1. I don't have hate for any group. In order to hate something, you first have to love it. I don't love anything. Therefore, I don't hate anything. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

2. I won't throw the Catholic Church in the trash. Sorry if that upsets you. Deal with it. I also won't condemn the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Mormon Church, the Jehovah's Witnesses, 7th-day Adventists or any other group many of you like to bag on.

3. I don't think less of homosexuals, drug-addicts, adulterers, or any other group you think I should look down my nose at. Sorry if it upsets you. Deal with it.

4. I don't throw Bible verses around. Never have, never will. If I want to know what the Bible says, I will read it. If I can make my own point without needing to resort to shoving Scripture in your face, then I will make my own point. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

5. I don't have an opinion about doctrines. Many of them, I have no opinion because I have never looked into them. Many of them, I have no opinion because I think they are silly things to bicker about and don't serve any useful purpose. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

6. I have no interest in playing the whole 'I am holier than thou art" game that goes on. Those kinds of games stopped being entertaining in 3rd grade back when farts and boogers were still funny. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

7. I'm not here to make friends. I don't do friendships. I'm here to learn, to read, and to occasionally interact with people on my terms. On the flip side, I am not here to make enemies. You are free to dislike me all you want, and it won't make any impact on me. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

8. I get no joy or thrill out of having to explain myself because people can't bother to read carefully and comprehend what they are reading. It's a battle I don't care to fight. I've fought enough in my life. School bullies, combat in the military, two ex-wives, bosses, clients, and now strangers on the Internet. No thanks. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

9. I feel no need to advertise my views just to invite criticism from people I don't know nor respect. My views are mine, and I am under no obligation to defend them to you or anyone else. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

10. My reasons for becoming a Christian are my own. What kind of Christian I am is no doubt vastly different than yours, and no doubt you are sure I am "doing it wrong". You are entitled to your opinion. Sorry if this upsets you. Deal with it.

My only concern would be for #4, and #7.

Nothing wrong with posting Scriptures........this is a Christian Site, and posting Scriptures is a way for others to share in the joy of His Written Word.

Nothing wrong with seeking Internet Friends on a Christian Site. We are told IN SCRIPTURE to "fellowship" with one another and to "edify the Church." Hard to do those things IF we don't seek to do them.

:)

Oh, just the silliness yesterday evening in the BDF. Thought I'd clear a few things up for people in language they can understand a bit easier than trying to read things into my posts.

oh my

I have nothing against you personally, but you seriously see nothing wrong in how you responded to people?

saying things like 'you are just the kind of Christian I avoid and will never be friends with' and similar?

you did not even say that to me, but you seriously want to blame everyone else for your biting posts?

if I make a post with edge, I know I am gonna get some flack. I avoid some people here for that very reason.

you kind of get what you give if you know what I mean

although sometimes, a person really does not deserve what they get, but reading your posts, I have to say you did kind of ask for it

Lauren, I'd have to click a link to read your post, and I just can't be bothered to do that. You are ignored, and ignored you shall stay. You've been on me like stink on crap ever since I insulted Joyce Meyers. I get it, you're upset. Cry your river, build your bridge, and get over it. If you keep following me around the forums, I'm going to think I have some middle aged Canadian lady after my hot body. Your stalking is getting creepy.

Soon as I insulted the Great Joyce Meyers, she was in the threads I was posting in, posting and posting and posting. Even on ignore, the username shows up, you know? I didn't put her on ignore until this morning, and it was a good thing I did. She had to have spent an inordinate amount of time digging through threads to quote me and take my words out of context. It was flattering in a morbid kind of way.

Sometimes members here just clash... the only way to get past it is to just apologize/explain/group hug and move on.

Some people have difficulty doing that.... I've had one person that I "clashed" with, and we finally got past it. For the most part, I just agree to disagree with those that have radically different views than mine... and I'm happy to say that MOST of the folks on here are kind enough to do the same.

I have never felt that I have to dislike someone I disagree with. I've learned over the years that I COULD be wrong in my beliefs ... (just not often )

Getting myself to believe it, and admit it has usually been the difficult part.

I liked your post, y_i_g.... I understand humor, in most of its forms...

To paraphrase the gentleman who shared the Gospel with me that led to my coming to Christ:

"Jon, religion is like your genitals. You've got them, and you're proud of them, but don't go waving them around in everybody's face." I found that to be very wise advice. So, I don't quote Scripture. On these forums, just typing an innocuous emoticon opens you up to attack like a three-legged cat in a room full of coon hounds. Quoting Scripture? From what translation of the Bible!!!!! FIGHT!!!! LOL

I'm more than willing to apologize. When I am in the wrong. I am not, so I will not apologize just to smooth things over. It makes no difference to me if people are upset. I suggest Desitin or BagBalm to salve that sore. If I am wrong and someone can categorically prove to me, then I will apologize. Until then, I hope folks packed a lunch. They're likely to see Jesus come again before they see me apologize.

you would be flattered should you meet me in person

silly silly person

your attitude is what got my attention

very very close minded and seeks attention by posting in an outrageous way

I conclude you will eventually leave of your own accord after meeting more people just like me who don't like your contribution to letting it all hang out

Had to quote you again now that I've gathered my thoughts on this. I see what Scripture says, but it's yet another thing I just cannot do. Interacting with unknown people over the Internet is difficult enough, and there is such a wide divide that insulates me from all of you. As of yet, I feel as though I have very little in common with people here, so it's difficult to feel as a part of a group. I do my best to interact as I think I am expected to, even though it means I am faking my way through it most of the time because people in general just baffle me, so I am bound to get things wrong from time to time.

Wait...I thought all this time we were supposed to be "good" Christians according to GOD'S standard; but it's supposed to be by CC's, huh? I gotta go look this up!

That's why I did not capitalize the word christian in the title. Capitalization is reserved for proper names and titles. I'd rather deny my faith than be associated with the brand of christianity flaunted in certain dark corners of this place.

I guess it shouldn't surprise us when some "christians" don't come up to snuff. There was a member of our Lord's disciples who was a traitor! But it still shocks me if I see it.

No, it shouldn't be any surprise. I know I'm not a good Christian.
