I have no idea what to cook for supper tonight. Dad and I are tired of everything we've had recently, and neither of us likes eating take-out. I can cook pretty much anything, but I just don't know what it's going to be tonight.

Spare ribs sound good to me today, but since there's chicken and I am almost broke today, we will have some sort of crock pot chicken.

I am right now eating out of a can of La Preferida Refried Black Beans. With a mixture of Louisiana Hot sauce and Tabasco sauce, I find it pretty good.

Hot spices are supposed to be good for your health.

Hot about a heaping mess of refried black beans for both of you? LOL

Fish...fish is good (if you like fish, that is).

I'll pass on that suggestion. I get tired enough having to lift a 180 pound man on and off the toilet half a dozen times a day as it is.

The sunsets are pretty nice as well!! :D (Kansas)
True...
It's funny, but if you'd asked me a year ago to name a state I would never want to live in, I would have very likely named Kansas or Nebraska... I've just never cared for them. But then my mom took me to this one town in Kansas that I would actually add to a list of places I would love to try living in. Lawrence, KA is one REALLY, REALLY cool town! (me: "You mean... Kansas actually HAS TREES?!")

Yeah, I know. My mom ended up visiting there a while back (not the most pleasant circumstances, admittedly: she was attending the murder trial of a friend of hers). She thought the town was really neat and insisted on making a detour on a road trip so that my brother and I could see it.

We drove by the KU campus... it was gorgeous. We also checked out the Tea Castle (normally you can't just go in - you have to have a tour or be with a group that's there, but it was right before a group got there and the receptionist let us take a peak around). There were coffee shops, bookstores, and good restaurants everywhere... I was very pleased. ^-^

Cannot say I know what you are going through, but do see how that can be a draw on you mentally and physically, not to mention its effect on you (attitude, happiness, etc). Pretty sure you feel like a prisoner as well.

Know this, am pretty sure there are folk here praying for you (and your dad), myself included.

Stay strong...the taco salad sounds great!

LOL I don't know that I'm interested in attending KU itself.

I love how random the houses are in that town, though. You'll have an ultra mod square white house next to a 100 year old wood shingle 3 story and then a sandstone house next door to that one. Lots of variety.

Where I live it is very flat and windy, and the only trees you see around are mostly planted by people (though, unlike SD, the trees actually DO grow here!) And a lot of trees were planted in tree rows by the last generation of farmers to keep the top soil from flying into the next county; but as it is some of the best soil in the world THIS generation of farmers had the BRIGHT idea that the tree rows were taking up too much ground so they rooted them all up, and NOW they're complaining about all the dust we've had and paying thousands of dollars to dig the ditches to get their top-soil back...why is everyone so surprised? (Sorry, trees and flat reminded me of that :D)

Splashing water on your face isn't gonna cut it. Sounds like you're in need of a double espresso.
