Hah! Made you look !!!
Matthew 24:[SUP]23 [/SUP]Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.[SUP]24 [/SUP]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.[SUP]25 [/SUP]Behold, I have told you before.[SUP]26 [/SUP]Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.[SUP]27 [/SUP]For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
But hey!! Other believers are saying the same thing in being serious when people point to a place to go to where these so called movement of the Spirit is at; for examples... the Toronto Blessings or the Pensacola Outpouring.
2 Corinthians 13:[SUP]5 [/SUP]Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Matthew 12:39But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
2 Corinthians 11:1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.[SUP]2 [/SUP]For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
So believers chasing after seducing spirits to receive after a sign are having an affair away from the Bridegroom for it is not after Christ.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.[SUP]
So seeking to receive the Holy Spirit after a sign of tongues or any other sign is moving away from the simplicity of the gospel and thus preaching another gospel.
4 [/SUP]For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
So don't go there. You cannot get closer to the Holy Spirit than you are already with Him dwelling in you.
1 Corinthians 6:[SUP]19[/SUP]What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?[SUP]20 [/SUP]For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Whomsoever confesses that the Holy Spirit is present at a place of worship or gathering, is a false prophet testifying of the spirit of the antichrist. That is what John was talking about in how we test the spirits; Jesus Christ is come in the flesh as being present within us is the faith we defend; anyone that do not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh meaning testifying to the Spirit of Christ in the worship place or among them IS THAT spirit of the antichrist as it is in the world as opposing He that is greater as dwelling within us.
1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.[SUP]2 [/SUP]Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.[SUP]4 [/SUP]Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Many believers read this as reproving a false teaching that Jesus Christ HAD NOT come in the flesh, but they are ignorant of the fact that from verse 1, this is about testing the spirits as Jesus Christ is in us in our flesh presently as any spirit outside of us is the spirit of the antichrist as it ends in that conclusion in verse 4 in how to test the spirits.
That means any supernatural encounter by spirits coming over a believer bringing tongues without interpretation or any other sensational sign in the flesh apart from salvation is not the real indwelling Holy Spirit, but the spirit of the antichrist.
So even though my OP started out with a practical joke, what is happening in these so called movements of the "Holy Spirit" is no joke because many believers are falling for it thinking it is the Holy Spirit when it is a departure from the faith.
Believers that have gone astray moving away from their rest in Christ Jesus need to ask Jesus Christ for help in seeing the error and then ask him for help to return to their first love, shun vain & profane babbling and pray normally, and wait for the Bridegroom as a testimony that they are filled of the Spirit which is also the testimony that they are saved by faith in Jesus Christ in having received eternal life. That is why there is no other calling nor any other baptism with the Holy Ghost apart from our salvation for we are all children of God by faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:[SUP]9 [/SUP]But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his..........[SUP]14 [/SUP]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.[SUP]15 [/SUP]For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.[SUP]16[/SUP]The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Colossians 2:[SUP]5 [/SUP]For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.[SUP]6 [/SUP]As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.[SUP]9 [/SUP]For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.[SUP]10 [/SUP]And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
