The Cross of Christ, i.e., Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, has given the Believer victory in every capacity of life.

Our union with Christ gives the Believer guaranteed victory:

Victory over sin: Romans 8:1-2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14 ; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the devil: Hebrews 2:14 ; Colossians 2:15

No man or woman can change their life without the Holy Spirit. Can an Ethiopian change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots? Neither can you start doing good, for you have always done evil. Jeremiah 13:23

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must maintained Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. This allows the Holy Spirit to help us as we grow in grace and change us into Christlikeness. The Holy Spirit only works in the parameters of Jesus Christ and His Finished Work at Calvary's Cross. Only the Holy Spirit can mortify the deeds of the flesh (Romans 8:13).

Only the Holy Spirit which is the power source can mortify the deeds of the flesh and transform us into Christlikeness (Romans 8:13). Humility and obedience starts with following God's prescribe order of victory which is "The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus", i.e., Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus.

Paul also makes it very clear in Romans 8:10 that the physical body has been rendered helpless because of the Fall; consequently, the Believer trying to overcome by willpower presents a fruitless task. Only the Holy Spirit can make us what we ought to be, which means we cannot do it ourselves; once again, He performs all that He does within the confines of the Finished Work of Christ.

If you miss the main thing, than all the work you do is in vain. Without faith the information flow stops, ceases, lessens, drips, rather than being full force with more data on God fulfilling what His word proclaims He will and can do.

Remember, God only awards righteousness by maintaining faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work. Romans 4:5

The Holy Spirit, He Works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "the Cross of Christ", which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation. Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross, understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory. When we stay "victory" we are speaking Victory in every capacity, be it spiritual, financial, domestically, physical, etc. God's Prescribed Order of Victory is "the Cross of Christ."

The Way Of The Spirit
Focus: The Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
Object Of Faith: The Cross of Christ (Romans 6:1-14)
Power Source: The Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-2, 11)
Results: Victory (Romans 6:14)

Man's Way
Focus: Works.
Object Of Faith: Performance.
Power Source: Self.
Results: Defeat!

If a Christian will and your efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do. Jesus said deny self and pick up your cross and follow me.

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

1. Jesus Christ is the source of all blessings.
2. The Cross is the means by which all blessings are given.
3. The object of our faith must be Christ and the Cross.
4. That being done, the Holy Spirit will greatly help us.

Everything that man does dies; everything Jesus does lives forever and is blessed. Psalm 1:3 John 15:5

While porn is not advisable, I'm not sure how it would destroy intimacy with the Lord, except for the fact that all sin tends to separates us from His righteousness.. And I know couples who claim that porn has enhanced their sex life. But I agree, Christians shouldn't uncover the nakedness of anyone except their spouse, as boring as that might get to be :)

Pornography can be extremely addictive. I would advise Christians to try to avoid it at all costs. For people who already are addicted to it, trying to break away from it even for a week or less can be very difficult.

Jesus says "ANYONE who looks at a woman (or a man) to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." And the Bible says perversion will not go unpunished. Lust is completely void of love, and love is completely void of lust.

The Bible says that if you can't control yourself you should marry- to keep yourself only onto your spouse- not onto naked people on a computer screen (or magazine etc). It is a sin, an evil of great measure. Look at the wrath of the prostitute in Revelation, and think twice, because even without the action of actually doing it, you will be found guilty of adultery just the same.

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

"Come out of her My people, or you will share in her wrath."

A poll conducted by "one of the world's most visited Christian websites" indicates a surprising number of Christians are getting addicted to pornography.

"The poll results indicate that 50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography.

The group defines "addicted" as applied to pornography as use on an ongoing basis.

"We are seeing an escalation to the problem in both men and women who regularly attend church," said Bill Cooper, President of ChristiaNet.com.

"No one is immunized against the vice-grip clutches of sexual addictive behaviors," reads a release issued by the site. "The people who struggle with the repeated pursuit of sexual gratification include church members, deacons, staff, and yes, even clergy."

How many Christians (especially) men can honestly say, "whenever I am tempted to lust, I NEVER give in." I have 100% conquered that sin. No problem?

If David, who was “a man after God’s own heart,” and many other strong men and women of faith yielded to sexual temptation, it could happen to any of us. Pornography may be the new addiction of this new century. Researchers are finding that when people indulge in porn, they release powerful chemicals in their brain and body.

Mark Kastleman, author of The Drug of the New Millennium, said, "There are a growing number of therapists and psychologists who are saying that this is as addictive as cocaine," or alcohol, or even heroin. He explained that, when people view porn, "It causes the brain to release what we call endogenous drugs or endogenous chemicals. 'Endogenous' meaning 'produced from within.' So where cocaine or alcohol seek to mimic the brain's natural chemicals, pornography releases the real deal. And so we have things like adrenaline, epinephrine, ACTH."

Due to our fallen nature, we will have to deal with the temptation to lust until we die. The temptation to lust will come in many forms including ungodly sexual appetites; and there are lusts, such as the lust of power, fame or position. We must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit inside us to overcome lust every day. No matter the form of lust we face, we can be assured that we have a High Priest and Advocate with the Father who "understands every weakness of ours" and "was tempted in every way that we are. But He did not sin" (Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 2:1). 1 Corinthians 6:18 says to flee sexual immorality!

It's best to avoid it completely. God doesn't want us to pollute ourselves with that stuff. Keep the sexual desires in a marriage between husband & wife.

I agree....I treat some posts here just like I do for the porn ads that pop up once in a while on my PC. Both are defiling.

Christians are going to porn to try to get "life" because their religion isn't producing the fruit of real life. If we are not living by the truth of the gospel - we will go to other places to find that life. Real life is only found in Christ Himself.

Say "yes" to the gospel of the finished work of Christ and the life of Christ in us and porn and all other things will fall off us like dead leaves.

The only way to say no to your addictions and your idols; Repent.

Matthew 11:28-29

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Everyone is inclined more to one particular type of sin. For those of us whose major area of struggle is already lust, porn feeds the monster and can completely take over. Like brother Dan pointed out, it's what crack is to a druggie. Constantly on the back burner of your mind and altering the way you think and look at life. And then you start wanting more... diversity. And then more. But you're never satisfied. Not only does porn feed lust, but it plants and nurtures depression. Sin leads to unbelief, so while you may not be able to convince yourself of the nonexistence of God it does take effect, dropping out of church, stopping praying, etc...

My thoughts?

Porn is filthy and vile. I say that having seen a great deal of it in my younger years.

As I aged and traveled my peculiar little path, I came to an understanding that, at least for me personally, things like pornography were much more harmful than I had first realized. It was after having separated myself from that particular affliction that I was able to look objectively and see that modern society, by and large, is completely saturated with sex and sexuality. These are wicked times we live in friends. Wicked times indeed.

April 12, 2016 Utah Declares Pornography ‘Public Health Crisis’
https://www.thetrumpet.com/article/...tah-declares-pornography-public-health-crisis

One study, published in Sexual Addiction & Compulsivity, found that college men
exposed to mainstream pornography within the past 12 months were more likely
to admit that they would commit rape or sexual assault if they knew they wouldn’t
get caught.

The attorney correctly identifies the government’s responsibility, but where the
government has failed, it is imperative that parents step in to close the breach.

Installing a filter is just one step you can take to protect your children, but there
is much more you can and should do. Don’t allow your child to be on the Internet
in another room behind closed doors.

Proverbs 29:15 warns that “a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.”
Be aware of the websites or chat rooms your child is visiting. Ask the child, but also
learn how to check the Internet history files on your computer. As the parent, you
have the responsibility and the right to know what your children are doing on the
Internet, and an obligation to take steps to protect your children’s minds.

Detoxify Your Family- Technology is turning our children into addicts.
https://www.thetrumpet.com/article/9003.3.0.0/society/drugs/detoxify-your-family

Experts report that schoolchildren are increasingly showing signs of addiction
traditionally exhibited by drug abusers: Symptoms such as obsessive and compulsive
urges to constantly be online, fixations with virtual worlds, and withdrawal from
real-life relationships with family and friends.

More and more children are becoming obsessed with computers and other electronic
gadgets—and the consequences can be as real and damaging as crack cocaine.

Porn is just as addictive as cocaine or heroin. Just one exposure may follow them for
the rest of their lives, affecting their relationships, marriages, character development,
mental health and so much more.

So please Just Say No, and watch out for the little ones.

Lust and/or curiosity. That simple. Maybe you haven't gotten to the age where that's a problem, or maybe you are in that group of blessed people who don't struggle with lust quite as much as others - but those people are few and hard to find. All I can say is, don't go bragging that you would never look at it. Pray that you never do.

It's good you have that mentality of it now. Hopefully it will stay that way as you get older. Smoking & drinking is gross to me while there are people who are addicted to those things. People have their own different sins they deal with

Why do you undermine the suggestions of others? That's the sign of arrogance.
