How can we prove the Bible is the infallible Word of God?

How can we prove the Bible is the infallible Word of God without using the Bible to prove the Bible is the infallible Word of God?

How would you prove the Bible is the infallible Word of God?

The most common way many Christians use is this:

Premise A: The Bible is the infallible Word of God.

Premise B; The Bible attests to its own infallibility.

Premise C: The self-attestation of Scriptures is an infallible attestation.

Conclusion: The Bible is the infallible Word of God.

To us Christians this makes sense. But what about those who do not believe the Bible is from God?

This problem has stumped many a Theologian down through the Centuries.

Well, you might need to live at least some more years and begin to believe what it says, just take it by faith, live it, and as scripture says, "Taste and see that the Lord is Good". Remember, the Word is Jesus Christ. And once you begin a relationship with Him, it begins to all make sense. His presence is IN you to bring you understanding. And it does not come all at once. Understanding usually follows obedience.

This is not a mind thing - it's truths are to be experienced.

Start with the main commandment of Christ "Come unto me." Come means to surrender yourself to Him as your Lord and Savior. As you read the scriptures, do so in His presence and pray as you read.

If you want proof, you have to live it. And be changed by it. Then you will know. You will be the proof.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

It does not make sense to me and I am Christian.

Common sense will tell you that when God or Jesus Christ are being quoted in the Bible, you are hearing the Word of God. Whether or not you want to believe God is infallible is up to you, but how can one be so vain and foolish as to believe they are wiser than the Lord?

Proving the bible to be the infallible word of god has never been done and honestly won't until all is said and done, if it could be proven then every person who we wanted to convince would have no argument what so ever even some Christians don't truly believe this as they reject certain scriptures that oppose their beliefs.

But the bible was made specifically by God to only be understood by the holy spirit and by growing close to God and thus because of this anyone without these could never understand the word in the depth that is needed to prove it's infallible and so in that conclusion there is no need to prove this because cannot be done and isn't our job to begin with

God did use fallible people to write the Scriptures. They were not dictated to but allowed to write in their own styles and
used a Jewish method of interpretation known as Midrash to produce them.

I am not surprised these two have come up with this thread. Was it not PaulMack who came up with the same kind of thread about God being real? Hmm

I am beginning to believe that these two are actually one person using two screen names. if not, then the reality that there are two people who actually say such stuff is kinda weird.

It does not make sense to me and I am Christian.
But does Jesus Christ make sense to you? That is what counts. We all "see as in a glass darkly" and do not understand fully. It is only our relationship with Christ that is everything.

Depends on what you mean by "make sense".

The circular reasoning of Bible´s infallibility that was presented as "To us Christians this makes sense" does not make sense to me.

To us True Christians the Word of God is infallible.

To others like the Catholics they see their teachings of the Catholic Church as infallible.

Its by faith we believe the Bible is the very Word of God. But proving this to others who are blinded by Satan is another subject.

Why do you feel the need to attack people p_rehbein? Where is you love for our Brothers in Christ?

We need to try and be nice to people. We may not like or agree with what they say, but does the give us the right to be mean to them?

Who here really believes that the Bible they read and hold is the infallible word of God? It contains no mistakes and every word is true and pure?

Wow, this was an interesting answer and made me think of how even more cunning and dastardly the devil is. Here we sit, many people still questioning the infallibility, even the authority, of God's Word, at least His Written Word, and it's the same trick foisted upon mankind since the beginning.....casting doubt upon God's Word, : Yea, hath God Really said...?

And yet, the devil knows full well the infallibleness and authority of God's Word!
The demons believe and tremble, and they know what's coming yet are still defiant.

If only we, and more of us, would believe and tremble with delight. Believe more deeply and with more joy in who Jesus is and what He's done for us.

Why is my heart often so hard or indifferent?

As far as proving God's Word? One poster said it can't be done. Perhaps from person to person, maybe, but God proved it to me, there's no doubt in my mind the Bible is God's Word, and I'm guessing many here believe the same.

How to prove it to others? Each person is different. Some have a ready heart...good soil...some not so much. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, so you first have to have a person that actually believes there IS a God.

Then have them read or hear the beginning of John, or even 3:16-17. God's Word does not go out and return void, but accomplishes what it will by His grace, so pray that the person receives it and believes unto salvation.

One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase, and He will increase the faith to know His Word is the infallible truth. The book is true and infallible because the author is true and infallible. He doesn't have to prove Himself, but He does, and that's amazing grace. He's a good Father and a wonderful Savior!

Simply ask the Devil why do you come against this book and no other.

A question you may never have considered but is more vital for us is::::

Why does a Christian have to prove that the Bible is the Word of God??????

Surely the Holy Spirit will convince anyone whom is open to the Word of God that they are reading the Words of God....
