haha love the pic magenta, funny thats just how i eat peanuts shells and all.
Good fiber, huh? Hey, Jay, could you clarify whether you meant people eating the food while on the job, like having a burger and fries etc for lunch, or if you meant removing food from the premises? Thank you, and my apologies if you have already made this point :D

The point being made was that food establishments used to allow employees to freely eat of what was available during work hours, at least on lunch breaks etc., whereas now BK (as per OP) does not allow anyone to eat anything... actually the OP said you are not allowed to take food, which does seem to imply that people were removing food from the premises. That seems a different issue altogether, also known as stealing. I can see why any establishment would have a problem with such, as opposed to people eating the food while on their breaks, if allowed by said establishment :)
Oops I wasn't directing my post at what you said. I see how that came off with the timing of my post

the owner is also the one that makes all the money from the investment, they are also the leader, there was a time a leader was responsible for setting an example, they had no shame in working side by side with employees. now the example they present is make as much money as possible, pay as little possible, and give as little benefit as possible. is this a great example?
so its the poor person at fault, they just dont work hard enough. it doesnt seem to add up with the stats that show working folks have to work longer hours every year and the harder they work the bigger the gap between rich and poor gets. guess they will just have to work harder.
One-third for overhead (store, employees, bills, assets.)
One-third for taxes.
One-third for marketing, development and profit. What the owner "makes" comes out of part of one-third.
(Might help if you understand Business basics.)

As for "poor person's fault?" McJobs are starter jobs -- jobs to teach a person what's acceptable at work and what isn't. Don't want to be stuck at the bottom? Then learn the skills to rise up. Or, like most of us, learn a vocation instead of a McJob. I'm not big on socialism.

store owner goes on vacation to europe once a year, employee has no idea what a vacation is. might help you understand the reality of it.

they are starter jobs for kids still living at home. for some they are the only jobs available.

If I worked in Mac or Burger King I wouldn't want to be eating their food at least not
every week. Maybe once a month at most.

Anyone who stops their employees snacking on fries and burgers every
day is doing them a big favour. It would be a heart attack or stroke waiting to
happen.
My twin brother has worked almost forever at McDonald's; following his life-
threatening brain aneurysm many years ago, he did cut down on the number
of burgers, fries, and Cokes he consumes :D Maybe the hot apple pies, too :)
That and walking a lot, has combined to have him looking and feeling great!

No worries, I did not take it that you directed your response at me.
I simply decided to respond to what you said, and then realized that
we needed a bit more clarity from Jay, which I asked for and received :)

It is all good! :D

When I worked in restaurants and food places (KFC and Mary Brown) we were allowed to eat whatever was available while on our breaks :D In the restaurant, that meant I could make my own lunch, like an omelet that was not even on the menu LOL :D
magenta i was thinking you and i should open our very own elf and fairy theme restaurant. we can call it Elf in the box. we will have fairy burgers made from 100% real fairies. my cousin jimmy joe has a catfish and fairy farm so i already got that connection. unicorn rides for the kids and monthly drawings to win your very own elf. i think its a winner!

My daughter works for a fast food place and she has to pay for her food too. It's too bad places can't give their own employees a break.

By the way, I remember when the Whopper was the size of a dinner plate. Now they are just a regular hamburger. They should not be called a Whopper anymore

I agree the whopper was an awesome burger took two hands to eat it but now it's a one handed toy burger.....It sadly is no longer the "king of burgers" :( It used to be eating a whopper was an accomplishment to brag about........now....not so much....

THIS really goes to the heart of Employee pilfering, or, more properly, "grazing" while working. I have never met a Shift Leader/Manager or Owner who would refuse something to eat to an Employee IF THEY WOULD JUST ASK!

Agree 100%. It does not matter what line of work you do: cook, janitor, office executive, or whatever - always work hard and give it your very best. Then, when the right moment comes, each and everyone will see that the old adage of ''ask and ye shall receive'' does work.

I know at mcdonalds that they throw out massive uneaten and non expired food every single day... then they take a count of what was put in the trash before putting it in the dumpsters outside so employees cant get anything, or give any away, and the locks on the dumpsters are to keep the homeless from getting any left overs

I never understood why people who issue tickets for driving infractions yet are not held accountable to those very same laws, receive food either for free or at a discount rate.

These shops wants the police nearby for obvious reasons.

The same rules applies to everyone. Drive safely and no one will pull you over.

I worked food at Disney in my teens, they threw away a lot of food nightly but also donated some stuff. I hate to see good food go to waste, truly, but I guess a lot of companies want to avoid lawsuits from people getting sick

Bribing cops has its rewards.
