Romans chapters 9-11 makes it seem as though Jews do not have salvation. Then suddenly one verse, Romans 11.26 turns everything upside down for me when it says all Israel shall be saved. What does this mean? People who denied Jesus have salvation anyway because they were Jews or does the word Israel refer to Gentiles who believe in Jesus? Or does it mean something else?

Rom 9 is paul answering the question, Has God failed (vs 6) The answer is no. Being A Jew does not guarantee anyone heaven, (a popular thought among Jews) And God did not chose Israel because their fathers were righteous people (He chose them before the nations were born) and it does not matter, Whether jew or gentile. you all saved the same way.

Rom 11 is paul letting us know. Just because Israel failed, and are blinded in part. Because they rejected God..(as a nation) There will come a day when they will repent, and the whole nation will be saved,, So do not think to highly of yourself (as Gentiles) ie, God is not done with Israel..

Right now the Jewish people have been blinded until all the Gentiles have heard the Gospel. When the anti-christ comes he will first make peace in the middle east then he will turn on the Jews. They will realize that Jesus really was their Messiah and many will be saved. Some people differ on the phrase "all" and say some of the Jews will be saved. Either way Jews will be saved through Jesus the same as we are.

So when Israel repents it will be those who are alive at the time who shall be saved, not unbelieving Jews from yesteryear.

No one is saved apart from repenting and having faith in Christ.

Rom 11:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
[SUP]27 [/SUP]For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”

God opens their minds, and their hearts. God turns them from their evil ways, and rejecting Gods messiah.. The OT says Isreal will repent, God will give life to dry bones, He will restore them when they repent, He will again be their God. in lev 26 he says, I will remember my promise, He says the same thing in Rom 11.. at thise time they may be my enemy, but they are beloved, Because Gods promises never end..

Isreal will be saved when they repent. When they repent, God will remember his covenant with their fathers, That is what romans 11 is about.

The Jews know Jesus is the Messiah and slowly but surely they are starting to believe it as well.

Many of the people in the Old Testament knew Jesus but as salvation (Yeshua) :)

Thanks for sharing the other Scriptures, bro. That definitely ties things together and puts it in perspective.

When I was with the Jewish people in hospice work, I noticed that in talking about their impending death, they would totally understand the mercy of God. Even when I officiated at their funerals, I pulled a lot of the mercy scriptures from Psalms, etc. As Christians we understand that mercy came through Jesus Christ - and that is where they are blocked.

But that mercy is so wrapped around some of their hearts towards the end, that I often wondered if Christ met them as they died and revealed Himself to them. Just wondered.

Most of Israel had been scattered in the Nations, so the idea is that "a hardening has come upon part of Israel".

- which part? The Jews (& Levites & Benjamites) -

So that the message goes to the Nations, and in doing so goes to the scattered tribes. Thus "All Israel" is saved.

but as regards election they are beloved, for the sake of the fathers ....

Who are the fathers?
Acts 3 13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers patēr has glorified his servant Jesus

Abraham - Isaac - Jacob - the fathers (= the 12 tribes)

Act 7:8 And so Abraham
became the father of Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs. patriarchēs

Jews have salvation the same as everybody else, which the Bible says God has not cast away His people that He once foreknew, and if God can graft a Gentile that is a wild branch by nature in to the olive tree, how much more can He graft a Jew that is the natural branch in to the olive tree, and God said that even though Israel may not be in the truth,God always has a remnant that follow Him in the truth,as also this day.

So Israel may at sometimes majority wise not be in the truth, but there are always some that are in the truth, like when Israel turned away to falseness, but God said,I have reserved to Myself 7000 Jews who did not bow the knee to Baal.

But all that will change in the future,as all of Israel will come to the truth.

God said if the ordinances in heaven, the sun, moon, and stars, are in effect, then His covenant is still with Israel.

God has not cast away His people that He once foreknew.

I am the LORD,I change not, therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Before Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives, the disciples asked Jesus,Lord will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel, which Jesus said, the Father will do it in His time, but go your way,and preach the Gospel.

God will send Israel 2 witnesses to turn them to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah, which Jesus said the Jews will not see Him again until they say, blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.

God said He will make a full end of all Gentile nations where the Jews were scattered, but will not make a full end of Israel, although they will not be wholly unpunished, and when they have borne their shame for their sins and iniquities against Him,the rejection of Jesus, the kingdom on earth shall be restored to them in the millennial reign of Christ.

Blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in,and so all Israel shall be saved.

Which means that Israel as a nation does not accept Jesus as Messiah, and is in partial truth, for they still hold the Old Testament, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in,which is when salvation is no longer available to the Gentiles, and so all Israel shall be saved, the kingdom restored to them in the millennial reign of Christ, and Israel will be the only operating government, and no Gentile government will be in operation, and Jesus and the saints will rule over one sixth of the people that fought against Israel,in which God saved Israel, which is the battle of Armageddon.

Israel is blinded in part means that Israel as a nation does not accept Jesus as Messiah, but there are Jews today that believe Jesus is the Messiah, which God said He has some that are in the truth, but Israel as a nation must come to the truth, but they will for God will see to it according to His promise to restore the kingdom to them, and cause them to see the truth, after they have borne their shame for the rejection of truth, and then the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went in to captivity for their sins and iniquities against God,so God hid His face from them, but will bring back the captivity of Jacob, the whole house of Israel, and shall restore the kingdom to Israel, and shall set His glory among the heathen, and they shall know that He is God,and none shall make Israel afraid anymore.

JAMES 2:5.
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,
and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love Him?

Jug. 19:30.
And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day
that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day:
consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.

PS. 22:23.
Ye that fear the LORD, praise Him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him,
all ye the seed of Israel.

98:3.
He hath remembered His mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel:
all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

130:8
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

ISA. 45:25.
In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

MIC. 2:12.
I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel;
I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold:
they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

ZEK. 9:1.
The burden of The Word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof:
when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward The LORD.

ACTS 2:36.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus,
whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

10:36.
The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all:)

REV. 7:4.
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed
an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

I agree with you but let me add,,this If you as a Jew accept Jesus Christ as your savior and repent your sins, you will become part of Jesus' Church.

If you wait, While what 'eternally-grateful' stated is accurate and true, the Bible tells us that during the Tribulations (both half-years) about 2/3 of the Jewish nation will die. Now, if you have died in the Martyrdom of Jesus Christ, you will be ok. but if not???????

Would think about it real good, time is shorter than you think.

Is everybody that goes to church, professes Christ, serves in the name of Jesus, Gives in the name of Jesus, Stop's sinning in the name of Jesus saved? No. there are many fakers. But the TRUE church will be saved. ALL in the TRUE Church will be saved.

Same as Israel. Some profess of being true Israel, but they are not. Only all true Israel will be saved.

True Israel Trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation. Just at the time we see Christ suffering for them on the cross........there were Just a few in true Israel.

Romans 9:KJV
6 ¶Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

When He says all Israel will be saved He is taking about the true Israel of God...He is not talking about the genetic Israel who are physical descendants of Israel... Spiritual Israel will be saved.. Carnal Israel which is not Israel will be lost..

PS: Clarification... Some people who are of Physical Israel are also members of Spiritual Israel... Paul was one of them :D

this always comes up when folks start discussing Paul's teachings of "all Israel" being saved...........what surprises me is how often folks just do not acknowledge the "disclaimer" Paul placed on his teachings........wonder why?

Romans 11:23) And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Pretty clear to me that any person who continues to practice the Jewish religion, and does not confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will not be saved.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, there is no male and female for you are all one in Christ.

1 Timothy 4:10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the saviour of ALL people especially to those who believe

Amen brother, if we don't understand this we will always have to give our own interpretations of verses like this:

Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Israel was never about DNA but about who is willing to turn away from the world back to God (shuv)

Very valid point, you have Jewish religion called the Talmud and then God's Word (Torah)
