It's not my rules.

God judges based on what you have been given. So unless you're nailed to a cross and can't move and will die within minutes of receiving Christ in salvation, God is expecting way more from your salvation than the thief on the cross. You'll be in trouble on the Day of Judgment if you're relying on the thief on the cross's experience to get you through the Judgement with no works to validate you having been born again.
only a lawyer talks about rules...Jesus is about relationship not rules.....

rules do not get you into heaven....relationship does...

Righteousness is right standing with God. And one gets that declaration of right standing (aka, justification) solely by faith in God's forgiveness to wipe away your unrighteousness and replace it with Christ's righteousness, apart from any merit of your own works of righteousness to earn that declaration of righteousness whatsoever.

And we know who has that declaration of righteousness given by faith apart from works by the change of life it produces. If you can't see your profession of your faith in Christ in who you are you don't have the faith in Christ you think you have. You will be burned up at the Judgment. That's how and why works are required to be a part of a genuine 'justification by grace through faith alone' salvation. That's not a works gospel. Paul defined the works gospel as earning a declaration of right standing with God by doing right things. No one here is teaching that gospel.
Actually, Christ was made sin, so we could become righteous and without works....

right standing with God is position not personal performance......it is a gift....

There really should be a thread on the atonement.
We could do this together.
PM me if you're interested. I'm very tired right now...

The Atonement can be understood in two different ways.
One was accepted from Jesus' Death to the year 1,000.
Then another idea came into being.

One is a penalty, Jesus took our place.
One is atonement, Jesus took away satan's power over us.

One describes God as being rather mean.
The other describes God as being a loving God.

Let me know if you're interested.
Ruth is one of my favorite books, btw.
Redemption.

Start one on redemption, then I will come in with my super duper Ruth heavy revvies, and they will oooo and ahhhh all over the place.

(more like chop and slice me up LOL)

That's right, he is an example of treating the promised inheritance with contempt in favor of the appetites of the flesh. Saved or unsaved, if you treat the blood of Christ with contempt you too will have no inheritance in Christ. You will not inherit the promise of salvation. No prior lip service confession of Christ can save you. You have treated the blood of Christ as an unholy thing. You lose the sacrifice of Christ for the forgiveness of sin. You will be burned up at the Judgement, not saved. Even your tears will bring no change of mind of God at the Judgment. God has warned us, folks. Stop trusting in this popular works-less salvation being pushed in our churches today.
Are you deaf or just blind or both...not one person trusts or believes in the boded above...

You see Laywer.... the works that we do after conversion are.....in him....not for him....

I work unto God, I do not work for God...you...you work solely for God....and others work with God....God's perfect will is that you work unto him.....

Right.
But works are how we know you have believed unto everlasting life.

Without the proof of salvation that accompanies salvation you will be judged at the Judgment as being a goat, not a sheep, and you will be shipped off to fry in the lake of fire.

That's not a works gospel. Works is defined as trying to earn peace with God through works of righteousness. What we've been saying is works prove you possess the gospel of salvation by faith apart from works.
Peace with God is conversion....

Peace of God is imparted once you let him work in and through you...and you are at total rest working unto him

Yeah. Rev. is a great book to study.
John. On an Island. Over 90 years old.
He gets visions from God and tries to explain heavenly things.
And we think we can understand them when we have a problem with HEBREWS !
lets see if we can work some problems out, k?

A person cannot have a relationship with God without following the rules set forth by God.

Is there a marriage where there are no rules, where they can cheat on each other, spend the marriage funds on their wants neglecting the finances, although both contribute equally to the marriage, insult each other, and belittle each other, physically abuse each other,a spouse trying to poison the other spouse, and they find out about it,but they still love each other better than they ever did,and still have a wonderful, and exciting relationship,in their marriage.

Is there a business where there are no rules, where the people of the company can embezzle money freely, and encouraged by the owner, and out of an 8 hour day, spend 6 hours of that on break, and steal from the company, and the owner claps their hands, and says bravo, good job, enjoy the spoils of your stealing endeavor, and still have a job,and a wonderful, and exciting relationship with the owner, and still work there.

There is no relationship without rules, for not to abide by what God's character is about, and what His kingdom is about,is to not have a relationship with God.

God is the Creator of all things, including people, and loves them, and they are His property, but the Bible says if any person has the means to help the poor and needy, and does not do it,then the love of God does not dwell in them, they have erred from the faith, and their faith is dead.

The prosperity Gospel neglects the poor and needy, and shall God not have a rule help the poor and needy if He loves people, and the saints are supposed to represent Christ, for to not do it,they do not have a relationship with God,for they go against His love for people.

How can a person go against God's love, and say,I have a relationship with God.

God said give offense in nothing,so the ministry is not blamed, but holding unto sin,and hypocrisy, among many that claim to be with Christ, give offense to the ministry, for they say, forget Christianity, and its hypocrisy, and causes people to not come to the truth,or leave the Church.

Shall God not have a rule, abstain from sin,and stop the hypocrisy, and act Christlike, for they are causing people to not embrace Christianity, and leave Christianity, because of their hypocrisy, giving offense to the ministry that God is using to save people.

The Bible says love not the world,or the things in the world, for all that is in the world,is lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and arrogance, and if they do love the world, they are not of the Father.

But there are millions of people that claim Christ that love worldliness, and spending money on material things, fleshy pleasures, worldly entertainment, watching movies that are not godly, and enjoying the things of this world.

And shall God not have a rule to not enjoy the things of this world, and spending money on wants, when there is people in need, and He loves people, and it is also fleshy pleasures that war against the soul. They are supposed to abstain from things of the flesh, not enjoy them.

God hates sin,and His kingdom is love,so to hold unto sin,and not love people, which the Bible says do not love in word only, but love in deed, and in truth,is to not have a relationship with God.

In the world they have rules, and if you do not follow the rules, you are not going to get along with them, and be accepted and have a relationship in whatever, and wherever, they set the rules, whether marriage, business, military, stores, police force, obeying the laws of the nation,or whatever.

Shall friends have a relationship if they do not follow the rules,no stealing from me,no trying to kick my butt,no insulting me,no trying to have sex with my spouse,no getting drunk and kicking my dog, etc.

There is no relationship without rules, for people cannot act anyway they want, and expect to have a relationship.

God is love, and loves people, and hates sin,so how can we have a relationship with God without rules, for we cannot act anyway we want, and have a relationship with Him,and holding unto sin,and not helping the poor and needy if possible, and giving offense to the ministry by being hypocritical, not representing Christ,is to not have a relationship with God.

For in marriage there are rules to not offend each other.
In business there are rules to not offend the business.
In military rules to not offend the military.
In law enforcement rules to not offend the law.

With God rules to not offend Him,and His agenda on earth.People are trying to achieve a certain agenda on earth, and so is God,and to not represent God's ways on earth,by holding unto sin,and being hypocritical, not acting like Christ,is to go against His agenda.

How can a person have a relationship with anyone,or organization,if they are going contrary to the person,or the organizations, agenda.

Does the cabinet members of the president go against the agenda of the president.

But we have many people that claim Christ that go against the agenda that God is putting forth on earth, thy will be done on earth,as it is in heaven, and in heaven there is no sin,and hypocrisy, and so it should be the same way on earth,or we are not doing God's will.

Do the angels do what they want in heaven, and say to the Lord,I do not feel like worshipping you today Lord, and think I will venture off,and take me some time off,and try to find myself, and I do not feel like ministering to any saints today,or helping you out with your salvation plan on earth, when they are ministering spirits sent to all those who shall inherit eternal life.

They do not do that. They stick to the plan, they stick to the mission.Thy will be done on earth,as it is in heaven.

They are not up in heaven being rebellious,so the saints should not be that way on earth.

The Bible says awake to righteousness, and sin not,and Paul said not everyone has the knowledge of God,which he speaks to their shame.

God hates sin,and does not tolerate it,and views it as filthy.

And shall a man work in the sewer for 12 hours covered in filth, and smelling worse than a skunk, and come home to his wife, and not bathe, and do nothing to cleanse himself, and start hugging on his wife, and trying to kiss her,and be all sweet to her, rubbing on her,and will she not say,get away from me,and go clean up first, and present yourself in a decent manner, then I will accept you in a loving way.

And shall we try to have a relationship with God,and say,I love you,and I adore you,and we are holding unto sin,and being hypocritical, and not Christlike, because we want to hold unto some things of the flesh, and worldliness, when God hates sin,and it is filthy to Him.

That is why Christ came, and shed His blood to take away our sins, for then we can receive the Spirit, and if we hate sin,and do not want sin, then by the Spirit we can abstain from sin,and then we can have a relationship with God.

And this is not being strict for we can be forgiven of all our sins, even if we live in sin for 5 years we can be forgiven,we can be forgiven at any time, and we can be right with God again if we mean it to get rid of sins, but we cannot say that while we do sin,or if we hold unto sin for a while that it does not affect our relationship with God,because it does.

if it were in any way by works, then men could judge other men's souls, by such works.
but there is One Judge - One Name under which all authority for judgement has been given.
He hasn't yet returned to judge - so if you anyone is looking for the day of His judgement, they still haven't found what they are looking for ((
;)))
not yet, but "
quickly"

Do you know that adding works, or saying there is anything we can add to salvation, or that salvation is not secure in Jesus insults the Spirit of Grace and places God in our debt for our salvation?

How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 10:29

"Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works" (Romans 4:4-6).

Hi UG,

May I ask again what are you talking about? Who is saying you need to add works to your salvation? Certainly not me. Only you are saying this. It is God that works in us to will and to do of His own good pleasure and not of yourselves it is a gift of God. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

God bless

Not saved by works are not our works, but works of the Spirit, and it is required of us to be Christlike, representing His lifestyle on earth, for if we do not act Christlike, and do the works that He did on earth,by way of beating temptation, helping the poor and needy, preaching the Gospel, and representing goodness, then we are not right with God,for this is the kingdom of God's ways, and a saint belongs to the kingdom of God,so why would we put forth the kingdom of the world's ways, with sin,and fleshy lusts.

They can say we are not saved by works, but how can they say that if it is the works of the Spirit, and if we do not put forth the kingdom of God's ways on earth, which are the works of the Spirit, and put forth the kingdom of the world's ways by holding unto sin,and not caring about the poor and needy, then how can they be right with God.

Quite true sir....some seem to disregard the covenant, and draw up a substitution gospel that makes provisions for the flesh..Paul called this trampling the blood underfoot, thus having no respect for the conditions of the covenant nor the Testators blood..In fact covenant theology by way of ransom is almost become completely forgotten... very sad state of affairs.....be blessed

Exactly why you fail to understand biblical salvation......!
excuse me, you are the one who has no concept of the blood atonement nor of its purpose to free us from sin, and its power to do so....you make the blood of Jesus week and of none effect with your feeble gospel message......a failing gospel from the beginning, to the end, having no power therein to purge the lustful desires and indulgences of the flesh.....

its inevitable to many that one gets saved in their sin, lives in their sin daily in thought, word, and deed, and then dies in their sin. But wala, its PIE IN THE SKY WHEN YOU DIE, IN THE SWEET BYE AND BYE.... no wonder the outside world looks down and mocks professed Christianity, it was said to be that way in Ezekiel 16...They even appear naked to the heathen by standers looking on, let alone to real followers with discernment..

Already answered in the last post I sent you. Only you are saying we need to add works to salvation not me. I am saved by Faith in God's Word and it is God that works in me :)

How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 10:29

Let's look at the context of Heb 10:29 shall we and see what the scripture is saying?

HEB 10

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, [SUP]20[/SUP] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; [SUP]21[/SUP] And having an high priest over the house of God;[SUP]22 [/SUP]Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.[SUP]23 [/SUP]Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised [SUP]24 [/SUP]And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [SUP]25[/SUP] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.[SUP]26[/SUP] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,[SUP]27[/SUP] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [SUP]28[/SUP]He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [SUP]29[/SUP] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?[SUP] 30 [/SUP]For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, says the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [SUP]31 [/SUP]It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Context points:

* Being saved by the blood of Christ

* Let us hold fast our profession of faith not wavering

* Provoking one another unto love and to good works

* Assemble together exhorting one another because the day of God is approaching

* WARNING against wilful SIN after receiving a knowledge of the truth; there remains no more sacrifice

* Continuing in wilful SIN results in a fearful looking forward to the Judgement and fiery indignation that will devour those that practice SIN.

* You see what happened in the day of Moses and how people were put to death for not obeying his law

* How much more will the punishment be for those that have trodden underfoot the Son of GOd and hath counted the Blood of the Covenant (new Covenant = Blood of Jesus) and Unholy thing and done despite to the Spirit of God.

* God will Judge His people and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God!

So in summary SIN is the context. SIN is the transgression of God's Law (1John 3:4). If we come to Jesus and receive a knowledge of the Truth and willfully continue in SIN we are treading underfoot the Son of God and counting the Blood of the Covenant an UNHOLY thing (because SIN is the opposite of HOLY) and resisting or ignoring the Spirit of Grace. So what is the problem here in Heb 10:19:31? It is WILFUL SIN after you receive the truth of God's Word! Hope this helps you. Your better off however studying God's Word for yourself and asking Jesus to be your teacher. :) If you are professing to be a Christian and are practicing wilful known SIN than the punishment applies to you. If you profess to know God while doing this then God's Word says you are not following God....

1Jo 2:4,
He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Jam 2:10,

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

1John 2:1

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

God's 7th Day Sabbath is also the 4th Commandment in God's Law (Ex 20:8-11) which there is not one scripture in His Word that has changed this commandment. If we break any of God's 10 commandments we are guilty of SIN

No need to comment further I already believe the scriptures in Romans 4. But FYI read it in connection with Romans 8 you will get a blessing.
Hope this is a help to you

Gods bless everyone

Who is actually doing the holding?...

One who professes to be a christian, but then ends up completely rejecting God, just proves that their salvation was not real to begin with. The reason he is able to "let go" of the things of God is because he himself is the one doing the holding (since he's not saved). He doesn't belong to God, therefore God's power cannot keep him. This is the difference between the wheat and the tares.

As 1 John says (I know this one has been posted to death, so we all know it by now :)), it's clear that many will come out from among us, because they were not of us, otherwise they would've stayed with us. So their leaving makes clear they are not of us.

I'm not talking of backsliding christians though, who have drifted off for a time. I was one of them, but I still remained His child. Others could even see that I was. Believers do return. In my case, I was so young when I was saved, and just didn't grow at all. Being so young I got distracted with the things of the world, but He gave me that freedom to drift off. Most likely it was a life lesson. But then He called me back in 2011 in a powerful way (blog post coming soon). So in my case He was the one that chose the timing, not me, and I believe it was all according to His will, the plans He had for me. Then satan got angry and tried to kill me just days later, and was unsuccessful because of God's protection :)
