The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like you had to set things right
Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky
You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right)
And I'm _______________?
I can't believe nobody got this one yet. Come on people over 50 years old. Hint.

You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another kiss is all you need
Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah
It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it, you're ________________?

Going back to the 70's.

I close my eyes, only for a moment
And the moment's gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity ____________? all we are is ___________?

More from the 70's.

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say ______________________?

Would you believe we sang parts of it in church to the Lord...brought the Spirit of God strong!
When I first became a believe, Simon and Garfunkel were already big. We hung out (teens to 20-somethings together) at a Christian coffee house called The Bridge. As in "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." There are a few S & G songs that make it as Christian music. :)

I still remember this episode of the Partridge Family when they sang the song, "I Think I Love You."

Bobby Sherman was dreamy. lol

But, by the time he became a singer, not so much. I think 1969-1970 was my year to "stop acting like a baby." The year the stuffed animals and dolls went into the closet, the year some crazy lady out of San Francisco sang about hitchhiking, (Me and Bobby McGee) and some dude from England (albeit an American, but I didn't know back then) did crazy stuff with the Star-Spangled Banner. In short, I became a typical teenager. lol

I was student teaching when that was a hit. Two years in a row that was the theme for high school proms. Can you think of anything more depressing than that for a prom theme?

(I just came up with a couple of folk songs that were even more depressing. lol)
