The Miami Marlins ace pitcher passed yesterday and Dee Gordon, who had 8 career home runs in six seasons coming into this game and zero this season, hit a lead off home run wearing his jersey. You can't script this stuff.

that is really special. I had heard the pitcher died, but I didn't know about the home run

I'm exhausted today. I was sitting at work helping a child work on a puzzle and I thought I was going to fall asleep. The child isn't boring, I was just so tired. I did teach them how to write the letter D and the number 2, th y all did very well. Last Friday was lower case e. That and lower case q is a tough one for kid's, every year those are the tough ones. I also had a child tell me that I smell like root beer, I don't but maybe to him I do. Last week one of the kid's said, Miss Jen your hair gets fuzzy sometimes. So I smell like root beer and I have fuzzy hair. That must be very attractive.
Well, it's more attractive than smelling like beer and having fuzzy vision! ;)

Yeah :/. The home run just happened like maybe 45 minutes ago. A fitting moment for sure.
Not to take away from that moment, but almost as shocking is that Colon is still pitching! Lol

I wasnt like Goldilocks all sweet and nice either like some young women who go in to teaching and don't know how to discipline
This is Pre-school so I'm not the Terminator or anything. My goal is to get them to love or at least like learning. The teacher I work with uses a lot of the Montessori methods the kid's are using tools to learn and we aren't sitting in one spot all day. I love Montessori education I wish all schools taught the Montessori way.

Haha that guy may never retire. He didn't pitch well today, but still a 3.42 ERA at age 43.
My Nephew is a pitcher in college. He's been pitching since he was very young. He spends his Summers on different City teams. I don't know if it's Minor Leauge or double A, something like that. Sometimes he's scouted by people from the Major league. In high school he had to have shoulder surgery because of the pitching. That was 5 years ago and he's been fine since. I know his dream is to be on a Pro team, he is in college for Hotel Management, I'm glad he has a back up plan. I've watched him work so hard at baseball forever and I know there are a lot of good players but I'd cry tears of joy for him if he made it. I'd love to see my little buddies dream come true. He's about 6ft 1 and he has towered over me since about age 14, but he's still my little buddy.

I remember one time, back when I lived in Calgary, I was walking to the bus stop and it was SO cold, it was apparently colder than Antarctica that day. There were warnings that people shouldn't go outside if they can help it. I felt like my eyes were frozen and my face felt like it would fall right off.
Ohh how I hate the cold D:
Lol, your description of cold is just fantastic, because that's a daily thing in a Wyoming winter. I hibernate, because that's all you can do, here. I feel bad for the guys who go outside to work. My poor hubby :p

Now I feel better, thank you! A couple of weeks ago I had a cold and had a menthol cough drop in my mouth and one of the kid's said my breath smelled like bad feet. Lol.

This is gross but when it's really cold outside and I go out and breath through my nose, it feels like everything in my nose freezes. It's actually sort of refreshing, I know TMI.

You know you're a nerd/weird when you always automatically refer to children and baby animals as younglings, offspring, and/or padawans.

Oh no! Not just any youngling can be a padawan! My best friend refers to his offspring as spawns, though... That's perfectly acceptable. ^_~

I wanted to like that show. I saw a trailer for it and was like yea this looks pretty good! Then I saw an episode on youtube and found it to be very melodramatic (like pretty much everything else on youtube...).

5 hours and no one else has posted in here...

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that life is really just a never-ending series of desires and trying to fulfill them...

Whether it be figuring out what to eat next time you're hungry, or trying to win an olympic gold medal, its all a series of desires and trying to fulfill them... Even wanting to be a good christian in order to please God is a desire.
