Paul told Timothy to be instant in season and out of season....I.E. preach it when they need it and when they do not need it because the time was coming when and now is when people will not endure healthy teaching, but rather heap to themselves teachers that have itching ears....

Today those who will defend the truth are labeled by those who make no stand on anything but their own opinion hammered out on their own anvils......Timothy is told to ENDURE like a good soldier.....not cower and sell Jesus out because of being easily offended or upset because a thread reaches a particular number of posts.........

Hi DCON nice to see you again

God's Word says what it says..

What is sin?

Sin is not believing or not doing what God asks us to do. If God asks us to do something and we do not do it then it is sin because we are not believing God and whatsoever is not of faith is sin because sin is the transgression of God's Law and the wages of sin is death. (Rom 14:23, 1John 3:4, Rom 6:23)
SURE mate.....faith is the key for sure......believe it and apply it.....who here doubts that.....? NOT me.....thank GOD the entire LAW and Prophets can be summed up in LOVING GOD and your NEIGHBOR.......

Imputeth...learneth what that meaneth...

There are a few that reject that word.....even though DAVID accurately describes the blessedness of the man to whom God IMPUTES righteousness without the deeds of the LAW (works)

see here is a big flaw in your theology- it seems that everything to you is ideas, concepts, thoughts, etc.. you do not seem to have much value in hard facts.

like for example, using the full Biblical definition of sin, which is missing the mark, falling short of a standard, knowing to do good and not doing so. you in the past have defined sin as " going against God's commands " which is true, but not a complete definition.

AMEN....many like to compartmentalize and categorize sins into nice neat little boxes.....especially those who teach the loss of salvation.......they have their group "A" that causes one to lose that which is unlosable and then group "B" which is equated to messing up or slipping up which is OK.........

Mr. Strong is so smart...

flesh:

G4561
σάρξ
sarx
sarx
Probably from the base of G4563; flesh (as stripped of the skin), that is, (strictly) the meat of an animal (as food), or (by extension) the body (as opposed to the soul (or spirit), or as the symbol of what is external, or as the means of kindred, or (by implication) human nature (with its frailties (physically or morally) and passions), or (specifically) a human being (as such): - carnal (-ly, + -ly minded), flesh ([-ly]).
Total KJV occurrences: 151

Our fallen human nature acting what comes naturally...until law came to show what is sin.

Then our conscience awakens...

Mankind before the law must of been some real hard dudes to live with.

Change? Ya think? He put it to death! Believeth?

Flesh = Carnal (sinful) Mind; a mind the transgresses the Law of God; The Spirit is the Mind of God (the Word); by Faith changes us

Rom 8:1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:4, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:5, For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6, For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Rom 8:7, Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8, So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:9, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Rom 8:13, For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Rom 8:14, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

God bless

I want you to tell me please, if you have died with Him and been resurrected with Him?

All those scriptures come after this event. Have you seen? and believed? And been born from above?

Also...the Spirit which I am presuming you to mean Holy Spirit is more than just His mind.

The new birth through the Cross of Jesus Christ is more than just words on paper. He struck a blow to our humanity...put it to death and gave us spirituality.

Do you see?
