The devil said he has authority over this world NOT Jesus... The devil is a liar and I don't believe him. Do you know of any verses that came out of the Lord's mouth or the prophets or the apostles that say the devil owns the world?

1 John 5:19 (NCV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] We know that we belong to God, but the Evil One controls the whole world.

1 John 5:19 (ESV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

1 John 5:19 (HCSB)

[SUP]19 [/SUP] We know that we are of God, and the whole world is under the sway of the evil one.

Like I always say, if you read antichrist bibles you will find the antichrist... now I can add antichrist or the devil to it lol. The KJV doesn't say that. I HIGHLY recommend tossing those bibles and read the inspired version.

1 John 5:19 KJV
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

One more lol.

Jeremiah 25:10-11 KJV
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
[11] And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

Daniel 9:2 KJV
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

If Daniel interpreted Jeremiah 25 as happening during the Babylonian captivity, why do you guys interpret this as future?
FYI, this messes with some of my views too.

This would have been a better verse in my opinion but it doesn't say what most people think it says.

2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

You reject the bible for Jewish fairy tales VCO. I can only lead you to the truth, I can't make you accept it. I put it to you in black and white and you reject it... that's on you.
D

DREAM ON, Our Bridegroom WILL COME, but maybe you were NOT INVITED:

John 3:29 (NCV)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] The bride belongs only to the bridegroom. But the friend who helps the bridegroom stands by and listens to him. He is thrilled that he gets to hear the bridegroom’s voice. In the same way, I am really happy.

Luke 5:33-35 (NKJV)
[SUP]33 [/SUP] Then they said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?"
[SUP]34 [/SUP] And He said to them, "Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?
[SUP]35 [/SUP] But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days."

Matthew 25:1 (NCV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to wait for the bridegroom.

That is why I took the the time to study the Jewish Wedding Traditions and Customs. I suggest you do the same before you fall into this trap, if you have not already have:

2 Peter 3:3-4 (HCSB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] First, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, living according to their own desires,
[SUP]4 [/SUP] saying, Where is the promise of His coming? Ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”

I don't think I ever got your view on this, but do you think we are married to Christ right now or no? Do you think the wedding happens at the 2nd coming?

And the oil represents watchfulness because???? You said so lol. Think about it, "thy word is a LAMP unto my feet". Has it ever occured to you that the lamps MIGHT represent what the bible says it represents?
Oil is a type of the Holy Spirit.

Anointing oil.

Is this verse future in the dispensational view?

Revelation 18:23 KJV
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Revelation 18:23 is Nearing the END of the Great Tribulation, when the Nations are attacking in the War that will leave Jerusalem DESTROYED, by the time the KING OF KINGS comes. That vers is NOT talking about Jesus Christ, and the Church. That is talking about the FACT that there will be so many deaths, sorrows, plagues, and evil men ransacking, looting, and raping, THAT NO ONE WILL EVEN BE THINKING ABOUT MARRIAGES until after the CHRIST returns, Destroying all the enemies attacking Jerusalem and RESTORES JERUSALEM and ISRAEL.

That verse is a Parallel verse to this one:

Zechariah 14:2 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.

Guys there are 10 virgins for a reason. 10 in the bible represents the law and those under the law. The 10 virgins parable is about the Jews not recognizing Jesus at the first coming. They had the lamp (old testament) but they didn't have oil (Spirit of God). Also the kicker on that story is that after they BOUGHT the (oil) Holy Ghost.... they weren't allowed in. My mind goes to buying books by Tim LaHaye, Charles Stanley, Hal Lindsay, Chuck Missler and so on... it's bad oil and it wont cause the lamp to illuminate... sorry, that's just what that makes me think of. I know some of you guys love those people as I did.

As far as 10 goes, Abraham sent his servant with TEN camels to get his son a bride. Get it... the law brings us to Christ.

Genesis 24:10 KJV
And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

YES, I told you, the Apostles, drank from Proposal Cup, accepting for all of us. JUST LIKE IN A JEWISH WEDDING, The Marriage is a DONE DEAL the moment the Bride Drinks from the Proposal Cup, and the Marriage begins. THEN there was the separation period, when Bridegroom went back to His Father's House to build a NEW DWELLING PLACE FOR HIS BRIDE. THEN WHEN HIS FATHER gives His final appoval of what He has been Building, He goes back for His Bride, THEN in the FATHER'S House there is the Wedding Ceremony, and the Seventh Evening, the Marriage Supper. The Jews have been doing it that way for Thousands of Years. Sometimes it was an arranged marriage and the first night the Bridegroom saw his Bride, was the supper where He poured the Proposal Cup. Thankfully ours is not an arranged marriage, HE knows us and we know Him, but MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, HE CHOSE US.

Doesn't fit.

They had oil, lamps, light and they were waiting for the bride groom.

Amazing how you needed to overlook the obvious.

They had not " extra oil" in their vessels.

They did right by waiting, they did wrong by not taking extra oil.

What most fail to see is the request for impartation.

They wanted the wise to impart their oil unto them.

What is transferreable ???

The annointing/Holy Spirit.

What part of creation does man not have dominion over right now?
Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

2 Cor 4:4 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

John 12 31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.

John 14:30 30I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.

Christ has authority in heaven, and thru the Gifts He shares that authority with us so that we may partner with Him in thwarting satan's individual plans. But in the here and for now, satan still rules this globe.

Ephesians 1:13 (HCSB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.

That too is a part of the Jewish Wedding, The Bridegroom had to give something very valuable to the Bride, before He left to Go Prepare a Place for HER. THAT VALUABLE GIFT, was the SEAL OF PROMISE TO RETURN FOR HIS BRIDE.

This is true, in Christ we are in this world not of it. But just because Christ rules us, it doesn't mean He rules the world (yet). That is why it is SO important that believers function in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. To bring the light of Christ into this still dark world.

It's a bit long, and off subject for the thread, but since it was brought up here is what I think about the Bride

So the feast is at the end after Jesus comes back. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm trying to figure this out for myself. In Matthew 22 when the servants call people to the wedding, is that the "drinking of the proposal cup" or is that the wedding feast?

Matthew 22:2-3 KJV
[2] The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
[3] And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

The bible says they ran out of oil. If they ran out of oil, they were in the dark because their lamp went out right?.

Matthew 25:8 KJV
And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
