so, in other words, keep on using sources till I find one that agrees with you. no thank you, i'll just accept truth ." deeper " can mean a lot things. one of them is going so deep you lose the point of what you are trying to say.
Stay on the surface gb9.-

The depth is a scary place.
It most definitely does not agree with your beliefs.

So, yes, by all means, keep to the description that agrees with YOU.
Instead of the truth.

I'll just say that Believe could be a noun or it could be a verb.
It carries with it the connotation of action.
When one believes, he does what the belief would require.

Funny..... I was gonna ask you the same thing.....
compare romans 14:17 and think about it too, who doesnt still do those after getting saved??????? i dont know of any who doesnt do atleast some of those in the bold:

[h=1]Galatians 5:19-21[/h][FONT=&quot]Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I tell you about these things in advance—as I told you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Who taught you this? Is this what you adhere to?
It's the picture that is painted allegorically in Revelations if you study what the words mean. Revelations is a book of symbols and must be interpreted as the revealing of Jesus Christ.

leaves are sprouts. Sprouts are the exact image of the tree. You have to study both old and new to bring forth theses truths.

and it's a huge task.

We as part of His body are being formed into His divine image. It's all allegorical to show truth.

and yes, I adhere to the post...29150

Matthew 16

24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

28Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

The Messiah declares He will come and reward every man according to his works.

Jesus Himself says that He is the vine/tree, and we are the branches/leaves. Thus we are to go out and spread the gospel in His name, showing His love to others, through us.. Self-works for gaining or keeping salvation is moot and useless on the part of the person doing them. Works of self don't gain us access into heaven. This is ALL in the bible. Don't you ever read it?

Who taught you this? Is this what you adhere to?

Eternal life is a gift received from our faith in Jesus. It's not a reward for doing good works, because good works don't save us. Grace, faith, and belief are what saves us.
Amen...and these are only found in Christ Himself - which is why we proclaim and teach "Him" only.

It is the accurate preaching and teaching "of Him alone" that brings the grace and faith that we live by.

Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So faith comes from hearing, andhearing by the word of Christ.

Colossians 3:16 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Ephesians 1:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7[/SUP] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

believe in the greek is the word pisteuo, which means -to think to be true, to be persuaded of , to credit, to place confidence in.

not about doing works. so, mrs. question lady, what source did you use to find that believe is action word, other than a mental one,

and yes, believers should do good works.
Tru believers Will do good works, there is no should about it, if they have no works, they are not true believers.

You're a noob, big deal. You still don't need to swear.. :)
Romans 14:23 - And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

What u call "swearing" and what i call swearing...are 2 TOTALLY different worlds apart ^^

lol what are you talking about?
I know Stone.

This is such a great thread that it goes by very fast.
I too have missed posts to me.

So you accused loveme1 of being a JW because she said something about the cross not being everything --- I can't go back and look for the post.

You were rather horrified that she mentioned something about the cross that you THOUGHT was derogatory.
Really is WAS NOT.

So... I explained to you that Jesus did not come to us ONLY to die on the cross -- there was another reason.
I asked if you know that reason.
Then I told it to you.
Jesus came here to teach us how to be members of the Kingdom of God here on earth.

As proof, since you won't take my word for it of course,
I asked you to check, or find out, HOW MANY TIMES Jesus speaks of salvation or being saved in the gospels,

and

HOW MANY TIMES He speaks of the Kingdom of God here on earth and how we're to be a part of it.

I asked you to PLEASE find out and then come back and tell us.

(I know the answer, it would be nice for everyone here to know the answer also)

THAT was your "assignment".

I'm serious...

Why will question me as though I wrote it?... I believe it because The King of Kings spoke it.

Everlasting life is His reward.. the right to the Tree of life.

You have been saved unto good works... the partition gone.. made New inwardly being lead on the path of righteousness.

I have been savd UNTO good works, not because of good works, huge difference,

if eternal life life is a reward, it is not a gift, period, end of story.

Well, you asked Stones where she got her stuff from. She got it from the bible, the very same bible that you read..But yet you ask her if she adheres to what she reads in it..

If the works of the flesh sent people to hell - then no Christian in the world would qualify for heaven. Christ is the One who qualifies us by His work.

The revelation of the new creation in Christ which has been created in righteousness and holiness - where we are sealed by the Holy Spirit forever ( John 14:16 ) - is paramount to not walking after the flesh to do the deeds of the body and to fulfill "it's" desires.

The new creation in Christ where we are one spirit with the Lord Jesus by the Holy Spirit cannot sin - not one sin.

Not understanding this truth can cause us to stumble at these words from 1 John 3:9 ; 5:18 about the one "born of God". - because all Christians still sin in some form or other.

Sin means to "miss the mark" - the mark being God's quality of life. That is why all works of the flesh are "missing the mark of God's quality of life."

1 John 3:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 5:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him
.

Jesus - the first born - He is the One who keeps us.

Doesn't matter. The MODS here call it swearing, and will ban you if they see it..

Here's the problem:

And Grace777 agrees with you.
Nice.

So now we're saved, and you say in your above post:

[COLOR="#000080"]who doesnt still do those after getting saved

And you even add to this statement:

dont know of any who doesnt do atleast some of those in the bold:

Then you go on to list a Whole bunch of rather undesireable traits for those in the Kingdom of God to display or have.

Personally, I don't know anyone who says they're saved that do these things you list.

I know, you're going to say I'm perfect.
I thank you for the compliment, but that's the incorrect answer.

We're not to ENCOURAGE each other to sin.
§We're supposed to ENCOURAGE each other not to sin as the day draws nigh.

What kind of teaching of Jesus do you expose?
I remember Jesus saying be PERFECT (or complete) as your father in heaven is perfect.

Are we complete in Christ when doing what you speak of?
NO!

So why encourage it????

Eternal life is a gift received from our faith in Jesus. It's not a reward for doing good works, because good works don't save us. Grace, faith, and belief are what saves us.
it is amazing they will scream, yell, pout, demand we repent and ask forgiveness for, and get angry if anyone says they are teaching works,

then they teach works, like they are doing right here!

and they call us blind.
