I place a disclaimer here at the beginning that what I am posting here is not by any means an exhaustive list, but these are verses I found in my studies tonight that helped to answer a lingering question in my mind, and I think that if somebody else out there is doubting their faith, that these verses might be of some help and comfort.
So the question "Am I worthy of salvation?". Might seem silly to some, but there are some of us who have never had much value to anyone. There are some of us who have never known love. There are some of us who have always felt alone, cast aside, and unworthy. If you cannot relate, I envy you. If you can relate, I commiserate with you.
Almost everyone, even non-Christians can give you at least a paraphrasing of John 3:16:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
So I asked myself if there were other mentions I could find that talk about how ALL are worthy, and I came up with:
1 Timothy 2:3-6
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
2COR5:14-15
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
As I said, not exhaustive, but I was able to find these pretty easily, and they really helped to provoke my mind. If ALL are worthy, then that means I am too. Likewise, it means that nobody is beyond salvation. That feels really good.
