That's what I've been saying all along, if you don't pay, you don't get it. Capitalism is the best way to allocate a limited resource.
But that's not what anyone is offering.

And let's then take that the next step. We change the law to where if you can't pay for it you don't get healthcare. What happens tp all these people who are now getting sick, and staying sick because they can't get treatment and medications? What happens when you walk into MickeyD's and burger flipper is sneezing all over your burger because he can't get antihistamines and antibiotics? Or your office is full of people with the flu because they can't get flu shots or antivirals? Can we reasonably expect to live healthily among a sick society?

For starters, antihistamines are cheap, and antibiotics don't work on viruses. If they did, antibiotics are cheap. Flu shots are 26 dollars, full price, no insurance, out the door. Most workplaces give flu shots and other vaccines away to workers whether they have insurance or not.

People are sick all the time anyways. Then you got the super crazy prayer ninjas convincing everyone that vaccines cause autism and flipper babies.

People can pay for basic health services if they want to. They rather spend money on tattoos and alcohol. The doc in the box down the road only charges $75 cash price. I went there the other day and told them I didn't have insurance just because. I had strep throat. Without using my insurance, I paid $89 with the penicillin and doctors visit.

I'm fine with having insurance, but get the government out of it. It was great when I could buy high deductible insurance for $56 a month. But now the government dictates the insurance must cover crap I don't want so the cheapest you can get is over $300 a month with an even higher deductible. No thanks. Like I said many post before, get the government out of it and I'll figure out my way to pay.

More States To Expand Medicaid Now That Obamacare Remains Law

Source: Forbes

More states will pursue expansion of Medicaid health benefits for poor Americans under the Affordable Care Act after Republicans failed to repeal and replace the law.

The American Health Care Act, also known as Trumpcare, would’ve rolled back the ACA’s Medicaid expansion and put restrictions on states that tried to expand such coverage. But Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Ryan Friday pulled the ACHA legislation Friday, making, “Obamacare the law of the land” as he said.

At least two states – Kansas and North Carolina – are already working toward becoming the 32nd and 33rd states to expand Medicaid under the ACA. They would join 31 states plus the District of Columbia that have taken advantage of generous federal funding available under the law, President Obama’s signature legislative achievement, according to the Advisory Board.

And there may be even more states that will resurrect state legislative efforts to expand Medicaid. Before Trump was elected, Georgia, Idaho, Nebraska and South Dakota were considering Medicaid expansion . But Trump’s election, along with Republican control of Congress prompted these states to put on the breaks for Medicaid expansion when an ACA repeal looked likely. “The effort to expand Medicaid in Georgia just died,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Nov. 9, 2016, the day after Trump won the electoral college.

Obamacare is now expanding so that many more lives will be saved. Smart move by those politicians to do so.

One of the things that is puzzling to me is how Ryan and Trump are accusing the Freedom Caucus of voting to fund Planned Parenthood and abortion by not passing the AHCA.

Why this is puzzling is: Even if the AHCA had passed in the House, and rewritten in the Senate, back to the House for approval, and then sent to Trump for his signature.............EVEN Ryan AND Trump say that there would have been a "two year phase in" period during which Obamacare would have STILL been in effect.

Now, I'm pretty sure that in the NEXT two years the Congress has to PASS a Budget.......and they can simply defund Planned Parenthood in one of those Budgets, and THAT would take effect a whole lot sooner than the "two year phase in" time frame... right? They don't have to worry about the Dems, just go Nuclear and get it to Trump for his signature.

Also, I understand members of the House ASKED both Ryan and Trump to take out the funding portion of the Bill for Planned Parenthood, make that a separate Bill so ALL of the Repubs could vote to defund them. Ryan and Trump refused because they wanted to hold this over the Freedom Caucus folks heads to force them to vote for the AHCA.

Not for nothing, but that seems to me to put a BUNCH of the blame squarely on Ryan and Trump.

The Bill was not a good one.........it DID NOT address purchasing across State Lines or Tort Reform, or limiting Settlement Amounts in Suits against Doctors. The Trial Lawyers surely won this round............as they and the huge Insurance Companies usually do.

The other problem is why the felt they HAD to divide the Bill into THREE SEGMENTS. By doing that, they assured the Bill would not pass............and they (well Trump is) are smart enough to know it would go down in flames........so......WHY?
Had they put it all in one Bill, it would have passed the House, the Senate, and Trump would have signed it into Law......

Who is really to blame?

(enough blame to go around in my opinion......lotta dirty hands)

Yeah... this 3 part plan was a terrible idea. "Just agree to it even if you don't know what is in it." I've heard that before... I'm kind of surprised Trump was on board with this honestly... Trump was elected on his promises... one being to repeal Obamacare. They (Republicans) had an opportunity to repeal, and didn't. They had an opportunity to write a viable health care bill to replace it... but their best idea was a 3 part plan where we are ignorant to what's in most of it. =/

Trump called himself the great deal maker. While his party controls both chambers of Congress, his failure to repeal ACA was because he offered no viable alternative to it. Of course, his party has had numerous years to develop an alternate health care plan (one they initially offered in the early decade of the 20th century) but they have declined to follow through.

No question that Trump is arrogant and over confident about his abilities and methodology. His friends share in this fault as they celebrated prematurely:

Look away Donald! Cringeworthy ads CONGRATULATING Republican politicians for repealing Obamacare mistakenly air during March Madness in some states

  • Republican PAC bought TV ads anticipating the repeal of Obamacare
  • But the Republican-led House failed to muster votes for the GOP health bill
  • Nonetheless, the 'victory' ad mistakenly aired in at least four television markets
  • Ad aired in suburban Washington; Des Moines; San Antonio; and Fresno

Frog,

Watching the glee you exhibit to pounce on Trump and ridicule him over
every tiny, ridiculous, pointless, silly thing...
things that have nothing to to do with anything...

it's like watching a little girl throw a fit at the boy who won't notice her.
