you mean you thought Millard Erickson is reformed, right (he isn't)? not Jason Dulle (he really isn't!)?
Yeah he claims it..despite the whole oneness thing.

the reason, in my opinion, is this- certain people are not going to get involved in a actual back and forth, Q and A dialog. they are not going to do that because then they could not " control the narrative".

this is why they dance and duck and dodge and lecture. a real dialog might expose some things they keep well hidden.
Then say they are being attacked when faced with the truth?

FOR ARIEL,

I've endured many INSULTS here. I just said it's good to have an open mind.
Here's some stuff YOU'VE told me. It's not even implied, but said outright...

Posting links doesn't show you have read or understood what was being said.
no. 9386

I do wonder if you actually read and understood the article you posted?
no. 9400

Where in that post you responded to did you read sanctified?

You have reading issues.
no. 9407

The guy defines perfect ...But You probably ignored that also...
no. 9408

But instead you play games with words.
no. 9425

AND MANY MORE. But I don't have the time to do this.
Still playing word games...

None of those statements are insults. Most are questions which you could answer honestly, but you just get offended and like I said in a previous post,it then becomes useless to talk to you.

You have yet to define the difference between justification and sanctification in your own words, clearly and biblically.

If you can't, there is no shame in admitting it.

.However attacking folks because you aren't able isn't very mature,

Where in that post you responded to did you read sanctified?

You have reading issues.
no. 9407
That post you made your sarcastic remarks and erected your false strawmen that folks teach others to sin was about Justification....not sanctification. Showing that you still don't see the difference between the two.

The Law is like Yoda! "There is NO try! Do, or do not".

Paul and James and Jesus make this clear. If you want to be justified by the Law you MUST keep the WHOLE Law, ALWAYS.

I have heard people (not you) use the term "cheap Grace", when actually the exact OPPOSITE is true. Those that want to mix Grace and Law, or those that think they can or have achieved sinless perfection in this mortal body, have a very cheap understanding of God's perfection.

If we examine our day closely we can probably find a large number of sins of commission AND omission. EVERY Day.

But remember what Paul tells us in Romans. Those who say that Grace alone believers push sin without consequence heap condemnation on themselves.
It IS cheap grace. It IS Easy Belilevism.

Jesus did not teach what the hyper-grace movement teaches.

Listen to these two methods:

1. Just believe in Jesus and you'll be saved forever.

2. Believe in Jesus, be saved, and follow in His ways if you want to be a disciple.

Which one sounds cheap?

Certainly it's the first one. It cheapens every word Jesus every said about how we are to change and behave and how we are to do good works.

He did not to go the cross so we could JUST believe in Him. He came here to show us a different life, a new world, a different way of being.

If we're not willing to make the change, if we're not willing to be transformed, we ARE cheapening His words.

Why am I receiving opposition here?
What am I saying that is NOT correct?

NOTHING! It's just that some persons do not lke to be told the truth. (not referring to you, I don't know you).

1. Telliing me I don't UNDERSTAND an article, is not an insult? Maybe you just don't realize what you're saying??

2. I've TAUGHT justification and sanctification to adults. I believe I know the difference. Have you been reading along or not?

3. You've insulted me again !! It's incredible !!

You just said:

.However attacking folks because you aren't able isn't very mature

Please try to pay attention to the words that come out of your mouth. I'm sure you know what Jesus said about this.

4. You really don't know why Jesus spoke in parables. Google it.

JUSTIFICATION (for the umpteenth time)

Justification is a free gift from God. We cannot earn it. It is obtained through our faith, by the grace of God. No amount of works can save us. But only our FAITH in Jesus who died for our sins.
Epesians 2:8

SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is an ongoing process.- It lasts all our life.
It is a process that requires our cooperation with God. The Holy Spirit gives us the help and the incentive to do good works and to not sin --- but it's OUR reply and action that is necessary to cause this sanctification to take place.
God does not do everything for us. We must do our part ourselves.
We say that the Holy Spirit is our paraclete. He is NOT a puppet master.

We are justified immediate upon receiving Christ.
We are most probably never sanctified in this life, although I'm not prepared to say it's impossible.

Whether or not we're S in this life, if we die BELIVERS IN CHRIST, we go to be with Him.

If we DO NOT, we CANNOT go to be with a God we do not believe in.

Now, could I have YOUR explanation, please.

And life would be sinplier if you simply stated you didn't believe in the straw man and said what you did believe.

But instead you play games with words.

Never answering how long you have studied theology or clearly saying what you believe when asked.

Parables are stories to reflect spiritual truths and realities. It helps God's children discern truth and lies when fully understood by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The world looks at externals, God changes the internal.

The demands fruit, God asks if you have the right Root?
Let's see Ariel.
You're only 36.

Ive been studying the word of God a REALLY LONG TIME. (longer than your age)
My age in this forum is a mistake and it was too much trouble to fix it.

Oh. And you explained what a parable IS.
You didn't explain why Jesus spoke in parables.

It's an easy fix under Edit Profile. Now I'm curious to find out just how old you really are. :p You look young in your avatar picture.

Uh Fran, no condescension intended even slightly.I honestly feel sad reading your thoughts you post. Your post is almost completely about what YOU DO. Don't you realize that it is the Holy Spirit that will do the Sanctifying?
YOUR Salvation is entirely dependent on who JESUS is, and what JESUS has done.

What you don't get PeterJens is folks are talking about Justification and not sanctification...which is why you make inaccurate statements like this:

Maybe if you could realize the topic being discussed you wouldn't get so confused and make so many strawmen.
You're insulting a person again instead of just talking to them...

You tend to do this a lot.
I'm serious... Maybe you just don't realize it. You don't seem like a mean person...

maybe this is a newer article? :)

"I am an Arminian, but much of my theological training has been received from the hands of Reformed theologians. Indeed, many of the thinkers I read/follow are Reformed in their theology." (etc., etc.)

I was about 43 in that avatar picture.
When I tried to change it (last year when I joined) I got a window that said I had to contact an administrator, or maybe a mod, can't remember.

I decided to let it go since I didn't see what harm it could cause.

My age now?
70.

Should I update?
The story of why I used that picture is a long story.
I really shouldn't have...

I'm a firm believer in reading the bible and getting teachings from churches --- preferably more than one.

Just my 2 cents...

NO!

This is theologically incorrect.
Please don't be sad for me.

I do want to say that it won't be our doctrine that saves us but our belief in our Lord.

HOWEVER, I did post justification and sanctification for Ariel, who asked for it.

What did I post, that is not understood???

§God does not do everything for us.
WE must do part of the work ourselves.

Why exactly do you believe Jesus became a human being???
