Guys this is not answering the simple question. We are called to live a particular type of life in a particular way.
There are principles behind them, and desires for good reason to follow.

There is sin to confront.
So your own sin means nothing? we just have to worry about everyone elses sis? Your proving your legalism, as your holding yourself above others. and not humbling yourself.

James said it best, Break the least of all commands (and the sins you want us to condemn someone for are certainly NOT the least of All Gods commands) and your found guilty of the whole law.

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
Matt 18:15
Um, Your not asking or showing us how we should go to a brother or sister in sin, Your asking us if the person is saved or not. You doubt they are even a brother or sister. So be honest with yourself and us, Your example does not fit. Your trying to be sneaky and it is backfiring on you.
You have to take a moral stand, set a list of principles. It sounds to me like just because of this particular argument you are saying you would leave them alone. I do not think so. So how are you going to enforce discipline in the body?
We have taken a moral stand, It is called the law We have to be perfect. I have failed I guess you have not? SO you are able to judge others?

We are called to separate ourselves from those who choose to sin and refuse to resolve the issue. Where is your conversation?
Jesus must not have gotten the memo, He went to drunks tax collectors and prostitutes..

if we all do as you want us to do. no one could get saved,
they would never hear the good news because we would have to be separate

The church is in sin separating itself from giving the gospel to sinners. afraid it will get stained, It is afraid of it because it has no faith.

Have some faith dude, You will never be tempted when you have faith and look in love to these sinners.

The word 'ABIDE' means to 'hold to' or to 'acknowledge', so saying abiding in Christ every day is indicating, IMO, you appear to think similar to some on here who believe salvation has a revolving door

Reading your posts, I think you do side more with the op...I think you are being very selective with your words and rather guarded with your answers

I remember posting in an op you started some weeks back, and you were definately all for the observance of the OT...saying ALL the words of God are still in effect

I'm wondering what's going on exactly...I don't think you are mixed up or unsure...certainly not from what I remember of the op I mentionned
I have made 6 threads. This is for all to see just a glimpse of my concerns and beliefs. Are they against the grace of God and the salvation of Christ Jesus?

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me[SUP].[/SUP]I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

This is a quote from John 15:4-9

"The CJB says ... "

I knew it.
I usually use the NASB. Sometimes the KJV, the AENT, and then the CJB. I have found no difference or contradictions in them all. Is the CJB your only Bible because it says? It's not my only reference.

It's a horrible translation. Very dishonest.

I like the CJB too Shoshanna, sometimes I do verse comparisons in my own studies and I find it to bring a lot of clarity.

Although KJV is my choice bible, I've never found any conflict in the CJB in doing verse comparisons.

Obviously you have read it. Can you cite any scriptures that are very dishonest? That will help me if you can present something. I hope you have a copy of that translation at hand.

Maybe if you quit assuming your job is to slam balls into others it wouldn't be such a fun game to you.
You're absolutely the last person to make such a statement. Your soul reeks of hostility and you prove it by constantly throwing daggers at people in an extremely unrighteous manner, all of it in an effort to quell your inner storm. But I digress. Now back to our regularly scheduled program -- grace.

Ya. It's like the NASB in that it reads more like the way we talk unlike the KJV. I use other translations as the KJV is sometimes confusing, especially the prophets. I use maps also to identify locations and what they might represent concerning prophecy, and what God told the prophets concerning His righteous judgments of the peoples that lived there at the time. It can be very enlightening at times, and causes a person to dig a little deeper into this or that.

So your own sin means nothing?
Ok. If you want to change a simple point it is up to you but it is not a discussion, it is literally meaningless.

A child in a nursery takes a toy off another child. As a parent you have to go in and ask the child to give it back.
It is at a simple level basic care and morality.

The fact you are not even prepared as an adult to discuss how morality in a christian community works means I loose respect for you. You are not proving anything to me other than just being stupid. Do you really think avoiding issues actually answers them.

Let me put it more simply. You meet a stranger. They could be a threat. So there are social rules which tell you it is safe and predictable. These rules matter, because it is how we define culture. Christians equally have their own culture, but you are in denial of it.

I know when I find a question that matters, you cannot answer it without admitting the position you hold is meaningless.
Thank you for admitting defeat.

God bless you, brother.

Just curious. Is there any scripture references that say we are saved by
"grace alone" or
"faith alone?" It has to be somewhere according to all the posts on this thread, but I cannot find a substantial phrase saying that we are "saved by grace alone." We are defiantly saved by grace however.

But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.”

even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Admit defeat? Nah, Its not about me, Its about God.

But hey, When your ready to stop excusing your own sin, And think your better than others, And you want to talk about the gospel. And not how to judge sinners, of which none of us are qualified, let me know. and we can talk.

It is curious that the Messianic congregations that lift the Torah higher than the Gospel are gung ho about Stern's translation.

I might be seeing this wrong but.... I am not called to live a particular way.

I am called to know who I am in Christ.

If I try to live in my strength, a particular way?...That again is self efforts that will fail. Or also known as self righteous works.

I am called to know who I am in Christ and he will live his life through me.

“Because the God who said, Out of darkness light shall shine, is the One who shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us.”—2 Corinthians 4:6-7

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
