Jesus will come with ten thousands of His saints to convince all that are ungodly among us of all your ungodly deeds that you have ungodly committed and not repented from!! Murmerers, mockers, and complainers... WOE TO ALL WHO CONTINUE IN THEIR SIN! Don't you know that our righteous and JUST God turned the ENTIRE cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes, making them an making them an example for ALL that would live ungodly AFTER them?! If you are a believer you have the actual Spirit of God living inside of you making your body the temple of God, ARE YOU DEFILING IT WITH SIN?!

The whole context in 1 Cor. 3 is talking about what type of a foundation teachers/ministers are building.

It must be remembered that in context, Paul was speaking about ministers and whether or not they were building up God’s church with the proper teaching ( 1 Corinthians 3:10).
Therefore, Paul’s teaching here about defiling the temple of God is not speaking specifically to individuals doing something to defile themselves, but it is rather a warning against anyone defiling the church with wrong teaching.

This would include Paul and Apollos (1 Corinthians 3:5-6), but it also would refer back to those individuals whom Paul rebuked in the first chapter for causing division in the body at Corinth.

This is a warning especially for ministers, that they had better make sure they are speaking God’s Word for they will have to give an account to God.


Paul was saying that in the same way the Jews would not allow the physical temple in Jerusalem to be defiled, so should they have recognized that God will not allow His spiritual temple in people’s hearts to be defiled.

This is not speaking of God totally damning someone who defiles the temple of God so this is a very stern warning to those who would defile the body of Christ through their wrong teaching.

then he compares these men to natural things... hidden reefs, shepherds feeding themselves, waterless clouds, fruitless trees, etc, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.

Jude is warning the Christians to watch out for this danger in the church.

Individual believer's body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:[SUP]17 [/SUP]But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.[SUP]18 [/SUP]Flee fornication. To lay blame on every one in the church by a man's false teaching whereas the building gets destroyed or a group of believers gets destroyed is not a Biblical truth in the N.T.

It is the body that gets destroyed; physical death which will come to those left behind to face the coming great tribulation.

So 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 is about physical death as per the destruction of the temple of the Holy Spirit for defiling it. It is how the individual believer had laid on that foundation; not how the leaders of the church has laid on the foundation of the "church", especially since not every believer caters to every teaching in the church to be judged in that way.

Those verses are about unrepentant believers that practice sin; not about never committing any future sin at all, otherwise where is the race where we look to the author & finisher of our faith to help us lay aside every weight & sin?

John was addressing errant believers that thought sin has ceased to be sin and so when they commit the act of sin, it is no longer sin, therefore they had not sinned that they need Jesus to forgive them for and to ask Him to help them not to commit that sin again.

It was about walking in the light as Jesus had done. It was not about saying that no believer can ever sin, but recognize that sin is still sin and that Jesus is willing to forgive us of our sins and even go so far to destroy the works of the devil in the lives of new believers in their walk with Him.

Sin shall not have dominion over a believer's life wherein no believer should be living in sin that refuses to repent from that sin, but you should not be discouraged when you slip and sin, because Jesus Christ will forgive you and help you not to sin again. There is a huge difference between an unrepentant believer living in sin and a believer that sin but yet ask Jesus for forgiveness and leans on Him for help not to do it again.
