Someone mentioned the 'man of God' recently, referring to his pastor and his sermon.
I asked 'are you not a man of God also'?
The 'church' has this warped understanding that one exalted man in their midst is somehow a 'special' person that God set up on high to rule over them....for pay. This is not in your bible.
Lets see how much this 'man of God' must suffer for the cause of Christ.
One: This poor fellow is forced to give up his low paying sweat shop factory job of 12 hour days, 6 and 7 days a week.
two: He is forced to live in a rent free parsonage.
Three: He is forced to receive adoration and praise from his congregants.
Four: He is forced to be taken out for dinner all the time.
Five: He is forced to be addressed by a special exalted title such as Bishop, Pastor, or Reverend.
Six: He is forced to prepare and give a 40 minute 7 point sermon once a week for a full weeks pay check of roughly 1500 dollars tax free. Depends on economic status of the congregation. He generally pulls more than the average sweat shopper.
Seven: He and his wife are forced to receive special love offerings for anniversaries, birthdays and such.
Eight: He is forced to receive a special offering if anything breaks down such as car, air conditioner, boat, camper, and such. Private jet for the fat cat pastors.
Nine: He is forced to make special trips to 'check the missionary work' in the Bahamas, Cancun, etc, etc..
Ten: He is forced to take many vacations for the 'man of God' is in dire need of rest and needs get alone with God for 'a time of refreshing'.
Eleven: He is forced most of the week to doing nothing...how boring.
Twelve: He is forced to have His celebrety name at the top of church letter head, and on marque.
Yes. These are the true marks of a bonafide 'Man of God'. The stress, the strain, the commitment, the self sacrifice, the long agonizing hours, the hardship, the jet lag, the awesome responsibilty, those lonely hours, those steak dinners, those mission work trips to the sandy beaches of the Bahamas. Indeed, the sufferings of Christ that he must endure! Who can bear it?
Please pray for your 'man of God', that he doesn't burn out.
Now. The book of Acts 20.35. I have shown you all these things that you elders/leaders should humbly work jobs to support the hurting.
In a word...or two. No titles, no ego, Matt.23:4-12, no 'lording it over His heritage' 1Peter5, 3John, and no sponging off of grandma and the rest, Acts 20.
I, your consistant mean teacher of the simple word of God would be more than happy to come to your assembly, teach the truth, wash your feet, serve at your tables, wear no special title that exalts me, and i'll do it all for free, no salary, no pay, no filthy lucre, no false tithing doctrine, but i'd be more than thrilled to help support grandma and those sheep that are struggling financially. Keep my name off the letter head and marque. That's the sin of arrogance. Not for me.
I'll start packing my bags right away. Give me your location. Private message me if you like. Do i have any takers?......i thought not. That's how brainwashed the 'church' is. How far from the gospel it has fallen. How apostate it has become. How deceived it is. A few will finally get this. But just a few ...i fear.
