I will without malice bring this to your remembrance that I said I don't believe in works to OBTAIN salvation.

I don't like shows. That's why I don't like how you're trying to pull me into this show of yours that I want no part of.

I would ask you to refrain from playing this deceitful game before my report finger gets itchy.

Do I make myself clear?
dude you just said we have to wrk to obey or god will cast us back into the fire,

the only one being deceitful is you!

make up you mind!

Have you ever tried to do nothing?
Not only tried, but according to my wife, I have been very successful at it.

How long were you able?
I think my record is 6.25 hours.

Carry on. :)

We are saved by faith in Christ, and NOT BY WORKS. We were saved TO DO good works, and we should do them, but we are not saved by the works that we do.

I just want to know one thing for all those who say that we are not eternally saved, exactly how much sin or lack of works condemns us?

The gospel teaches "paid in full" to those who have accepted His Gift of salvation.

Which sin is not paid for? That is the hard reality you cannot accept. All sins are paid for.
As well if works do not save us they do not keep us saved.

Discipleship and obedience are not about salvation. These lines keep getting blurred.

I think we have answered already... I think you just do not like the answer.;)

Works has nothing to do with staying saved.

End of story!!!
In Hebrews 11 it mentions every person named that believed had works to prove them.

Faith without works is dead.

The just cannot live by dead faith.

We're saved
"by grace through faith". You really ought to study what "through faith" means. It's not a one-trick pony.:)

Well, if they cannot answer this question they have no cause to keep coming back and harping on about conditional security.

Like I said when people want conditional security it is because they cannot stand that someone who has sinned will still be saved because they believe they are so good that they only deserve salvation.

Yet God is Gracious and far, far, above our human reasoning and He has made the simple Gospel offensive to the natural mind, a true stumbling block. The gospel is once save always saved ...it is eternal life!

We see them stumble everyday.

This question is the wrong question. When you start on a walk with someone you
hope you will finish the walk, all you know is you are on the walk, and unless you
leave the walk, you will finish it in the future.

Salvation is communion with Christ which is maintained or exists as long as one has
faith and walks with Him.

Now with free will, be can rebel, become disobedience and lose faith. Now until you
reach the end of the road, you do not know that you will make it.

When Israel left Egypt they did not think many would be dead after rebelling against God
and worshiping a golden calf but that is what they did.

Or Korah who though literally God would choose him as a true leader against Moses.
But the ground swallowed him up, and burnt the others who offered an unholy offering.
Now they really did believe God was on their side. And they are very wrong.

So, you ARE saying that works are necessary for gaining salvation?
Please reread your post above and stop telling me I accuse you of believing what you don't believe.
Maybe you don't say things correctly...

Well there many many people with good works that have no faith and are not saved.

What is Born Again cannot be unborn....even nature tells us this much.

So yes it is a singular event... and I am sure glad this pony is Born Again to eternal life.

nope, in heb 11 it shows every person who had real faith, and the works prodeced by that faith,

the reason there are no people mentioned that did not have works, is because the had no faith,

without faith (not without works) it is impossible to please him,

"Whatsoever is not of faith is sin". Good works without faith in God is sin.
So....if a lost man feeds his poor neighbor it is sin.....or if a lost man donates $100,000 to Children's hospital it is sin? yeah......I ain't buying that......

Well then, Jesus did not need to die on the cross for our salvation and atonement.

He could have just been a positive role model to emulate.

Our communion is not our salvation.

You need to separate them out.

It actually is an important question which you have made clear has no answer.

But I will tell you one thing scripture does answer. He paid for all sins once and for all for those who accept His gift of salvation.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica] The salvation that God has provided through Jesus Christ is by grace. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8,9)." Acts 15:11 says, "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved." Eternal life is not received by, attained by, or kept by a person's works, conduct or behavior. We are saved by grace through faith.

Grace by definition excludes all works. "And if by grace, then it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work (Romans 11:6)." One work added to grace would render it no more grace. If you were to add one drop of poison to a glass of pure water, it would render it no more a glass of pure water; but a glass of poisoned water.
