I feel so inadequate. So much grief. Thank you for your comfort, Lord.

You'll never guess what I'm doing with my evening. Pickling 120 eggs. I like pickled eggs, homemade ones that is, and if you gonna stink up the house you might as well do a lot so you won't have to do it so often.

Peeling them is the tedious part...

No, to pickle an egg first you have to give a chicken a bottle of tequila...

What? That's how a lot of people get pickled.

No, pickled eggs are made just like pickled cucumbers. Same ingredients too. At least the GOOD ones are... the cheap pickled eggs are just hard-boiled pickles in a bottle of vinegar.

120 eggs? Are you preparing for the apocalypse?

No, that already came and went. I'm just preparing for a month or three of eating a pickled egg every now and then.

And half a gallon to my uncle, we swap neat foods back and forth all the time. I got a homemade chicken tamale from him last night, from a friend of his at work.

And a jar to my best friend, who likes pickles and likes eggs but has never tried pickled eggs.

And a jar to a friend of the family who happens to work at the same place I do, who likes homemade pickled eggs.

I only pickled vegetables like celery and radish before. I also did kimchi. Yeah pickles are good. We call pickled egg as salted egg. Very delicious and also good when you combine with other recipes like pasta.

I have a habit of dicing a pickled egg and throwing it in tuna fish. Very good lunch.

Emotions are God-given, but so is self-control. Having a good self-image based on Christ's love for us is foundational.

A big part of dealing with your own reactions is to recognize that most people aren't actually throwing junk at you specifically. At work we recently took a class called "verbal judo"... taught by a former police officer. He taught us how to dodge the verbal junk thrown at us, recognize it probably isn't personal, and choose our response rather than letting our emotions choose for us.

That said, we are built uniquely, and what works for one person might not work for the next. :)
Yeah. I've read books on similar things. Books on psychology etc...

GUYS!
I live in my very own house now! There are only three working outlets in the whole house, no hot water, and no gas, but I live on my own again.
That being said, my hubby had to go to Montana for work :( that means Supermom (or not so much in this case), has to chase three kids, make meals, do school, clean up, find out a kid wasn't chased closely enough so there's a new mess and $17 in the toilet, stress about mice, find out that the other kid just escaped, and have to leave a screaming kid to go find the other one, take care of the screaming one, and then the other two make the sink overflow, and while you're taking care of that, one of them finds a marker and draws all over the freshly painted walls! There's more, but I won't bother you with it. It's midnight, all the midgets are asleep, I have school and work to do. Supermom was defeated when a kid scribbled in her planner, and so she had an anxiety attack. OCD sucks!
Anyway, I'm living in my own house, working as a mental health coach, and going to school to be a therapist. Life is looking up, but not quite out of the pit yet.

Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe and sunburnt chapped lips. This was a beautiful getaway right after a week at the beach.

Summer has been fantastic.
