Lord could easily have created a planet that appeared to be millions of years old, when actually it was less than 6,000 years old.

Why would God create false signs of age like many simple life forms in the rock layers, ice layers, asteroids impact craters etc?
Earth is old or is not. Young earth with signs of billions of years... why?

I would like to know what makes people think the world "looks old"...???

Simple life forms are still around. What makes anyone believe that they should not be?

People think the world "looks old" because they have had 'evolution' beat into their minds all of their life.

Stop looking at the world from an evolutionist point of view and start looking at it from a Biblical point of view -- and it will all make sense... ;)

God did not create false signs of age -- man did - through their 'evolution' teaching...

The 'signs' of "billions of years" was created by man and is promoted by man.

And more (without rebuttal):
Evidence against a recent creation - RationalWiki

And young earth creationsts arguments rebuttal:
101 evidences for a young age of the Earth and the universe - RationalWiki

There is no clear answer these days, I think. Even Bible can be interpreted both with old and young Earth without significant problems.
What you have to realize is that these 'indicators' are based on bad assumptions and deliberately-falsely-determined ( "made up" ) 'facts'.

Please see the 'Creation Seminar' web page linked to in my signature.

I have seen many discussions and teachings and proofs of young earth crationism, old earth creationism, day-age theory, gap theory, theistic evolution etc. and their rebuttals.

I have come to conclusion that in these days we just dont know for sure, yet. We must wait for truth to be revealed. Bible can be interpreted in all these ways without losing your salvation.

Currently, I believe in an old Earth and young humanity, but if Abraham lived only several generations after such catastrophic flood, there would be really huge proofs of that... and they dont seem to be there. So we just need to wait. Truth will be revealed.

I don't know why. I'm just pointing out he could do that if he wished.

Yes... and maybe all the universe is just an illusion or hollographic projection or just a chess board for puppets (C.S. Lewis) or... who knows... we will know after death :)

God is in charge, thats the main thing to know.

Sometimes I wonder why the Lord would have waited around billions of years until earth was ready to support human life. That would support the idea everything happened just like the Bible said it happened. As for why the Lord would have made the earth appear to be millions of years old - well, if that's what he did, he had a good reason. Yes?

I am pretty sure God did not have to "wait", because He is not in time :) For Him dinosaurs are still present, future and past together and always were.
Modern physics seems to prove that time and space are very relative according to position of observer and his movement.

I hadn't thought of that. The universe is supposed to be 14 billion years old. That would be a long wait for me. Maybe he is able to speed up time. I have no problem with the notion that he created a world that appeared to be much older than it really is, though.

I do not know, if its problem or not. Bible says God cannot lie, its impossible for Him.
The question is, is it lie/trick/deceiving/forgery when you make something new and fashion it to look ancient? :)

If he created a universe that was much younger than it appeared, he might have done it for a reason other than tricking us. And I have no problem with the Lord tricking me, if it's done for my own good. I don't equate that with lying.
