Who are the False Prophets that are among us today?
You should be very very careful not to follow those false prophets. They are "many"

EZEK.14 9] And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.[10] And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: THE PUNISHMENT OF THE PROPHET SHALL BE EVEN AS THE PUNISHMENT OF HIM THAT SEEKETH UNTO HIM;

Anyone advocating for Law as a means for salvation, maintaining salvation, or as the rule of life.
Beware: This bread has some truth, but there's also some leaven in it.

Matthew 19:16-18

Just then, a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?” 17“Why do you ask Me about what is good? Jesus replied, “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18“Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness..
Believe (i.e. "follow") Christ. Can't go wrong.

Put me on your ignore list if you want Yahweh_is_gracious.

And yes i do have an axe to grind as you say. Do you have a couple of minutes? Listen to my story.

My whole Family are Catholics. I was born in a Catholic Family. I attended the Catholic Church. I was an alter boy in the Catholic Church. Can you see where i'm going?

When i was an alter boy i was molested by a Catholic Priest. This molestation went on for years.

Can you even understand the pain i went through? Over and over for years on end, being molested. I tried to kill myself. This is how my family found out what was going on. My dad blamed me for being molested.

So yes i do hate the Catholic Church. How can a Priest who claims to follow Jesus even do this to me!!!!!!

So now you have my story. You can now leave me and abandon me just like my dad did.
Will pray for you. Hope you recognize the difference between one corrupt priest and some of the wonderful true sisters and brothers in the Catholic church.

It is awful that your Father blamed you instead of protected you and other boys who have probably been hurt by the same perverted wolf.

You do bring up a good issue that all churches and parents need to be aware of. Wolves and child predators seek positions where they are entrusted with the care of children. The boy scouts have something called two deep leadership where at least two adults are with scouts at wall times. And all scout and leader conversation is done within sight of the group even if out of hearing.

.....just going to pray now.

Dear Lord our hearts are sad. Please help us find peace and healing. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

One parting thought from me this evening. I'm terribly disappointed in many of you.

Not once; not one single time; never has any one of you had the courage and conviction to simply just ask me my views. No. It was more fun for you to assume. It was more fun to draw your own conclusions based on the things I would write. You couldn't simply ask the question because you were having more fun showing your skills as a master debater.

It's Christians like you that make it hard for Christians like me to "love my fellow man". It's Christians like you that are more of a barrier to a young Christian (like me saved in 2015) learning about his faith than you are a helpmate. It's Christians like you that I want nothing to do with and want no association with because I don't feel you do your proclaimed faith any service in the way you treat others who don't agree with your notions. It's Christians like you that I don't have any interest in getting to know, and you've lost any chance in getting to know me. Your loss too. I'm a pretty awesome dude.
Make it mutual because I am somewhat disappointed in you.

You see a brother hurting and instead of loving him,you decide to make false accusations (that no one asked your opinion and just made assumptions about you, because if you go back and read my,post it was a question specifically asking for your views and reasoning. Which by the way you never answered.)

So you can leave feeling hurt and mistreated, a victim of your false views of the situation....or you could pray and ask God to reveal His truth and learn to feel His love so you can stop blaming others for your lack of love.

Will continue praying for you because you are carrying alot of hurt and unforgiveness that you need to lay down on the foot of the cross.

Jesus beautifully illustrates that his proclamation of lifelong lawkeeping, even if he somehow wasn't being dishonest, would NEVER be enough to EARN his way to heaven.

HE, OR WE, cannot "do" anything to attain eternal life. It is a free gift from God through the blood of His Son, and subsequent resurrection.

Matthew 19:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?"

[SUP]17 [/SUP] And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."

Jesus gave the rich young ruler the Law and we come to find out that this rich guy actually broke the very first commandment even though he said that he keep the commandments from his youth.

We know when we look at scripture that eternal life only comes from believing in Jesus and His finished work on the cross for us but Jesus gave him the Law to show him that he needed a Savior - just like the rest of us.

Salvation and eternal life doesn't come from us keeping the Law - because no one can keep it - only Jesus fulfilled the whole Law. We are now in Christ and benefit from Him keeping the Law. His life in us now directs us in living and not by following a set of Old Covenant rules.

We can trust the Holy Spirit in us to lead us in this life. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus will stop us from having sex with animals and we don't have to try to "obey" Lev. 18:23.

We live now from the life of Another in us - Christ Himself. Gal. 2:20

..and your point is? If you have one, please get to it. The thread title and first post reek of something inflammatory just to get a crap fight started. I get a kick out of it like watching chimpanzees throw poop at each other, but it needs to be called out for what it is.

and look who joined

LOL!

you are doing the same here as in the other thread...you are calling others hypocrites yet here you are

Unfortunate that happened to you, but it doesn't entitle you to spew venom at a whole organization based on the actions of a single individual. You know that, but it's just easier to hate the whole RCC and have something to chat about with the other loving Christians. Have at it.

wow

you really are precious aren't you

you seem to apply God's forgiveness only to yourself

when you understand that Christ died for the world and you, without Him are a miserable piece of mud, then you will have gained some wisdom

now knowledge without wisdom is useless. if you wish to apply knowledge, then, use wisdom and understand that God's love is to be represented in the believer and extended

seems that you believe you need to hold onto God in a box or something

you lash out at everyone and then defend yourself when they ask you what you think you are doing

to say to someone 'it's Christians like you that I don't have any interest in getting to know' reveals a very tiny and unforgiving world

who hurt you so bad?

It is a fact that the catholic church is anything but clean. Especially the RCC is completely infiltrated with the demonic! Alone the way they celebrate multiple fests through the dead, necromancy, and molest and go against their oaths (you shall not swear),... If you dont like hearing that go somewhere else but dont attack people who ask and start threads who are important for us all.
False prophets are a topic for all of us and its not just about the RCC (as he has already asked for others). He has more than just a right to say his opinion (or in this case facts) the RCC is from hell and done. Have at it!

False prophets today are those who stand in pulpits or strut across stages where pulpits should be and teach a gospel that is one of moral superiority and not one that teaches of sin, righteousness and judgment.

It produces people who feel morally acceptable before men but who are spiritually and eternally lost before God. Making people religious is not seeing them saved from their sin and converted to Christ.

A false prophet is any person that adds to the words of prophecy written in the book of prophecy called the “book of the law”

That referring to the whole Bible, as God’s perfect law .

The book of the law the bible is written against us as the one reforming final authority in any generation..

1The word of the Lord came to me: 2“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: ‘Hear the word of the Lord! 3This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the foolish[SUP]a[/SUP] prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

4Your prophets, Israel, are like jackals among ruins. 5You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord.

6Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. Even though the Lord has not sent them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfill their words. 7Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?

8“ ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 9My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.

10“ ‘Because they lead my people astray, saying, “Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, 11therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth.

12When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?”

Ezekiel 13

people seem to have all kinds of ideas of what a false prophet is

basically, it is simply a person who says they speak on behalf of God, and God has not told them anything

the church is full of them and they do not necessarily have to say 'thus saith the Lord'

the above is from the OT with regards to what God thinks of those who speak presumptuously on His behalf

the NT warns against seducing spirits and doctrines of demons

and Jesus warned over and over again about deception

yet, it seems many continue to presume themselves teachers and prophets

Men who take to kingship and not servanthood.

Jesus washed their feet and then said 'as I've done unto you, you ought to wash one another's feet'.

Men forgo the servant apron of Christ for a business suit and tie. More dignified you see.

They seek not to humbly serve but to be served, to be noticed, to be adored, to be above and more special, otherwise, what's with the religious, honorific title, Pastor, Reverend that Jesus condemned in Matt.23:4-12. Who's name is on the marque?

And to add error to error, the folks are commanded to pay this despot a salary, contrary to Acts 20.

So he is elavated to an upper 'holy' chamber that Jesus condemns in Matt.20. Paul condemns in 1Peter 5, and yet the modern religious system claims it as biblical.

The single ruling Pastor.....no where in the NT, yet people will beat the snot out of me for mentioning that fact. How precious is that? Folks the 'church' is apostate and operating in clear defiance to the word of God. But who really gives a flying flip....right?

These are false prophets, false teachers, false shepherds, and hirelings that your NT warns of. Warnings that seem to fall on deaf ears attached to sleepy head pew sitters. Many are awakening out of their slumber and sleep however. Praise His matchless Name. God is working His works inspite of the 'church'. Out of compassion, like a fire in my heart, Jeremiah 20:9, I teach His word as it is written.

With respect, i think you're adding a lot to the exchange while changing the question. The question was "what must I do for eternal life" not "what must I do to get to heaven" or "what must I do to be saved". These concepts aren't equal in the context of scripture. Also, Christ doesn't say the man is incorrect nor does he imply it's impossible to do what Christ said, but adds that the man lacks just one more piece of the puzzle: forsaking worldly lust (his riches) and following Christ.

We can not do anything to be *pardoned* (i.e. "saved") from our *sins*. It's the pardon that's the free gift to us. But *after* we are pardoned we are expected and actually told to "sin no more", which is to obey the commandments, because a sin is "to break God's commandments" as Paul says.

Whether we choose life or choose death, after we're saved, is up to us. "I set before you life and death; blessings and curses, so [YOU] choose life so that you and your children may live."

So the question in the passage wasn't about being saved from one's sins, but about eternal life; two related but completely different concepts.

If you're saying that salvation is not receiving eternal life, then I'll take eternal life and you can keep your "salvation'.
