there is not much to answer over the church is the spiritual Israel.

Christ is the fulfillment of the atoning sacrifice, therefore there is no other way than through
Christ. In Christ you can still follow some of the tradition and festivals, but not circumcision, or
animal sacrifices, or anything related to the temple as it is no more and no more relevant.

Or are people dualists in salvation terms, so you can be jew and justified, and christian and justified.
In Jesus's words if you followed God you would accept Him, because He is the word of God, ie.
judaism is now dead. I suspect various contributors cannot bring themselves to declare this though

This is the covenant : I will forgive their iniquities, and remember their sins no more

2. The promise about the land/world was not given to Jews (the people of the Law) only, but to us all.

I apologize for not answering sooner. These scriptures were written to assure both Jewish and gentile believers that God sent Jesus for all of mankind. Remembering only Israel had access to His presence before the Cross.

And if Israel do not point to Christ where is their spiritual legitimacy.

It strikes me some claim to follow Christ, but their loyalty is to oppose righteousness and
purity, and anyone who does not acknowledge their version of escatology, which includes
Israel rising from the dead, as if it is the true nation that God blessed. This is so odd also
from a group who believe legalism is the ultimate sin, and the real representatives of this
Israel are actually blessed by God.

Let's forego the childish semantics on "who killed Jesus'. I have zero doubt that all here recognize that it was for all of our sins that Christ died. None of us are deserving of His Grace. But in dealing with the specifics of the matter, who isn't aware that Lazarus' life was also sought because many believed in Jesus on account of him being raised from the dead ? And by whom ? Who was told that the blood of all the prophets from the beginning of the world would be held to their account ? Why ? To simply say this does not make one an antisemite ... unless the writers of the gospels are also included in any such observation. The fact of the matter is that God's plan for man's redemption was fulfilled according to God's desire and wisdom.

Hi Plainguy, Who is Jesus saying woe to? Is it the 5000 he miraculously fed, or the other time he did the same with 4000? Jesus was constantly among crowds, preaching the kingdom of God. If you'll look closer, He's speaking of the Scribes and Pharisees. The religious leaders who took God's word and lived opposite of it. They were hypocrites making a show on the outside, but inside they were full of dead men's bones. And the reason the responsibility of all those deaths were dumped on that generation of religious leaders is because they now how God in the flesh walking among them and they still rejected their God and still continued to murder the prophets sent to them.

I cannot judge Luther,only God can. But his total hatred of the Jews presents a problem for him making heaven. We will have to see how the Lord judged him in the end.
