Is Paul talking about himself before or after conversion, is he describing what Jesus did for him or not?

Oh yeah Vs 16 tells why Paul said he was a sinner[past tense]

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

1 Tim 1.15 must be understood in context with 16.

in Vs 16 Paul is telling people that Jesus saved even me, a real bad apple, and if he can save me, he can save you.

Paul when speaking of believers in Christ now - they are called "saints" in 64 places. I too believe Paul was simply identifying himself as a sinner in his past too when he said "I am the chief of sinners".

The true identity and nature of a believer in Christ is the new creation - the inner man of the heart which has been created in righteousness and holiness. We still have the flesh which has the law of sin still in it. But the flesh is not the real us.

We have this treasure ( Christ in our new creation ) in an earthen vessel so that the excellency of the power maybe seen to be of God and not ourselves.

When we die - the flesh will not be going with us. We are still responsible for the deeds done in our body. The law of sin in our flesh has a "voice" and that voice will deceive us.

Living by the flesh is more then just not committing sexual sins - it is also being done if we have malice towards someone, slandering others in the body of Christ, the causing of strife amongst us, envy...outbursts of anger...etc.

All of these things will stop us from experiencing in this life the inheritance that is ours in Christ just as Paul said in Gal 5. For example - live in malice towards others and the peace of God that is our inheritance because we are in Christ will not be manifested in our lives.

Will we not go to be with the Lord because we don't experience this peace because we have walked in the flesh? Of course not.

We will however get a new body one day and the law of sin will not be there anymore. Thank you Jesus!

Romans 8:13
if you live according to the flesh you will die

That was written to the Christians at Rome... funny how according to false grace viewpoints, the Lord is warning His people but He was just joking around er something and He doesn't really mean it.

Maybe the Lord's publisher wanted a certain number of words in the Bible before publishing and some of this stuff is just filler...

1 Corinthians 11:27-32
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

(this is related to Hebrews 12:8)

Here's another one... written to Christians... that those of the false grace persuasion will claim is not talking to Christians or God was just kidding around.

Maybe this was just filler too in order to reach the publisher's desired word count.

They'll have a happy sappy story to explain this way, you watch...

i think ink sometimes we miss the fact that Paul's epistles weren't what established the churches, they were letters sent back to the churches in some cases after Paul had been there....but the Romans letter, was sent to a church that Paul had never been to. In his missionary travels he never made Rome until his trial. His epistles are wonderful and deeply insightful, but are for correction of things already established upon the gospel of the kingdom. Which Paul explains he taught along with the other apostles.

The letter kills, but the Spirit brings life:

Most Christians are blinded by the scriptures as Israel was and is to the very day. They make the scriptures as a duty, instead of faith. It has always been hard for man to give up the works of the flesh. They want to do what the scriptures says to do with the flesh, instead of following Gods prescribe order of victory by placing Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, The Blood of Jesus; which allows the Holy Spirit to accomplish and bring victory. This is why Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they have missed their opportunity (Luke 19:41-44).

Yes...take up shooting heroin in your arms today and you will die sooner then expected.

The same goes for all the works of the flesh - like outbursts of anger, malice, the slandering of others in the body of Christ, over-eating which is lasciviousness which means "without restraint" and you will die sooner then need be too.

Does God send us to hell for that? Of course not. It's a complete violation of the gospel.

1 Cor. 11. and the not taking communion has been talked about in many threads. It is not what some preachers have said it is. Not discerning the Lord's body is not seeing what the Lord has done for us. The communion is for "remembrance of Him -what He has already done " - not for searching for sin in the flesh.

There are some in every church that are not Christians. Jesus said there will be tares in with the wheat. Paul is saying for the Corinthians to examine yourself to see if Christ is in fact in you. He says it again in the next letter to them.

Earlier in 1 Cor. Paul says that there are heretics among you.

Paul uses the exact same word in 2 Cor concerning "examining yourself" as he does in 1 Cor. 11:28. The translators called it "test"

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

yes daily, and no i dont think there is no opposition, i just understand that He who is in me ( the word of God) is sufficient and powerful to deliver even a man such as i used to be, into the man i am now, and am continuing in becoming. am i thinking im someone perfect or special? absolutely not, i think i am the least, that Christ may be all in my life. am i trying to condemn another person, in no way. does someone have to listen to me in order to be saved? or grow in God? absolitely not. am i accountable for the things i am given, indeed i am. do i fear the enemy? not in the least. is that a boast? nope, i Know the One who made a mockery of Him on my behalf, and i know the name by which all men must come to God, Jesus.

am i thinking the fight is over, i won the prize, Jesus will determine that when i see Him on that day. The more we grow, the stronger the winds blow against us, but when we are rooted firmly upon the Rock, we will stand. do i learn something new nearly every time i get time to study ? for certain. i do everything i am able to do, and I trust Jesus for the rest, 100 percent. if i fail or fall tomorrow am i lost? not if im willing to repent of my wrong, and ask the Most Gracious God who knows my deeds that come from Faith in His Son. am i willing to accept the things that make me uncomfortable in the word? yes i belive that to be the strongest and most nutricious fertilizer we have available, and the word has power when we accept it
"..Well God Bless you 'followJesus,' and as we accept the power of His Word, so too, will His glory be shown to the world as we walk in the world using it - right?!" :)...

Paul's epistles were inspired of God and are applicable to anyone claiming to be born again followers of Jesus Christ

Lots of folks are quick to quote John 3:16 but not so quick to quote 2 Timothy 3:16

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

... probably cause they not so big on God correcting them which is a problem for them considering Hebrews 12

The same goes for all the works of the flesh
And... God gave warnings to Christians that IF they practice the works of the flesh they shall not inherit the Kingdom.

We know the Lord wasn't talking to the world cause they already not gonna inherit the Kingdom.

Does God send us to hell for that? Of course not. It's a complete violation of the gospel.
You just opposed the Word of the Lord ala 2 Peter 2:1... the Gospel does not teach if one were to live after the flesh they would still go to Heaven... that's one of satan's crafty lies. Those who actually believe God's Word knows better!

God would have to be an idiot to warn Christians concerning something He isn't going to do such as send those that walk after the flesh to hell cause they rejected Him in favor of walking after the flesh.

Just mo of that false grace that's been deceiving so many claiming if someone did get saved and walk in sin as part of their lifestyle... there is no penalty.

That's just what you think!

I suggest you read 1 Corinthians 6 1-11

Particularly

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

I further suggest you read Galatians 5 16-26

Then you can apply 2 Timothy 3:16.

Its for reproofe, correction and instruction which is exactly what is happening in Corintians and Galatians.
Notice Paul says "As such were some of you" to me Paul is saying this is what you were, now you are believers walk in the way God has called you to.

Now if those who were but now are they will listen and change.
As for the rest if they were to stick 2 fingers up then they are not genuine beleivers.

You say

We know the Lord wasn't talking to the world cause they already not gonna inherit the Kingdom.
Paul says some of you, but his letter went to church in Corinth therefore those in that church were not beleivers were hearing what God is saying.

Those who seek after the flesh with no regard to God are not beleivers.
However those who succumb to the flesh and come before God for help are believers.

With regards to 2 Peter 2:1

2 Peter 2:1
Chapter 2
Destructive Doctrines
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

Yes we find false prophets who by denying Christ can lead people astray even to the extent of walking after the flesh.

But we find

Romans 6:1-2
Chapter 6
Dead to Sin, Alive to God
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

Paul is telling those he is writing to, "you haven't grasped what grace is about, it's not a license to sin, it's a license to free you from sin"

A genuine believer will take that on board.

If they don't and don't care then to me they are not genuine beleivers.

You are right God is not a idiot, but with regards to those are his, who stumble for a period or struggle with work of the flesh he doesn't abandon them.

If you suggest he does then I would have to ask who is the idiot?

Have you ever sinned since becoming a christian?

Amen...walking after the flesh no more gets Christians kicked out of Christ then Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation. Walking after the flesh will end our life here on earth quickly though.

Only by walking by the spirit can we not fulfill the lusts of the flesh to do "it's desires. That's why we preach the love and grace of God because it is with these nutrients that we grow in grace and walk out who we are now in our new creation.

The kingdom of God is within us now - if we walk by the flesh we will not experience that kingdom manifesting in our lives that is a part of our inheritance in Christ.

Live by "outbursts of anger" ( which is a work of the flesh just like living a homosexual lifestyle is ) and we will not experience the peace of God what is ours in the kingdom - it is our inheritance in the kingdom.

If we die after having an outbursts of anger - does God send us to hell now? Of course not. It's foolishness and it is a religion that is taught in some denominations of the world.

This is why it is important to learn how to walk by the spirit - by who we are in Christ so that sin doesn't deceive us in the works of the flesh.

People that cherry pick scriptures refusing to believe the entire New Testament and make silly arguments for OSAS not understanding God made man with free will which is what it's very possible to get born again and fall away... and if they don't come back they go to hell.

Have you ever sinned since becoming a christian?
Who among us haven't? BIG different between someone who commits a sin... confesses and forsakes it (admit it and quit it) and those today who redefine what sin is so they can walk in what God calls sin in His Word and claim to be saved.

Many of the most popular churches today allow people to openly live in sin.

Such as osteen's church... they have openly gay people attending there in good standing... they claim they are "gay christians" so these are not folks that know this is a sin and they are struggling to over come it, no these are folks that claim God made them gay and being gay is a "blessing from the lord" (it is... from the god of this world, cause this takes people to hell so it's a blessing to the devil)

mr prince and mr refus claims we should ignore what Jesus taught before the Cross because none of those teachings apply to us today because... they claim Jesus taught law to the Jews.

These guys are ignorant of what Jesus said in Luke 16:16 as Jesus was teaching looking forward to the new birth, teaching as though the listeners where IN HIM as He taught the Gospel of the Kingdom not the false gospel of greasy grace it matters not how you live rejecting what the Lord says in James that faith without actually living as though what you claim your believe is true.

God gives warnings in the New Testament... to Christians.... concerning rampant deception in the last days yet the false grace crowd has cute little arguments about these so those with itching ears won't pay attention to the warnings and recover themselves from false teaching.

Heresy is one of the works of the flesh, so have fun with that false view of grace that is extra biblical scripture twisting.

Revelation 3:5,6
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

To some people the Bible should be like this.

1.God sent His Son to shed blood to take away sins.

2.Faith alone,no works, sin does not matter after you confess Jesus, although the world will suffer for their sins.Enjoyeth the world, and its lusts, for you get the best of both worlds.

3.God chose you in the beginning, and not chose some,it is already decided, and even though all are sinners and come short of the glory of God,and all people's righteousness is as filthy rags, and there is none that does good,no,not one,and I am no repecter of persons, there is not enough room in heaven for that many people to dwell,so the angels drew straws to seeist who would be with Me,or not.

4.And although they did nothing wrong the ones I did not choose, for they cannot but help to be rebellious, and not ever come to the truth, for I do not work in their life, and they were not chosen, they shall receive punishment anyway.

5.Oh,and by the way,I will come get you to be with Me,and then come back, and you will rule with Me on earth for 1000 years, then be with Me in the New Jerusalem for eternity,or maybe there is no millennial reign but you will be with Me in the New Jerusalem for eternity,or maybe there is no heaven,or New Jerusalem, but it is in you,and we will be together on earth for eternity.

Amen.

What is the point of all that is not of this, for it does not matter if they are chosen, and can never fall away,or lose salvation, for they will be right regardless what is written in the Bible.God would not have to tell them anything, but confess Christ, and believe OSAS,and you are saved. There would not be anything else to tell other than that, for it does not matter.

All they would have to say to people when they witness is,confess Christ, and let it go at that,if they are chosen they will accept,if not they will not.

Why would the New Testament have to be so long, for it does not matter, either you are chosen,or not, there is no deciding factor.

God would not have to warn of the beast kingdon in Revelation, would not have to warn of deception, for it does not matter,if they are chosen they will be chosen, and if not they will not.

No need to tell of prophesy to prove that the God of Israel is the true God,for He told us the end from the beginning,no need to have the Bible so long, for it does not matter if God chose who would be saved, and not saved, without their input, for they will do what they do regardless of what is written, and it could be shortened.

I understand you very well Sir. You have said wisely. A word to a wise is sufficient. Those who have ears, let them hear; and those who have heart, let the understand. For it is writhen in John 15:1-3 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit..." . We must do the WORD of GOD in our daily life. For it is written," Blessed are those who hear my words and keep them." You are the Tree of Righteousness and you must bear the fruits of righteousness. We are the Tree of Love and you must bear the fruits of Love.

[h=1]Acts 2King James Version (KJV)[/h]2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
this is walking in the spirit.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
this is walking in the spirit.

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
this is walking in the spirit.

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

..........and this is connected to walking in the spirit
