I think that kind of set up leads to everyone having a part to contribute...,, There are times for one person to teach and that is good but that is just one side of the coin.

1 Corinthians 14:26 (NASB)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
I would not say that much, I believe Sunday is more for unbelievers than believers, a way to expose them to the church, and for new people to walk in who are investigating, I would not want that day to be a day of confusion.

it states in the first day of the week, they read from the word. Bible study from one of the elders should be the base of any sunday service, But of course some praise and worship songs are always good. and alot of corporate prayer..

I know the church I first went to after being born-again had sunday nights as their evangelistic focus. I suppose everyone's tradition is different..

I wonder how many people get saved in church or outside of church.

Foe me it was outside....others?

For me, "baptized" in the church building, but "persuaded" by months of friends outside the building spending huge amounts of time with me.

We really are just about the opposite.
We offer prayer and healing, and do a ton of worshiping (singing), but the actual "gospel message" is probably only "preached" from our pulpit, maybe three times a year. Most of our Sunday teaching is directed toward the members, and how they need to be thinking and acting toward others. The preacher knows that the visitors are going to be very fully embraced by the membership, and that most of them will be either going out to eat with one of our families, and/or that they are being invited to one of our 15 small group studies throughout the week. One of those is the one he leads at a local pub. (We are far from a typical church.)

we take care of induvidual members in our home groups. That is what we focus on, Discipleship. Bible teaching (we actually have sermons in our home group nights) and cell groups.

we do topical study, or inductive studies where we go through a book of the bible on Sundays.. Which is also different from most churches I have attended, who focus more on 20 minute sermonettes I used to call them..

I was saved in the church, Baptised about a year later.. I love our baptismal services now. We have peopel actually get up and give testimony of How God not only saved them, but changed their life. We have so many people get saved on these events.. I think that is what it was meant to be.

Yeah, that's a big Calvary Chapel thing. And although we are a "spin-off" from that church, our focus differs.

IS CORPORATE WORSHIP PART OF GODS EXPECTATION FOR CHRISTIANS?....the wording is skewed in my opinion....it's not a law or rule for us "to do".. BUT...it's a by-product of who we are. How could we not want to worship with others? I love to hear and watch others worship their Lord and King....It's more like "we get to" worship with others. Amen! It's a blessing!

There does seem to be seasons for some people too as Paul went away by himself ( presumed ) for 3 years in Arabia to learn about the revelation of Christ in us and us in Him.
Galatians 1:15-20King James Version (KJV)[SUP]15 [/SUP]But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

I would not presume God sent anyone anyplace alone.. He never did that, Nor did paul in all of his missionary missions go alone,

I think he went alone to be taught by God. But afterwards he does point out that fellowship is good for edification.

He might have had some others with him in Arabia ..the scriptures do not really say one way or another....but no apostles for sure to disciple him in the Lord....just as the scripture you put up showed..

Paul is talking to brothers and sisters in Christ about gathering for fellowship not to unbelievers. Sometimes you might get this 82894140iiigb_sm.jpg

It's not the way I would prefer it, but we all meet periodically at the gulf beaches, 15 miles away from our church, to have a gigantic baptismal celebration a couple of times a year. We have a food fest then, and music, a little preaching, and the "dunkin".

lol.. Paul spoke on Jewish synagogs. Most of them needed christ. It was his public meetings which brought people to hear what he had to say.

You just give people another outlet and way to worship.. we need to reach everyone, not just a particular group. I do not think God is upset with us.. as long as we hold onto the gospel which saves as our root.

Absolutely true. I am sure there are people who cut out of our church, and go find what they need elsewhere. And that is cool, because we all need to be where we fit in. And they probably would never feel right in our kind of service.

I often suggest to seekers here that they NOT look into our denomination. I can tell from listening to them that they are looking for something different.
