Does God change His mind about us based of what we do?

Yes. Sinners doomed to the lake of fire.
Believers who follow Christ, communion and life eternal.

Or is it elect, chosen for some arbitary idea or notion have eternal life
The non elect to be tormented in hell forever for the sins they have commited
because stealing those sweets deserves roasting in the flames forever.

I can really see the logic here.

Or all sins are forgiven, but if you have the right faith formula everything is sweet
else its roasting time...

This type of post has ZERO to do with this thread....and reeks of a severe lack of truth.....

Do you read what you write...go read post 288....one minute accusing us who believe in grace and the scriptures of this thread to the above in this post....you vacillate more than a neon colored sign in Vegas.......one second blessings......the next accusations and attributing things not implied or stated by no one....like a pendulum on a grandfather clock...back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...........

Peter...like I said....we will never agree...different theologies, ideologies and beliefs.....
tick toc goes the clock, the hour comes but does the man.
The books are opened but what is in them.

I testified to the words of Christ or I denied the words of Christ so he has denied me.

I was tested, and I stood true to love and righteousness, or I folded and compromised
and to save my life, my wealth I betrayed my friends to the enemy.

I knew a pastor who fell in love with another mans wife. His marriage he was in was
not the "right" marriage, and should not have happened, so the "right" marriage was
Gods will for his life. Funny how emotions bend so quickly the morality of a person
so anything can be spun as justified, any indulgence, any job, any expenditure, any
thing that you really deserve. Just one more little wafer...

Luke 5:32
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

1 John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

theres alot of context left out of this 1 scripture.

1 John 1:6-10" If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

its about being forgiven of our sins, and cleansed from all unrighteousness.

1 john 3:5-10 "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness..and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin...... And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins;....For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."

oh yes, the Truth is very beautiful, but lies are deceitful and very ugly, no matter
the covering, no matter how deceitfully spoken...

People don't take into account other people when they espouse their sinless perfection doctrine. If someone says they are sinless....you can bet I will poke and prod til I find it.

So...do you sin or not? Or MAYBE your missing the fact that it is the SPIRIT that is BORN of incorruptible seed and it NEVER SINS...but it is bound in a dead BODY of sin that is WEAK and occasionally sins.....

SO....either you sin occasionally by failing in weakness or you say that YOU never sin....which is it?

I always like to use the analogy of the Germans during the reign of the nazis. There were death camps that needed maintenance. They needed secretaries and plumbers and electricians. I don't think I need to explain this anymore except that before you go spouting off about how righteous you are....consider that doing so may be tempting God into putting you into circumstances to see how pure you really are.

No offense meant to anyone, but I cannot imagine a Spirit indwelt believer that would have the desire to say "I do not sin". The Spirit of God will convict us of sin, how can there be no conviction of sin(and please don't tell me you are perfect)?

John was clear.....wrote in present tense and included himself.....IF we say that we have NO SIN we are deceived and the truth is NOT IN US....

IMAGINE this......THOSE who say they are SINLESS...

a. ARE deceived
b. HAVE NO TRUTH dwelling in them

Because they are living a perpetual LIE!

id say this is rather clear without any explaination.

James 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

No one has any room to say what sin is to each other is the thing, what is sin for one, may not be to another because sin is Knowing what is right, and Not doing it. as Knowledge Grows, so does the definiton of sin to that person and what we Know is Known to God through the spirit. its a personal thing Between the believer and God. constant growth. its not impossible to do what we Know is right if we are born of the spirit and submit to God, its our nature to do the right thing. its never changed from the beginning

Genesis 4:6 "And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

its always been do whats right.

They will argue in favour of sin till the cows come home for the purpose of self justification.........Jesus said go and sin no more...God told Cain he could rule over sin, they tell you cant.......Believe God and depart from the feeble traditions of men..

You can quote this till the cows come home and IT WILL NOT change the fact and truth of the scripture I POSTED that JOHN wrote in the present tense while including himself....nor does it alleviate all of the verses in the thread such as the OP....

John was clear...again you fail to understand it is the spirit that is BORN AGAIN OF INCORRUPTABLE seed....bound in a weak body of SIN....

JESUS covers this concept....

THE spirit is indeed willing BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK

PAUL covered this...The things I say I am not going to do I DO...the things I say I am going to do I DO NOT....

SO....those who say they have NO SIN are deceived and HAVE no truth in them..........

SO....Do YOU SIN...yes or NO?

People who rely on their morality or their good are always good. If they admit a "lapse", it just wasn't that bad.

But those other folks............it's weeping and gnashing of teeth for them.

if you have 2 twin boys. One you tell them Don not write on the wall< if they then do it after you have told them, they are guilty and need to repent or "stop writing on the wall"

if you never tell the other and He writes on the wall, it doesnt make Him guilty, it means He was ignorant of the right thing.

to answer your Question, if we want to Know what is right, we go to the Word and learn. But He is gentle He doesnt load down a person with things they arent able to do. I still find things i didnt see in the gospel, that i have read for 20 years. its a walk, a journey, Our place is to walk according to the Knowledge we receive. No One apart from Christ is "sinless" but those who walk according to thier conscience have no guilt. Our conscience is regulated By our knowledge of Christ. and that again is different for each person depending on where they are in the walk. its the reason we cant Judge one another, and the same reason were Judged By the word.
