I am a newly rededicated Christian and still learning and growing in God's Word! There is a situation I need help with! So here it goes....

My boyfriend, and baby's father to be, is not a Christian! Once in a while we get into conversations about God and the Bible, which turns into debates! He says he belives there is God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, But he doesn't believe Jesus was God's son who came in human form, as he says it! He believes Jesus was real, but was just a really good man! I've even asked him if Jesus was just a really good man, why would he die for everyone? Why if He wasn't God's son, knowing he will rise again? My bf just says "I know people who would die for others!"
Please help guide me towards some scriptures I can present to him during our next conversation/debate! He seems to get more and more interested in my new found happiness and Love for Christ, but I think he is scared and doesnt undestand! PLEASE HELP!!

Pray. Ask God to reveal it to him, that Jesus is the Son of God come in the flesh. No one knows this but that the Father reveals it to him. And no one confesses this but by the Holy Spirit.

I agree with you in your prayer that God do this.

He 'says' he's muslim! Says he believes in a higher power! But not Jesus as a "man"! I pray for him all the time! And like I said, I see he is curious, but think he is scared! And I can't make him not afraid of the truth! Just show him the difference in me and my life! I want us to be able to raise our child in a good stable Christian home! I won't give up on him, but can't have him being a negative influence! I have 7 months to go till our child is born!

This is the answer of one of our brother in the church when I ask about this matter too... this are just few verses to prove that Jesus is God hope this helps :)

a) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1.1) and later in the same chapter verse 14, the same "Word (which is clearly referring to Jesus as God incarnated as man) became flesh and dwell among us"

b) "This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath but also called God his Father, making himself equal with God" (John 5.18)

c) John 10:10 Jesus puts it plainly, "I and my Father (God)are one!" This true oneness is further shown in the next point
d) in John 14.9-11ff: Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me..."

d) Isa 9:6 tells us that the son, Jesus Christ, Who was born shall be called what? "Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father..." In other words, Jesus is called the "Mighty God and the Everlasting Father!" It is quite clear that He is God!

e) Hebrews 1:1-3 says, "God, ... has in these last days spoken to us by His Son (Jesus Christ), whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds." We are told that God created the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1 right? Well, now God Himself tells us that He created the worlds through Jesus Christ His Son, this again shows that Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity of the God-Head.

f) Hebrews 1:8 says, "But to the Son He says:' Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom."

It wouldn't be easy for you to convince Him, but I know God will deal with him just don't stop praying.

Thank you, this is very helpful! I am actually on the phone with my bf right now! I started reading out loud, he told me I was wasting my breath! Told him I wasnt, cause everything I say, subconciously he is listening and will think about it later! I hope at least!

lol. Well, if he truly loves you he will really consider your beliefs it's hard to be with someone who has different faith with you if you are truly dedicated to Him but don't push the word to him... just PUSH it... Pray Until Something Happens. :)

The verses Jangel listed are good. Personally, I find those verses in the NT which apply OT verses of Yahweh (one of the OT names for God) to Jesus to be the most convincing:

Compare Isaiah 61:10, 62:5 and Jeremiah 2:2 with Mark 2:19-20

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels… For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.” (Isaiah 61:10, 62:5)

““Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord, “I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown. ” (Jeremiah 2:2)

“And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day. ” (Mark 2:19–20)

Compare Isaiah 8:13 with 1 Peter 3:14-15:

Isaiah 8:13 Jehovah of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

1 Peter 3:14-15 But even if ye should suffer for righteousness’ sake, blessed are ye: and fear not their fear, neither be troubled; but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear

Compare 1 Peter 2:7-8 and Isaiah 8:13-15:

1 Peter 2:7-8 For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; for they stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Isaiah 8:13-15 Jehovah of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many shall stumble thereon, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

And there are others, like Psalm 102:25–27 and Hebrews 1:10–12.

I don't push it at him! I just share the changes in my life with him, and sometimes add in some scripture pertaining to how I got there! Thats when the debate starts! I am praying, and just trying to plant the seed! Thats all I can do, is plant the seed! It's God's job to water him and make him grow! So please Lord let it rain!!

Ask your b/f if he believes that Jesus was born from a virgin...because if he does then tell him Jesus got His blood from God and not man (as there was no human sperm involved) so that would make His blood very special wouldn't you say?

True, we are just the sower and the Holy Spirit of God will do the rest...some people don't respond immediately because of the different personality types, or because they are not as easily convinced or that we don't pray sufficiently for them. We shouldn't expect to reap any fruits unless we pray earnestly.
God bless you and your coming family :)

''For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your SAVIOR ... I, even I, am the Lord, there is NO SAVIOR BESIDE ME.'' [Isaiah 43:3,11]

Who is Our One and Only Savior ?
Common Christian thought is that the only way to heaven is through Jesus, wether through intercession in prayer or devotion in worship as part of the trinity. The notion that Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Way, contradicts every known divine scripture including the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Final Testament (Quran). Any sincere student of the scripture will find out that the ONE and ONLY savior and Redeemer is the One God, the Almighty, the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
We see in the New Testament that the idea of every one being responsible for his deeds was expressed as follows.

''But each one must examine his work ... for each one will bear his own load...for wathever a man SOWS, this he will also REAP.'' [Galatians 6:4-7]

there are also other similar verses in the New Testament ...

''So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.'' [Romans 14:12]

''... Each will receive his won according to his own labour.'' [1 Corinthians 3:8]

In the Old Testament, individual accountability is clear, as shown in the following verses:

''And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.'' [Psalms 62:12]

'' ...And will He not render to man according to his work? '' [Proverbs 24:12]

'' ... The righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.'' [Ezekiel 18:20]

The Final Testament, the Quran (the book in witch your husband believes) confirms the basic principle in the Old and New Testaments, that a man will reap only what he sows.

'' Every human being is responsible only for his own works'' [Quran 53:39]

'' ...no soul benefits except from its own works, and none bears the burden of another...'' [Quran 6:164]

If each man reaps what he sows, how can Jesus be the savior ? how could he have taken on the sins of mankind and negated them ? Only the One who accepts repentance and wipes out sins can do that. Indeed throughout the Old Testament, God ALONE is referred to as the SAVIOR.
for exemple in Isaiah 43:3,11 God Himself speaks, saying clrealy that He ALONE is the SAVIOR.

''For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your SAVIOR ... It is I, the Lord; there is NO SAVIOR BUT ME ...'' [Isaiah 43:3,11]

God repeats this categorical statement in Hosea.

'' Yet I have been the Lord your God since the land of Egypt; and you were not to know any god ecxept Me, for there is NO SAVIOR besides ME.'' [Hosea 13:4]

there is also a related concept, the idea of a ''REDEEMER''.

''Thus says the LORD, your REDEEMER, and the One who formed you from the womb, 'I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself and spreading out the earth All Alone.'' [Isaiah 44:24]

''...Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your SAVIOR and your REDEEMER, the Mighty One of Jacob...'' [Isaiah 60:16]

the created idea of Jesus being the Savior can only be witnessed in the New Testament where the alteration has been highly suspected because of its complete contradiction to the Old Testament that came from the same God. God does not change His mind. God does not call Himself the ONLY SAVIOR then decide to change that and call Jesus the Savior. This term describing Jesus as the Savior was used only twice in the New Testament. In Luke 2:11 and in John 4:42
Besides these two occurences, the only other occurence in the Gospel clearly refers to God, not Jesus, as shown in the following verses.

''And Mary said: ''My soul exalts the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my SAVIOR. For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave...'' [Luke 1:46-48]

In the Final Testament, the Quran, God clearly calls Himself the Redeemer and no Savior besides Him.

'' As for those who repent, reform, and proclaim, I redeem them. I am the REDEEMER, Most Merciful.'' [Quran 2:160]

'' Recal that Moses said to his people, 'O my people, you have wronged your souls by worshiping the calf... He did redeem you. He is the REDEEMER, Most Merciful.'' [Quran 2:54]

'' As for those who believe and lead a righteous life, He will fully recompense them, and shower them with His grace. As for those who disdain and turn arrogant, He will commit them to painfull retribution. They will find no lord beside GOD, NOR A SAVIOR.'' [Quran 4;173]

'' Do they not realize that GOD accepts the repentance of His worshipers, and takes the charities, and that GOD is the REDEEMER, Most Merciful?'' [Quran 9:104]

'' This is GOD's grace and mercy towards you. GOD is REDEEMER, Most Wise.'' [Quran 24:10]

'' You shall observe God. God is REDEEMER, Most Merciful.'' [Quran 49:12]

'' You shall glorify and praise your Lord, and implore Him for forgiveness. He is the REDEEMER.'' [Quran 110:3]

We have Only One God who can redeem us. He is the same God spoke in the Bible, the Gospel, and the Quran reminding us that there is no god besides Him.

''Proclaim, 'He is the One and Only God. The Absolute God. Never did He beget. Nor was He begotten. and None equals Him.'' [Quran 112:1-4]

We cannot ignore the following reminders in the Bible where God speaks of Himself.

''Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is NO ONE like Me.'' [Isaiah 46:9]

'' ...Jehovah, He is GOD, there is NONE BESIDES HIM.'' [Deuteronomy 4:35]

'' ... Jehovah, He is God in the heavens above and upon the earth beneath: there is NONE ELSE.'' [Deuteronomy 5:39]

''... that all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah, He is God; there is NONE ELSE [1 Kings 8:60]

''... Is there a god BESIDE ME ? Yes, there is NO GOD; I know not any.'' [Isaiah 44:8]

NO spirit, NO person, NO being beside Him is GOD for ''NONE'' is a universal negative.

Peace be upon you,

He claims to believe Jesus was a really good man, I don't see how he can rely believe that I don't see how he could believe anything the bible says, because if Jesus said "I am the way the truth NO ONE can come to the Father except by me, Jesus was either telling the truth or lying. and if Jesus was lying, he was not a good man.

My mom married someone who wasn't a Christian And after 30 years She's still hoping, she thinks maybe after she dies he may wake up plausibly. He's very hard to live with.

When someone gets what they want and think they got you in a position where you can't escape, they show there true colors, (not that this may happen here) But I hope you have a long engagement and I would say that for Christians and non-Christians as well. Just because he's having your child doesn't force you to get married if your not already married.

I don't like giving life advice one bit, but in this kind of case I feel I would be sining if I didn't. (look up what the Bible has to say about marriage this will be the second biggest decision of your life)

Jesus addressed the Jews in this way '' I am the way, the truth, NO ONE comes to the Father except by me ''
meaning that if you follow ME, you follow GOD
if you obey ME, you obey GOD
if you disobey ME, you disboey GOD
and if you don't follow ME, you don't follow GOD
since he was sent by God, it makes sense. Jesus was not sent aimlessly

"Whoever is an enemy to The God, His Angels, His Messengers, Jibril and Mika'il, then verily, God is an enemy to the disbelievers.''[Quran 2:98]

as for the life advice, I agree with you...but at the same time, I rejoice for the kid... He will be given all the pieces of the puzzle. the rest will be between her son and his LORD.
The parents of Abraham were amongst the polytheists, the wrong-doers ...but Abraham grew up and took a different path than they.

some are christians, because their parents are christian
some are muslims, because their parents are muslims
some are polytheists, because their parents are polytheists
and I believe that one who got parents of different faiths is more God conscious, more seeking for Truth, more seeking for God

[Quran 2:168-170]
O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about God what you do not know.
And when it is said to them, "Follow what God has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?

Peace

The Bible also says,

John 10:7 *Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 *All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 *I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 10:27 *My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 *And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 *My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 *I and my Father are one.

1 John 2:22 *Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 *Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 *Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 *And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26 *These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

He doesnt read the bible, and he's not familiar with them bible except what he hears at Celebrate Recovery! He recently saw a video called Fathers Love Letter and he really payed attention! If you've never seen it, look it up on youtube abd watch the top choice!
Second, Im not going to marry him if he doesnt come to know the Lord or at least continue towards him! I need a Godly man who will strengthen my walk, not drag me down! And he knows this!

I would strongly suggest that you watch that he does not just receive to satisfy your requirements. It must be because the Spirit has drawn him to receive. I am praying with you for this to happen. I have seen, many times, where one has claimed to receive in order to make someone else happy. There is always a lot of pain.
