I'll play monopoly all day!!!!!!!!

I prefer board games. *dead silence* Runs to dictionary, looks up definition:

noun
plural noun: board games

  • any game played on a board, especially one that involves the movement of pieces on the board, such as chess or checkers.

    Obsolete.

    Ok well...sorry guys.

Have you seen the video of the guy who beat it with the guitar shaped controller from guitar hero?

The company that actually makes those games had a couple of games that I really liked a ton for Gamecube, theyre called Lost Kingdoms and Lost Kingdoms 2. I dont think the majority of people who liked Dark Souls would like them, but it seems like the kinda game you might like, maybe : p

Oh, haha neat. Did you play the second one as well? The first one is usually cheap and easy to find, but the second one will cost you around 40-50$.

I still own both of them, haha. Theyre great games.

I kid, but I enjoyed the settlement system in FO4. The idea of forning the foundations of a new country in the same place where the foundations were laid for the US was kinda cool.

Depending on which ending is canon and whether the Minutemen stay the course (and appropriate BOS and Institute tech), they could become like the NCR. So a little imagination can restore the tedious defects of FO4. Give that Tato farming a purpose. Today Tatos, tomorrow the World.

But I still think FO4 suffered from a sub-optimal allocation of development resources. The work that went into settlement building and radiant quests could have gone into creating new and interesting locations to discover and quests. Possibly unique land formations that developed after the nukes hit.

A voiced protagonist also fouled things up. Work that went into writing dialogue for the player's character could have been devoted to writing for NPC's and their reactions to more varied textual responses from the character himself.

I liked Fallout 4 a great deal. Don't get me wrong. It's still one of my top favorite games, but like other Bethesda outings, I think it leaned more toward a really dressed up junk collection/settlement building sim than an immersive RPG experience.

Anybody else here have a love-hate relationship with Bethesda?

I think they have a cool approach to open worlds/world-building, but contain serious flaws in execution. That and they have a tendency to sit on licenses that could be improved by smaller studios.

Maybe the need a shake-up like Bioware is doing.

many games are there sequels to but not always as the same name for example chrono cross is the sequel to final fantasy chrono trigger but it just isn't called "final fantasy" in the title so as to give the impression of a more original story type deal instead of it tieing into final fantasy anymore, just look closely, like I didn't know that samurai heroes sengoku basara and samurai warriors 2 were spin offs of each other, pretty fascinating and inventive stuff!

The Chrono games were better than the stock Final Fantasies IMO.

It's funny, I enjoyed FFVII in the moment, but would probably find it cheesy and supremely boring now that I've tasted Western RPG's.

Only video game I ever played was Pong. I think that Atari made it. I just can't see spending an inordinate amount of time to learn and master the latest and greatest game. My 5 year old granddaughter is somewhat of an expert on video games. She could teach me a thing or two.

I wasnt even aware it was a joke, like Ive watched a friend play Fallout 4 and played a very little bit myself but Ive never actually "played" it and know very little of it : p This was all above my head anyway, haha.

As for a love hate relationship with Bethesda, kinda. I thought Skyrim was really great and fun, but I did not like Oblivion as much as everyone else wanted me to, or Morrowind either : p Morrowind felt too clunky for me to get into, and Oblivion was cool at first but everything felt the same, every dungeon looked the same and nothing changed ever. But I did really enjoy Skyrim, it was probly the first game by them that I actually liked : p

The sequel to Lost Kingdoms does have the exact same name though, Its called Lost Kingdoms 2 and is a direct sequel, haha.

Also Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross > Final Fantasy any day.

I'm not a huge fan of JRPGs because every main character is either 12 years old or looks 12 years old.

After I turned 20, I couldn't get into them.
