There are 36 of Tribes of Giants mentioned in the Bible:
The word Nephilim does not appear in the Bible, nor any Hebrew pronunciation of any words translated in the Bible. But the word Nĕphiyl, pronounced Nepheel does in the first mention of Giants in Genesis6:4, and in Numbers 13:33 when describing the Giants of the promised land, Cannan. These giants were apparently the original giants spawned by the Gregori, the giant angels who mated with human females.
There are also 22 individual Giants mentioned, by name, in the Bible:
There can be no doubt that the people living in Canaan were either an organized tribe or group of giants living in great walled cities. This no legend found scrawled on some obscure buried tablet, but absolute biblical proof that the Nation of Israel confronted a giant race in the land of Canaan. Descriptions of encounters with other giants and giant tribes or groups are found in the Bible as well. This being true, is not logical to assume that there may have been other giant clans in other parts of the world gathered together to protect themselves from other humans, or more likely, from other giant tribes?

so, which version do you recommend? The one that was translated about 1500 years after the fact, with fewer sources than are available today? The one that's written in a quaint version of English, using terms that are no longer in use?

all the "thee's" and "thou's" don't bother me too much, but all the other archaic terms and syntax that make it unnecessarily difficult to read.
I have the same difficulty reading Shakespeare... which I do only for entertainment. I find the sentence structure fascinating, even though it's difficult to follow.
If I'm reading for true, word for word accuracy, I use the New American Standard... for simpler thought for thought reading, I like the NLT.
I, too, do the cross-referencing thing.... it's a good practice, IMHO

God told Noah to gather two of every flesh. Anyone alive at the time were flesh. Man refuses to believe there were others aboard the ark other than the family of Noah. How do you explain the different races and the decedents of Cain. Man uses a blind eye and follows the teachings of man not the Father's word they have no understanding.
Most people could probably not care less about the story of Noah in the bible one way or another. The bible says that there were 8 people on the ark, Noah, his wife, 3 sons and their 3 wives. I refuse to believe that there were others besides those 8 on the ark too because it is clearly stated there were only 8. These 8 people carried all the genes, chromosomes and DNA necessary to produce any type of race over a given period of time.
