HOW!!!! Do you re-crucify Christ daily? That's gotta stink for Christ! He asked for it not to happen when it did actually happen!! You think he wants to go back??
Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

[SUP]23 [/SUP]Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,[SUP][a][/SUP] and follow Me.

Jesus said that. So I don't think the concept stinks to Him.

You seem to focus on repentance is a commitment not to sin and not do evil.
Then you say seems a lot have never made this commitment.

So are you saying that there are people posting here who take sin lightly and it fact are not repentant of their sin?

If so to be honest you are judging them.

Our commitment should not be sin management cause if it is the focus is wrong. We will never be sin free this side of eternity.

The focus should come off sin and the focus should be on Christ.

That way our walk with him is likely to be more fruitful, as we grow in him our new man increases and the old man decreases.
bill How am I judging people? I have been with people who regard sin as nothing,
yet refuse to acknowledge it is destroying their lives. These were not believers.

For me to know Christ is to know repentance. It is part of the doorway to Jesus.
I will never downplay this and expect every minister of the Lord to understand this.
I could not know Christ without conviction of sin and a deep desire to leave this
behind. So I feel surprised when people do not know the basics.

It seems to express this is judging. Never had a discipleship session then.
A common question at baptism is Do you renounce evil and commit to follow Christ
should become, do you like Jesus and will hang out with Him when you feel like it.

What is that conviction of sin that the Holy Spirit came to convict us off when Jesus went back to heaven?
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

So coming back to the earlier position:

If repentance is required pre-salvation (as per John the Baptist and Jesus commands), and salvation is received through faith in Christ, then what becomes of a man who then changes his mind?

I have not dealt with one worker for and or cake taker on this site that has not accused those who believe in eternal security of making light of sin while saying that we live like the devil, do as we please, promote sin and sinful lifestyles etc...all the while refusing to repent and get right.....

ALMOST to a MAN they have all made this sinful accusation without apology, remorse or honesty about what we believe about sin....
I just don't get it, I really don't.

Why on earth do some think because I admit I am not perfect and will sin think I like it?

In my own heart I know every time I get it wrong the Holy Spirit says to me "Didn't quite get that right did you now let's work together"

I hate my foibles with a passion but it doesn't stop me coming before God and asking for help in the name of Jesus.

But it seems to me there will be some who would say "You know your foibles just stop doing it if you want forgivness"
Yet they don't see their own foibles.

Speck of dust and plank comes to mind.

What really gets me though is they say I'm not repentant of sins commission but they forget sins of omission and as a result I'm leading people to hell whilst playing the penny whistle"

They focus on sins of commission which is basically works of the flesh but don't seem to realise we all commit sins of omission, things like did you feed the hungry, clothe the naked and so on.

Truly sad indeed

You always seem to equate the spiritual to the worldly (free climbing, riding a bike etc), I don't understand that.

Unbelief of what Jesus did on the cross and the rejection of Him is the unforgivable sin.

What unbelief after that are you speaking of that we commit once or often, that equates to the unforgivable sin of which we speak?

You're very confusing.
I know the theology of unbelief about Jesus, but this is not unforgivable.
I am making fun of the idea you can come to faith and no matter what you are saved.
You cannot hold unbelief is unforgivable and have believers fall into it.

Because it would mean they have lost salvation, which equally is impossible.
2 impossible do not make a possible. But be a use this is faith, nothing really needs to
make sense. You can cleansed but still a sinner, admitted into heaven but not remade.

Trick dilemma. We take sin so seriously crossing the road can be sinful. How dare anyone lie, slander us,
sin is our enemy, except we do it all the time, even here on cc., lol, but Jesus has it all sorted with forgiveness
spray cans, covers up the eyes of God so He alone does not see the evil.

We do, but we are powerless to stop anything, that Gods job, we just lie back praising and it magically
goes away, opps, well no. Everyday its the same and I see more. But we take it very seriously to not
look at it and sing nice songs and give lots of money, so we will get back even more money.

Now for me this is just living like the world with a powerless faith, but at least you are happy :)

I forgot, ofcourse God cannot sort the sin out because He does not see it, stupid, are you dumb
or something, forgiveness spray really works...

Ok I am saying that you are judging people is because you are saying they have never made a commitment not to sin.
Therefore they take sin lightly.

Now you as a man who has come through many trials and hurts and knows that it's the love of Jesus who has released you should surely admit that through all the pains you have gone through that during those times you did not walk like Jesus has asked you to.

During those times it was self preservation.

What has released you share with other, consider the sinful attitude before God released you from the hurt and pain and share it.

You have moved from A to B. Share in love how God took you from A to B and remember some are still at point A

Chris,

Sorry mate but that did not answer my question

What is the conviction of sin that the Holy Spirit came to convict us off when Jesus went back to heaven.

If you can answer this then talk about your above post.

No if i have lied i have not known..If i lie then i break a commandment which i try to keep..
You slander those you do not like on a regular basis. I have witnessed it repeatedly. I don't believe you are as ignorant as you claim you are. Could I be wrong? Maybe I am wrong and you really are as ignorant as you claim to be. But honestly, you make stuff up and pass it off as your truth and now say you would know if you lied? Really just looks like another lie to me, a deliberate hiding of the truth to make yourself appear better than you are.
