So if the way you read this makes other scriptures a lie,
have you broken the Bible?

Or are you understanding this incorrectly?

i think what you did here was ((among other things)) find another flaw in the KJV.

2 Kings 20:3
HEB: בֶּֽאֱמֶת֙ וּבְלֵבָ֣ב שָׁלֵ֔ם וְהַטּ֥וֹב בְּעֵינֶ֖יךָ
NAS: You in truth and with a whole heart
KJV: thee in truth and with a perfect heart,
INT: truth heart A whole what your sight

Strong's Concordance
shalem: complete, safe, at peace
Original Word: שָׁלֵם
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: shalem
Phonetic Spelling: (shaw-lame')
Short Definition: whole
NAS Exhaustive Concordance
Word Origin
from shalem
Definition
complete, safe, at peace

You took the words right out of my mouth PH! This is a big mistake in KJV. Whenever I see someone posting wrong doctrine and supporting it with KJV, I always know immediately where they have gone wrong, and it is the Bible translation they are using.

Sorry, I just came off of the KJV thread and it's on my mind!

God is most interested in the intent of our hearts. We all need new heart for ours is wicked. Before we say or do anything what is our intent. We must always be truthful with that point of our lives.
We are all held accountable for our actions and words when it comes to serving the Lord. It starts with the intent.
Is it to serve God and further the kingdom? Is it to prove your point? Is it to show your a Christian? Is it to show you are knowledgeable. Many people take this lightly but the Lord doesn't....we are held accountable. Getting back to the op I am amazed at the responses on some of these threads. What amazes me most is when something other than the law threads or revelation is mentioned it quickly dissolves. That's a sad state of affairs in my book. It seems that some have lost there first love. I'm not judging its an observation. This imo is the state the church is in.
Jesus said he has come to do the work of the father, and has ask us to do the same.

When he says he has had a 'shalem' heart in God's sight, Hezekiah is saying he has had a clean conscience -- not a 'pure heart' free from sin.
That when he has sinned, he has confessed it, so that his heart is at peace. That he has humbled himself before God.

i don't know Hebrew or Greek at all - only how to look things up - but something that lives inside me says that this is the truth.

Only one person stuck around when Christ charged that the man without sin should cast the first stone: no one was left except Jesus :)

There are alot of good threads that fall in the back pages because no one posts in them....not enough controversy.

Maybe that is a question you should be asking yourself.

This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham: NIV

Nope, the copyrighted Bibles also record Jesus as the son of David.

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:27

Job 2:3
3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

So I take it that they messed up the translation of that scripture too.

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Gen 6:9

Which according to the NIV was translated as stating that Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.

So did the copyrighted translation get it wrong trying to get it right?

The subject of THIS thread is the mangling of Jesus words. There is no mention of the rest of the NT in the OP.
Why you want to take this down a rabbit hole is a mystery to me.

Officermayo,

This is the first thread I have read of yours - but I like you already!:)
You obviously think outside of the box, have a sense of humour and display humility.
I am so sorry about your eyesight .....I will be adding that to my prayerlist.
Don't let people with nitpicking/ contentious attitudes get you down.
God bless you and welcome to the forums!

Blameless isn't the same as sinless...

Jesus is the only sinless man who walked this earth...

Many are made blameless by the grace of God who forgives their sins because of the blood and their humble and contrite hearts.

John 8:9
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

So a clean conscience means what again?

Might be worms, been eating any raw poke prouducts? Seems if it was the Spirit of Truth dwelling in you then there wouldn't be any necessity to look things up. I only look things up to make sure I heard correctly. I could say James 1:18 but I ain't.

John 8:10-11
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Yes, but unrelated.
Too many other maladies to list here.

Nothing like taking one mistake in the KJV and compounding it with using another mistake to support it.

The woman caught in adultery, while a nice story, appears in none of the earliest manuscripts. Therefore you are supporting a mistake with a passage that really isn't in the original!

But it feel free to try with your translation with all the mistakes, again!

To love him with all our heart.mind and soul...to pick up our cross and follow him....we are called to be "others oriented" to make ourselves of no reputation. This can only be done by the grace of the Lord, the work of the holy spirit and the love of Christ.

I was just replying to posthuman's post which referenced that passage in support of his perspective, I merely submitted the remaining text to reflect the context in which it was given.

I am sure he will appreciate the input. I know I do, thank you.

Why you don't believe it? Or you seem to pick the parts that matches the heresy you are trying to sell to others ... Is Pauls Epistles the Word of the Living God or not?

Anyone that denies that Pauls epistles are the very Living words of Christ ..is in fact a heretic ..its that simple ...that is the very definition of a heretic ..
