You have to jump through the hoops of religious fanaticism while doing 57 good works a day......or maybe 1 more work....and another work and another work and another work......................I hope you are not one short......!

In heaven for all eternity we will be proclaiming " Worthy is the Lamb"

It will never be - "Worthy is the Lamb...and me because I did my part to keep myself righteous by what I did.."

Can the Lord save us despite ourselves?

It strikes me in this world of free will, the Lord has created things so we respond openly and
open the doors of our heart, and he will come in and dwell with us.

But if he forces it, it will destroy us and who we are. We are very fragile, and very flawed.
So though the Lord has done the impossible, we still have to respond and open to allow
the Lord access to change us.

It makes all this God will do it just junk, because we have closed our hearts off.
If you know anything about repressed emotion you know it is like dynamite, popping up
out of control, without any predictability causing chaos. To bring order, you have to work
through and face your feelings.

It is the love in our hearts that is the key. Once this is resolved, the hurts can be dealt
with, sins forgiven, balances restored, emotions settle into an appropriate place.

Without the Lord if our inconsistences were left to resolve, we would disappear, into a
disfunctional heap. It is His presence that brings order, appropriateness, scales our worries and
insecurities.

But few go here, or dare even approach the subject because the sea within is too far gone.
Do you see Jesus being like this, or the cross not being a place of resolution. But you, the real
you, has to open the door, and commit to work things through. If you understand the mess Mary
Magdeline was in, you know there is hope for all of us.

But our response is a minor issue, how and what with in not important. I think as normal we
get it very wrong, because we do not see how damaged we are or how fragile and difficult
restoration and healing is.

I agree...the Holy Spirit within us certainly does not bear witness with our spirit in this.

What is bias?

I remember talking to people who exalted God too high, and made man too low.
When God was talked about it was impossible for us to see or know or comprehend.
When man was talked about it was how evil and lost he was without any redeeming qualities.

So it is surprising that God would become a man and dwell with us, make us His friends and
die for the forgiveness of our sins.

Stranger yet that this King will not violate our free will or force us to respond, or take us
over and treat us like robots, where He flicks the switches. This King comes and asks us
to respond, gives us the ability to love, to be, to know, to dwell with Him is we want to.

So the response I see, are to be expected to those who have not really encountered our
Lord and been touched by His love. For them it will always been alienation, and disgust
because nothing else makes sense to them.

Jesus said to be His disciple we have to drink His blood and eat His flesh.
So the most precious King has to be the one who sustains and gives us life.

And if we do not respond, we dishonour His work, if we do not dwell, we reject the love
so overwhelmingly given, we are not adding to His work but walking as living sacrifices
to Him, a praise offering of thanks.

Mary when she washed Jesus's feet with her hair, did so as an outflow of her heart.
It was not earning anything, because nothing can be earnt, it was a gift of gratitude
freely given. This is our lives, this is our desire, this is our Praise to the King of Kings.

I actually expect nothing more from the obvious suspects, because I now understand them
and know there is no bridge or commonality of faith here. But with another group we are
one body, one mind and one soul. Let us follow our King into glory for the praise of His
name.

He already did do it despite ourselves. It is rather absurd that you wonder if God can accomplish this without wretched man.

Maybe you can help Him out a little in your false gospel of 'Christ didn't do enough' (that's blasphemous, by the way)? Seems like a puny god to me to need help accomplishing what He decreed He would accomplish alone before the world began; Ephesians 1.

'For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.' - Hebrews 10:14

There's more of the problem, you have man above God. People who 'exalted God too high'? I mean, what is this? Man could never exalt God too high. You have deeper theological issues than initially thought.

Let's see; hmmm, 'I rebuke you, you've exalted God way too high. The LORD rebuke thee for that!' LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'd say it's unbelievable, but it isn't anymore. Exalt God too high?????????????? I know that 'wisdom' didn't come from above.

What is it we discover?

That man always want salvation his way, with his emphasis and constraints, his inabilites
and lack of responsibility, and his reading of everything.

The church does not mind making a statement of faith, and then sitting there playing
politics with the community. We find it so hard to face our failures, to resolve our conflicts
and hurts, to change and be vulnerable, with God and with each other.

I have met many believers who would say I have no right to know what is happening inside
them, or to help, or to even dare consider they could benefit from help.

Do you know what this actually means in spiritual terms? Do not touch me, I am closed off.
You do not know me and I refuse to let you in.

The Lord of all said this

You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
John 15:14-16

Here is God being totally open and sharing. And we are called to be like Him.

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 cor 11:1

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21

But you will find faith is a very private affair and most will take deep offence if you
pry or go where it is not wanted. And I understand this, but I also understand love
set free in ones heart does not work like this. But again I doubt many of you know
what this actually means. Christ never desired we were bound and secrete like this,
but free trusting and open.

It has taken me 5 years of slow sharing and change to bring some forward and be
more open and adventurous with the Lord and His people. What has surprised me
is the emotional violence some will use to try and shut one up, because the pain inside
is so deep and so fresh, and the betrayal felt so difficult, even in faith, trust is hard to
show.

Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. It is from the start all by grace through faith. As we have received Christ our Lord - so we walk in Him.

The gnostics said God could never come in the flesh.
Other groups deny God would ever be the messiah, saying that Jesus was created
not God in human form.

This is exalting God too high.
One Islamic religious group said weather forcasting was evil because it predicted Gods
will in terms of the weather so was limiting what God could do, so was blasphemy.

So I am sorry to say, men do limit God in the wrong ways when He declares Himself
what He will or will not do. And calling me blaspheming is not a surprise either.

Gods love knows no boundaries, or how He expresses himself.
God used prostitutes, wild men, lions, the Babilionians, dreadful situations to make His
points.

What is for sure, is in the darkness you walk, as if you knew the light.
And whatever the enemy tries, still Gods purposes work for His elect.
Amen.
