Jesus was created by God in Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The above statement is not true and does not belong in this thread.

Jesus is the Word. In the beginning was the Word. The Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God.

The same was In The Beginning with God.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
That's Jesus.

The incarnation was 2000 years ago, but the Son, the Word, was always with the Father, He was not created some time after the beginning, but was always with God, and always was God, IN THE BEGINNING.

Where does the Bible explicitly state that Jesus is the Word? I do recall Jesus saying that he is the Light.

In the posted scripture, of course. John 1:1

If Jesus is not the Word, then who is that scriptue referring to?

A 4th member of the godhead?

Yes. AA posted that, and then vs14 says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
There can be no denying what scripture is claiming, and isn't that a beautiful revelation that comes to so many of us in salvation.

Hornetguy, I get more amazed all the time how God can take any portion of His Word and turn it into a verse of salvation.

Since I have such a faulty memeory when it comes to pinpointing times and dates with incidents, I can't say when or even how, but somewhere back when I know this scripture just had me go WOW, Jesus is God, no question about it!!!

He's not just the stories about Christmas and Good Friday and Easter, but He's Really God!!!!! or like when Thomas said, My Lord and My God!!! and that linked with it!

That light went on, and Jesus is the light! It's not His fault I'm such a dim-bulb, and I mess up and forget alot, but it's like, once you know Jesus is the Word, the one spoken of in John, no one can take that away. I can't ever see myself going back to a time of thinking that Jesus is NOT God.

And that HAS to be His doing, I wasn't looking to prove or disprove it.
He just hit me with it I guess. Lol. GBU.
(I pray He keeps hitting me with more, though. Always needing refilling, it seems)

Dear SCHISM, I apologize for being snippy with you early on, not exactly sure when. I was convinced you were just being deliberately antagonistic and not at all interested in scripture or salvation.
Even in this thread, stating Jesus is a created being.....many cultists/antagonists start there, so I had suspicions.
But I just read your blog, and will accept you meant it from the heart.
You already got some good replies from some solid people there, so I won't add commentary. Just wanted to say God bless you, Jesus truly is our Lord, God and Savior, you can trust in Him completely, and sorry again for my 'shortness' before.

It says in John, "the Word was God," and "All things were made by him."

So, we'll look at creation.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

So, in verse 1 we have the Father created the heaven and the earth.

In verse 2 we have the Holy Spirit moving upon the face of the waters.

In verse 3 we have the first Word spoken by the Father when he created his Son.

So, the Son was in Him and He in the Father and was the first Word spoken. He was in the Father in the beginning, creating the heaven and the earth, and was made manifest in verse 3 as the Light of the world.

4000 years later the Light and the Word became flesh in the body of Jesus Christ.

So, I reckon my original statement that Jesus was created in verse 3 was indeed false because that body was created 4000 years later.

Well, at least it opened up a good discussion.

Well, I did say He created his Son again. I think I should have used the word manifested. The Father and Son and Spirit are one.

God created Jesus? I am surprised by this. What people believe this?

That's one reason I prefer the translation(s) that say 'the only BEGOTTEN Son'. Some say One and only Son, but I think that weakens the depth of meaning a bit.

Yes, I've heard it that He's the 'uncreated one'.

Can I understand it all? Nope! Does it say He's our Creator, Lord and Savior? Yep! And took on flesh and dwelt among us? Yep!
Good enough for my puny brain. Lol. God bless you. :)

If you all figure out something you all agree on, would someone be kind enough to send me a PM so I'll know? I want to make sure I can send parkas, scarves, and mittens to Hell at the appropriate time.

As long as you believe in Jesus, great is your reward in heaven. May the Lord strengthen you to do His will and work with joy in His Spirit and peace of mind. Your sacrificial works of love won't go unnoticed. Jesus loves you. Keep the faith, He's coming again, and His reward is with Him.
