Yeah I quit responding to him....his theology denies the fact that Jesus BEGINS AND FINISHES OUR FAITH and will.complete the good work that HE BEGAN IN US....
Yes. That theology becomes man-centric. We are always pointing to Christ, others to self.

I never said what he implied...I have never said one could deny Christ and be saved with the implication he is stating....All I did was reference Peter denying the Lord three times and stste that no where did it say he lost his salvation.......just another slanderous liar.....
Nothing to worry about Dcon. I know I never saw anything I didn't agree with.

Hi Dcon,

Here's what you posted. [They should all.study the word plenteous (many) as applied unto those who push works....Cain pushed works and is identified as a false teacher in Jude!]

Who here is pushing salvation by works? I don't know of anyone doing so on this thread. If there are who are they? What did they say? I'd really like to know who they are.

No one can stand before the Lord, but by His grace. We're not even born in the natural, but by God's grace. So who do you know in this thread that disagrees that we're saved by God's grace through faith, not of works so that no one can boast. I haven't read a post yet that would disagree with that.

Cain is not identified as a false teacher and he didn't push works for salvation to anyone. Cain is referenced in Jude as an example of the character of these men. Not that Cain was a teacher.

That thinking is just not there. But if you don't agree, that's find. We can agree that we both see it differently. Maybe one day one of us will see it differently, and if not, we'll continue to see it in the same way as we do now.

Let me again address this as many have...if one teaches the following they teach a works based salvation...

a. Faith plus works to gain, keep or maintain salvation
b. Salvation can be lost and must be regained by doing something
c. Jesus plus anything other than faith for salvation
etc.......

Amen.....ALL glory belongs unto God dia Jesus......it is all their work.......and just like the baiting for us to boast what we have done.....not me.....he works through me and without him working through us....we are nothing!!

Those who believe that Believing is enough (Faith ONLY) answer me this question.

If a person believes that Jesus is the Son of God and accepts them as their Savior and Lord Are they SAVED?

Do they have to confess? (which is a work)
Do they have to repent? (which is a work)

How than do you teach all a person needs is Faith minus any works? When the Work of confessing and repenting is REQUIRED for one to be Saved. If then they are REQUIRED for one to be SAVED, then Works are REQUIRED.

If a thief accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up thieving?
IF a Liar accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up Lying?
If an Adulterer accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up cheating on spouse?
if a drunkard accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up becoming drunk?
If a fornicator accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up fornicating?
If a wife beater accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up beating his wife?
If a drug user accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up abusing drugs?
If a child molester accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord is he REQUIRED to give up molesting children?

How then are their those who teach Faith ONLY is enough, and no works are needed. Aren't giving up those things WORKS?

i have asked and now ask again. How are those who think and teach that believing is enough, no works required, any different from those who believe Faith ONLY is enough?

Even so faith, if it doesn't have works, is dead, being by itself. A person may say, You have faith, and I have works: shew me your faith (having no works to show it), and I will show you my faith by and through my works. You believe that Jesus is the Son of God; you think well: the devils also believe, and tremble. Are they Saved as well because they Believe Jesus is the Son of God? Why will you not understand Oh last day generation, that faith without Works is dead.

Here is my question. Can anyone who believes that believing is enough, describe to me the Faith ONLY people? What do the Faith ONLY people believe?

There are those who believe Works ONLY can Save you, they are dead wrong. (Scriptures teaches this)
There are those who believe Faith ONLY can Save you, they are dead wrong. (Scriptures teaches this)

How are those who teach that Believing ONLY can Save you, any different from the FAITH ONLY people who are dead?

Faith + Works = Salvation. (Scriptures teaches this)

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Did you catch that? The Apostle John says ANYONE who claims to know Jesus and does not keep His Commandments is a LIAR and does not know the TRUTH.

And what are His Commandments according to the Apostle John?

1Jn 3:23 And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ (FAITH), and love one another (WORKS), as he gave us commandment.

Woe to those who do not understand this, they are blind and devoid of the TRUTH, all the while thinking they know the Truth. What they believe is contrary to Scriptures, but instead of changing what they believe to line up with Scriptures, they will go about to change Scriptures to line up with their false belief.

Faith + Works = Salvation
Believing in Jesus + Loving One Another = Dwelling in Jesus and Jesus dwelling in them:

1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

IF the spirit be in you, the spirit of Jesus, the spirit of LOVE, the spirit of the Holy Ghost, you will be full of Good works. Not because works can Save you, but you will have many good works because LOVE lives inside of you, you can't help but to Love others, because Jesus is in you. But who to those who claim believing is enough, and no works are required, these have no works at all, these do not give to charities, these do not give to those in need, these do not feed the hungry, or clothe the naked or visit the sick or elderly. These lack any works at all claiming that Faith ONLY is enough and no works are required for one to be Saved, these walk in sins, and refuse to repent and cease from those sins. These are they that believe in Jesus but do not Love One Another which is the ONLY Commandment Jesus Christ specifically COMMANDS us to do. IF He is Truly your Master and Lord, you will DO what He commands you to do. But those who believe that believing is enough don't think they have to DO what their Master, Savior, and Lord COMMANDS them to do. These are they who are on the broad and wide path that leads to destruction all the while "I am Saved" is upon their tongues. Blind trying to teach others to be blind to the TRUTH. Scriptures plainly teaches His Commandments are to believe on Him (Faith) AND Love One Another (Works) Woe to anyone who teaches otherwise, woe to them indeed.

Also, the word required I object too. We are drawn by Holy Spirit. Do you need the scripture? In being drawn to the Lord, we surrender to His will, and ask forgiveness. Not because of law which you really are touting using the word required, but of the work of Holy Spirit. We respond.

Plus we are obeying by believing His Word that we are born again.

Scratch that. There is evidence to us and others that God has done a work within by the sudden change we exhibit.

It always comes down to conflating the descriptive Biblical language of a believer, into something prescriptive, i.e. something the person must start doing to gain eternal salvation.

Hello DiscipleDave,

Long post, sir! I ask, did you start doing all the things you've mentioned when you were converted?

Secondly, if so, what will happen to you if you stop?

Why do they have to be deceived, and fools, and you left out they have a devil.

Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Are you in danger of hell fire,or does that not apply to you, because sin does not affect your relationship with God.

Is everybody in trouble for their sins, but those that claim OSAS,for the Bible says no person says Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost, and every person that says Jesus Christ is come in flesh is of God,and Jesus said to Peter when he said Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God,that flesh and blood did not reveal that to him,but the Father.

If a person does not believe in OSAS,that it is possible to lose salvation if they do not do right, and that they have to have works of the Spirit to be right with God,and claim those things about Jesus, then God is working in their life, and if they say it is sin to believe what they believe,I thought sin did not affect our relationship with God.

For nobody claims those things about Jesus unless God is working in their life, and if they do believe things that are not right, then it is sin,but they are alright, because sin does not affect their relationship with God.

Is everybody in trouble for their sins, but the OSAS people.

Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Some people tend to overlook this part of scripture that Abraham was justified by his works, for a person is justified by works, and not faith alone.

Faith alone, not saved by works, when we confess Christ, because that is all we can do because of the position we are in.

Faith without works is dead, and a person is justified by works, after we receive the Spirit, for our position changes to that which is spiritual.

Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

They can say what they want, but Jesus says otherwise, and told the first Church that they were fallen, and to do the first works, and repent,or He would go against them, and the fifth Church that He did not find their works perfect before God,and to repent,or He would go against them.

They say if a person has the Spirit they will do the works. Then how did these people lack works, and their works were not right before God.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

This is how someone that is led of the Spirit behaves, and there is no ways of the flesh there, but some say that they are clean, and cannot falter no matter their actions,or thoughts, but that would mean they would never sin again, for what is in your heart is what will come forth, and say sin does not affect their relationship with God,which is a contradiction, for if they are clean, and cannot change, then all they would do for the rest of their life is show the characteristics of the Spirit, and never sin again,so why do they say sin does not affect their relationship with God.

If they are always clean, and cannot falter,no matter their actions,or thoughts, then they would never sin again, and would do works flawlessly to perfection, but the Bible says that it is possible for us to sin,if we want to sin,and to lack works, but how can this be true of we are always clean, for what is in your heart is what comes out,so if they sin,and lack works, that is what is in their heart, then they cannot be clean at that time.

The truth is that it is our actions, and thoughts, that define who we are, which the Bible says however a person thinks, that is how they are,and to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritual minded is life.

Some people say that once they receive the Spirit that they are every whit clean, and cannot change from the situation regardless of actions,or thoughts, but this is not true, for every time we sin,or engage in something not of God we are not clean until we get rid of it,and mean it,then we are clean.

Jesus said that what comes from a person is what is inside of them, their heart condition, and a good tree does not bring forth evil fruit, and an evil tree does not bring forth good fruit.

Love is the fulfilling of the law,but love does not think an evil thought, and does not rejoice in iniquity, but in the truth, and however a person thinks that is how they are,and everyone that names the name of Christ has to depart from iniquity, but Paul said not everybody has the knowledge of God,and he speaks that to their shame.

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

A person that is led of the Spirit does not show any ways of the flesh, nary a one, because they hate sin,and do not want sin,and by the Spirit can abstain from sin, because they made the choice to do thusly.

Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Every time we sin we put ourselves in the postion of erring from the truth, being a sinner, and need to be converted, and if we hold unto sin then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away, for the blood of Christ will not wash away what we want to hold unto.

Jas 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Jas 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Jas 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

If they say that when they receive the Spirit they are every whit clean, and actions, and thoughts,do not hinder that, for sin does not affect their relationship with God,then after they receive the Spirit they would never sin again, and would always show the characteristics of the Spirit,in which there is no fleshy ways there, and would do works flawlessly to perfection,in which they would not spend any time for what they want, but it would always be laboring for the kingdom of God,for that is how the Spirit would want it.

But if they say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,then they are saying that they might sin,or are living in sin,so how are they every whit clean inside of them, for if that were true they would always be led of the Spirit, and would never sin again, for Jesus said what comes from your actions is what is inside of you,and your heart condition.

The Bible says no person calls Jesus,Lord, but by the Holy Ghost, and every person that says Jesus Christ is come in flesh is of God,and Jesus said to Peter when he called Him the Christ, the Son of the living God,that flesh and blood did not reveal that to him,but the Father.

Many are called, but few are chosen, and the Bible says that God wants all to be saved, and the Spirit and bride say, anybody can have that salvation.

Not everybody that says Jesus is Lord will dwell with Him,for many are called, but few are chosen,so many people say Jesus is Lord, but not all will dwell with Him.

The ones that said Lord, but could not dwell with Jesus, claimed Jesus as Lord and Savior, and did not deny Him as Lord and Savior, but Jesus said they were workers of iniquity.

The Bible says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, and if a person does not continue in God's goodness will be cut off, like they were cut off in the Old Testament, and to obey is better than sacrifice.

We still have a choice after we are saved, and receive the Spirit, for if not then we would never sin again,so we have the responsibility to want to do right, for the Spirit will not twist out arm to live for God.

Many are called, but few are chosen.

The people that say we are chosen, and they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with Christ, why do they think they stand and can never falter, for how do they know they were chosen, because the ones that said Lord, but could not dwell with Jesus, did not deny Him as Lord and Savior, but they were workers of iniquity, and the Bible says that they have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof, and are lovers of pleasures, worldliness, more than lovers of God.

If many are called, but few are chosen, and they think they are every whit clean, and can never falter, but say sin does not affect their relationship with God,that does not appear to be a good position to be in,for they will hold unto sin thinking they are alright with God,when it is our actions, and thoughts, that make us who we are,and confessing Christ does not change that, for if we engage in sin after confessing Christ we jeopardize our relationship with Him until we get rid of it,and mean it,and God knows the heart.

What is inside you, your heart condition,is what will come forth in your actions, and thoughts,so how do they say they are every whit clean, when they receive the Spirit, for if that were true they would never sin again for that is all that would come out is the ways of the Spirit,in which there are no fleshy ways there, but they say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,but then say they are every whit clean inside, which is a contradiction.

Summary.

It is obvious that they love the ways of the world, but want to believe they can never fall, and are always right with God,so that way if they do not feel like laboring for the kingdom, and spend time enjoying their wants, and lusts, they are alright, and if they want to engage in a little sinny sin sin, they are okay, that way they can believe they can enjoy the world, and fleshy pleasures, and money, and material things, and still obtain salvation.

Like the occultist that will interpret the Bible as such, and other religions will interpret the Bible according to their religions, and the prejudice according to their prejudism, and the Scientologist according to their belief that is not part of the Bible, and Christian Science, and the new age movement, and such, these people interpret according to liking the ways of the world.

Act 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

1Co 4:4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Theres more scriptures but will stop there. Only James says works? Why?

oh one more...

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Yes you are correct; And why; because the first rule of interpretation is to bring out; "the author's intention of meaning and not the readers; the reason for this is that inevitably you will come to a wrong conclusions and wrong application; some people start with their conclusion and then application before there is any serious interpretation made.

There is one true interpretation of scripture but many applications; if you start to button up your application first you will inevitably come to a wrong conclusion; wrong conclusions end up being false doctrines. And that is the only point I was trying to make here. If I was wrong and offended anyone my apologies.

God bless

Oh no, you did not offend me. You have never once offended me. :)
I happened to see pharts larger application that the older son could be compared to the Pharisees, resentful of having stayed and worked while the one who hadn't worked was forgiven.

I'm A-Okay with others not seeing it though. :)

If the sinner is able to stop or give up all of his/her sinful behaviors then why does he/she need a Saviour?

The person that believe in Jesus must believe what he believes, and stands for. and they must stand for the same things and believe also. You don't have a choice to believe some of Jesus teaching, you must believe in all and do as he did. That's works in you.
