Well, it is British humour. Very different to American humour. I wouldn't worry about it. Seems the vast majority of Americans don't get Monty Python.
I am told I have decidedly British humour, so it makes sense that I love what I've seen of Monty Python.

Then I will suggest reading your Bible more closely. Seems I recall it tells us not to hate people
I'm curious... when Jesus picked up the whips and busted up the money changers, do you think He was experiencing/expressing hate?

Yup. It is. And, yup. I get you don't think it's funny. But why insult just because you don't think it is?

I don't think Monty Python or the Three Stooges are funny, but I'm not going to insult anyone for thinking they are.

There's the difference. You seem to think everyone must think like you. No need to understand -- just comply. (And that wasn't humor.)

I don't quite understand why you felt the need to post this comment? As I pretty much made it clear to Fenner, and by proxy, to all others here that I was finished commenting on this Thread. I am trying to understand your reason for doing so, but don't like the "options" I see.

1) You saw my comment to Fenner, and you thought that it would provide you with a chance for a cheap shot, sort of like a dagger to the back as I was walking away from this Thread. I do not believe you are that type of person, so I do not like this "option."

2) You say my comment to Fenner, and decided you were not "through" with me, and decided to post this to "drag" me back into the discussions going on here. I do not believe you are this type of person either, and that is the quandary I am faced with. Why would you believe it necessary to post this comment.

Why could you not choose to leave well enough alone? Just to get in the "last word/parting shot?"

Anyway..........I will not respond to your comment, as much as the Old Soldier in me desires to, because that would simply lead to your responding to me, and me responding to you, and you responding to me, and.........well....so, I will simply ask you tr refrain from continuing to post comments directed at me and allow me to walk away in peace.

I will bid you "go in peace," and ask that you respect me enough to bid me the same.

Lol!

This THREAD is no more! 'E has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch, 'e'd be pushin' up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! He's bloody snuffed it!..... THIS IS AN EX-THREAD!!! Lol, God bless you, Tinuviel!
Yeah, I guess it's too much to ask people to apologize to YIG for confusing him with Thomas, and too much to ask to let someone express what they think if the thoughts aren't conforming.
Lynn, you are an absolute knucklehead!
Why would you post that reply after my post???
My post had nothing, repeat, NOTHING to do with Y-I-G, I barely have had any interaction with him, and I'm not among those who allegedly confused him with Thomas!

People were mentioning how we like Monty Python.
My post was an almost word-for-word copy from a Monty Python 'Parrot' sketch, elaborating on Tinuviel's post that had a portion of the same sketch.

We had joked about replacing the word parrot with the word thread. Not this thread, just any thread in general. We were talking about Python, you yourself said that was a funny sketch, I posted the the parts about different ways to say dead, and Tinuviel posted the bits and used the word thread instead of parrot.

It was funny, and I posted the complete
section. Somehow, it seems, you read that as a ridicule of YIG??
And implied I should apologize because other people confused him with Thomas???

Lynn.
Really.
You need to stop reading things into posts that just aren't there, and please, I asked you already, please stop harrassing me with your incinuations.

My post had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH YIG OR THOMAS!!!

I hate slow drivers in the fast lane. Liberals are a close 2nd.

Utah doesn't hate people. You know him better than that. He obviously hates the things they do. If he Actually hated them, there'd be alot less liberals on the road.

Have you ever hated something someone does, but still loved the person?

Read the posts. They were a ref to Python, and had nothing to do with YIG or THOMAS, and anyone who says they did is a liar and a false accuser.

No. It just means that if the minimum wage was higher he would like his job better and not burn food. It's the rich white mans fault for being cheap.
I have fired quite a number of people who had the foolish audacity to tell me that if they were paid more, they would do a better job... and I have promoted many, many other people who shut up, and worked well, no matter their income.

Christians are supposed to do their best even if they are not being paid to their talent or being treated properly. The worker who says I would do better if I am being paid more is not in Gods will.

I think it's gender related. It seems most of the guys I know like them, but not the gals. (No offense to gals who like them or guys who don't like them.)

Now. Want to explain the Three Stooges to me? Not only are they Americans, they're from the city I live in, so I'm really supposed to like them.

This American lady thinks Monty Python is really funny. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea though.

Lego made a Monty Puthon Knights of the round table Lego version . It's funny!

The Python fans come in every walk of life. Tons of gals, Lynn, many right here, you don't know what you're missing. There's guys, gals, gay, straight, libs, conservs, christian, jew, and atheist. It's really astonishing, the broad range of fans they have, and through generations now.

The Stooges are a completely diff type of humor, though many fans like both, but some really like the one and really dislike the other. It's hard to gauge.

But in my opinion, any good comedy of the last 80 or so years, can find their roots or some offshoot, and owe it all to, The Marx Brothers. ;)

Disingenuous.

You and I, not you and Fenner, have been having this conversation for a few pages now. I asked you questions, you responded by asking me questions, and it has gone this way for a while. Fenner came along on page 6, and was talking about missing YIG, came back on page 9, and you were too busy calling others "whiny brats" with "double standards" to notice. The only time you said anything to Fenner was when she told US to knock it off.

AND it happened after I tried to settle a dispute between you and AuntieAnt fairly so you would go back to reality -- that you weren't attacking her through her humor, you simply don't like that kind of humor. So, you can't say I'm playing cat and mouse with you. But you sure are.

No, you don't like the humor. Got that. Still why insult people because you can't? You have insulted everyone who disagreed with you. And, through biting humor no less.

"Go in peace" is a cop out for "I got my own way." It has absolutely nothing to do with peace. Walking away after insulting people does not give peace. If it does, then it is a false peace. It is disingenuous.

I respect you enough to not let you cop out with that one. And I respect Fenner enough not to let you lay this on her feet either.

Got to say though, I'm losing respect for you. You talk double standards? The one who calls everyone else who doesn't agree with him a whiny brat is now expecting everyone to let that one go? And the continued insults since? Catch that bitter humor because that is all YOU! Apparently you do get it!

Nice "I'm above it all" though. Anyone who wasn't paying attention bought it!
