I can only think of two mainline Christian denominations that believe in eternal security.
Every other one believes in the possible loss of salvation.
Straight and narrow<---few find it as in the minority
Broad and wide<--Most as in the majority

And almost every false denomination has roots in Catholic dogma

Romans 8:1 states that you are not under condemnation if you ARE IN CHRIST.

Maybe you should change your signature line?
I am IN CHRIST.

Maybe you do not understand what it means to be "In Christ?"

How did I come to be "In Christ?

eph 1: 13 - 14 -

[SUP]13 [/SUP]In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who[SUP][a][/SUP] is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

John 3: 14 - 18
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, [SUP]15 [/SUP]that whoever believes in Him should not perish but[SUP][b][/SUP] have eternal life. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. [SUP]18 [/SUP]“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

romans 10: 8 - 13
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”[SUP][e][/SUP] (that is, the word of faith which we preach): [SUP]9 [/SUP]that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”[SUP][f][/SUP] [SUP]12 [/SUP]For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. [SUP]13 [/SUP]For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

eph 2: 8- 9

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [SUP]9 [/SUP]not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Well, if you're IN CHRIST you're saved.

If you're NOT IN CHRIST, you're not saved.

Romans 10:11
"Whoever BELIEVES in Him..."
Present tense.

Romans 10:11

There is one problem with your thought.

Whoever believes in him has eternal life.. It means they are alive and that life is eternal (they will never die)

Whoever believes is saved (rom 10)

You can not clam a person is saved, if they can still be unsaved and head to hell.

Which means the fact is, it is not just mere belief, it is saving faith. It is not wishy washy, It is based on a hope. a hope that God, who can not lie, promised before time began, that hope? Eternal life.

If I do not have eternal life, I have no hope. if i have no hope. I have no faith. If I have no faith, I AM NOT SAVED.

That verb is not even present tense, it is aorist tense, it means somethign that happened in the past. and is presently in an active state. And will always be in an active state.

you also have an issue with verse 13. Where it says whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be (future tense) saved. It means their salvation is assured.

NOTHING in that passage states if that belief is later lost, the person will lose the salvation they were given when they first believed.

Get ready...she has a FRIEND that knows the GREEK forwards and backwards and they discuss ALL the time how OSAS is not there....OF course one who believes you can lose it has a friend that KNOWS Greek forward and backwards......

Makes me want to spew....how they take the work and faith of JESUS and spit on it and then interject themselves into the equation and base salvation upon your own ability.......

End of conversation.
You know....You come in here...how long now?....you accuse us of being confused, or wrong or in error.....you think we just whip this stuff out of a hat, that we do not study, that we do not spend countless hours reading and studying the bible, you cite sources that have no bearing on the conversations and then tell us that JESUS and his work/faith is NOT SUFFICIENT....

ALL the workers for do this...NO, JESUS is not GOOD enough, his WORK HIS faith is NOT sufficient....we can LOSE something that is ETERNAL, while ignoring the verses that CLEARLY STATES THAT GOD DOES EVERYTHING ETERNALLY.........

BUT when we lay some HEAT down to DEFEND our beliefs...people get so offended..........

THE BIBLE IS CLEAR...if one could LOSE it...NO ONE IS SAVED and we are ALL going to COOK because NONE, NO ONE, NADDA, ZERO people OTHER than JESUS have walked FAITHFULLY 100% of the time every second of every minute of every day of every month of every year.....

JESUS is the only one and that is WHY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS APPLIED by FAITH unto all who ACKNOWLEDGE HIM IN FAITH.

GOD SAID...WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD I WILL PASS OVER YOU....

WHATSOEVER GOD DOES IT IS EVERLASTING.............ECCLESIASTES 3:14

You do understand that God does not rule by majority opinion, right?

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

One is in Christ and being saved until the redemption of our bodies if they are walking in the law of the Spirit, having heart purity, and at peace with God and all men/women...Otherwise they unknowingly worship the image of the beast..

My question is simple. Christ died upon the cross to demonstrate His love for us and
to show us we are forgiven of our sins if we put our faith in Him.

So when someone appears to put faith in Christ, but misses the message and walks
away, how are they trusting in Christ or knowing what he represents or rather in
denial and rebellion against everything God is saying.

Why should God honour such a person or a position, because it is just saying what
you believe and support does not matter, it is whether you bought a ticked at some
time in the past or not. This has never been what the Kingdom of heaven is about,
it is a kingdom of love conquering all, the cross being our revelation and hurt being
healed through the Holy Spirit. Anything else is a denial of this overwhelming reality.

And those who preach defeat and safety without faith, they are not of the Lord. Nothing
in scripture says you are saved in rebellion, rather the opposite, there is no hope.
How much more a fool is a man who walked in the ways of God, tasted the things of
heaven yet now walks in the things of this world, as if they hold any meaning at all.

No, I "admit" that true saving faith in Jesus Christ will result in good works.
Amen, because if he have truly believed, and he has seen our hearts and sorrow. He would forgive. As sure as that seed is plant d though that person must be on guard. For th devil will come up and try and snatch the seed of truth least it blossom and produce fruit.

Brothers and sisters, oddly enough I came across this video. Please watch the whole thing, and let me know what you think. I know by works alone we cannot be saved, nor by just faith. It is a combination that is brought forth out of our repentance, and love of God, guided by his spirit of love by following the two greatest commandments first. Causing the Yearning to seeking the truth in study and prayer. Because seeking the truth, is to seek Christ who said, I am the way, the truth and the life. Twice it is written how Christ told people after intervening in their situations go forth and sin no more.... the video is below.

I will speak no more on this myself. This video provides a lot of clear verses pointing to the requirement for people to show dicipline aka Decipleship. Honor your Father in heaven. Live a Holy life, or live a lie, the choice is yours.

Love to you brothers and sisters in Christ

Hi WB,

I'm sure you have some verses describing those 'in Christ' being saved until the resurrection or that 'if' statements and otherwise unknowingly worshiping the image of the beast. And if there is such then there's a need to study it.

Thanks

I wonder what view of Christ is being expressed here and what is going on in their
hearts other than something is very wrong with them.

If someone follows Christ and His word, no matter how flawed and difficult, Amen.
If one attacks people for loving Christ and listening to Him we are not following Him
ourselves. It is between Christ and each believer through the ministry of the Holy
Spirit to work things out. Unless ofcourse you no longer believe this is how God
works.

Imagine we are a light bulb. The light bulb works two ways.
Either we get on our bicycle and peddle very hard to generate electricity, and it glows a
bit, or we plug into Jesus and we shine like a light.

Now it is the same light bulb shining, but the source of power is either us or Christ.

Somehow people have said, yes you can plug into Christ but this way is evil but that way
is good. To me there is only one question. Plugged into Him, you shine, not plugged into
Him you do not shine. Not really that complex.

Face sinful behaviour, get real, and get the cross. No compromise.

Imagine a person sitting down to two meals.

One meal is gone off food, rotten eggs, putrid drinks.
The other meal is clean vegetables, nice flavoured meats, good water and deserts.

Why would someone who has tasted the good meal return to the other and say they
are the same or the first has value over the second?

Why would the person who insists the first meal is better than the second be taken
seriously as anyone of value?

Only someone who has never tasted the second meal, and thinks there is no difference
and both are polluted, so why differentiate. Only the elect will know different, but only
the elect matter, because this is the Kingdom of Heaven. By their fruit will you know them.

Actually a biblical view....Jesus even used it himself in Revelation....and when one devalues the work and faith of Christ by interjecting themselves into the equation so as to HELP GOD do what JESUS has already promised to do....it makes me want to spew......

Next?
