"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy," Jude: 24

"fixing our eyes on Jesus, "the author and perfecter of faith," who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews12:2

Saved unto good works, not by your wonderful good works; people want to dance around, God's Grace plus nothing; a little bit of me - a little bit of God's Grace.

If you fall into the joyless desperation of legalism there is only One who can help you, "God can", And the excuse that the people at Church were so loving to me doesn't work.

God bless

Salvation is dependent on us abiding or doing. Where does Christ come into the equation? I am asking honestly sis, I pray you think about this.

John said people who left never had faith before they never abided into the vine, they were the tales amoung the wheat who were not real believers. Thats why they left.
Hi EG...Yes I see that in 1 John 19 ...And I read that I have eternal life because what our Father has taught me is how I abide in the Son, not me myself abiding, i now see why DC wrote my line in HUGE letters:( ...I abide in Jesus because God causes me to abide, it`s not from my own doing, I am learning and thank you for your patience...xox...

i disagree

i didnt hear that once lol

maybe listen to it when you have time

he went against sinless perfection as a requirement

and against OUR works earning anything
Point being taken from what it led her to believe........NOTE the bolded.....the words speak volumes...........and regardless....eternal security based upon the works of Christ is through and through the bible......

Yes I agree, if we remain in the Holy Spirit:)...I liked the realization that we have to check ourselves and not just assume that all is fine because we gave our life to Christ...I believe as I see it alot that people assume they are saved but have no understanding what it means to walk with Christ, it`s sad because people who just except that they are saved abandon Him on the first round, they get bored, they live in the world thinking they ok because they gave their life to Jesus:(, not so, and 1John clearly states what it means to be deceived, but some people never even pick their bible up to read it...I really liked how he spoke about having fellowship with God, that was really nice, how can we have fellowship with God and not learn about Him through His word, we can never get to know about His Son, it`s all about Jesus...Thank God for His word, I thank Him for ALL His warnings that keep us on the straight and narrow path :)...\o/...xox...

he doesnt like ONCE SAVED always saved

because of the wording and how often it is used to justify sin

he changed it to WHEN SAVED always saved because its not of ourselfs

the reason she said the other stuff is probably because right after that he went into convicting the decieved into how to know

and encouraging believers that if you have seen the Holy spirit work in your life

that God is going to LEAD you and perfect what HE started

Yeah I just got back from a month in Australia and while there a man who believed in the loss of salvation went to the go to phrase of all who say you can lose it.....You just believe that because or so you can sin all you want and it won't matter....I raked him over the coals because I am sick of that lie being spread by those who devalue the work of Christ and his shed bold on our behalf......and then after four rounds of truth in context he opened his eyes to the truth....no matter how one slices and dices...the following truths must be rejected, denied, swept under the rug and in so doing makes Jesus into a liar and inept if one can lose or forfeit salvation...

a. Jesus begins and finishes our faith
b. Jesus will complete the good work he began in us
c. We are saved to the uttermost
d. We are KEPT by the power of God
e. We are in the Sons hand and he will LOSE NOTHING, but raise it up the last day
f. We are in the Father's hand
g. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise unto the DAY of redemption (see E)
h. We are born again of INCORRUPTABLE SEED
I. Christ continually intercedes for us before the Father
j. Where sin abounds grace did much more abound
k. We are chastened as sons and not REJECTED
l. A son by BIRTH CANNOT be undone
m. WHAT GOD does is EVERLASTING (Ecclesiastes 3:14) including SALVATION
n. We have ETERNAL life NOT temporary
o. VERB tense as applied unto our salvation and eternal life
p. The promise to NEVER leave us or FORSAKE US
q. Salvation is a gift through grace that cannot be earned or maintained by any work
r. Our justification is based upon FAITH void of works (see O)
s. Our sanctification in Christ is EVERLASTING (see O and Hebrews 10:10, 14)

AND on and on and on and on.....

if I may sis, From what I just read. Where does faith come in, How can one have any assurance of salvation if salvation is dependent on our actions, should that not be faith in self. And not faith in God? I have not list4ened to all of the video. Does he really say this?
Hi EG...I have so much to learn...This morning God showed me what it means to have faith in Him,now I know my salvation does not come from anything I do, I have no faith in myself, only in God , and He will work out all things for me, He will grow me, teach me, show me His paths, and I will follow His lead...I have assurance from Christ that I am saved, I have no doubt because I believe and trust everything He is telling me, I am nothing without Him, but from watching that vid the NNM posted, it brought to mind those who believed once but never abided in Him, but you say they were never saved to begin with...My faith is in my Lord Jesus Christ, He has assured me eternal life and I believe that, and I tell you what, I feel at this moment in my walk with Christ, I should just stick with all the promises He has for me and stay away from nets that people get caught up in unless I find myself in one through my own doing...I know I am saved, my faith is in Christ, and nothing can separate me from the love of God...I think I sometimes jump ahead of myself, taking lead and coming up with nought:rolleyes:, Jesus does not want that, as long as I listen to Him, be led by the Holy Spirit then I can walk in His peace...xox...

true

and yes

its a shame that people take truth and say its evil

but its also a shame to trample on Gods gifts

and when people see the decived and sinners who proclaim Jesus as God (but not those who truely know Him) .... they are the opposite of salt or a shining light

the opposite of showing Gods work

2 Timothy 3:5

Romans 6

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

pretty much exactly what we are talkin about

That`s what they are, false believers, no true saving faith in them...We have true saving faith because it is a gift from God, less any man should boast...The faith we have is given to us by God, still my heart is rejoicing over this:), it makes me come to know more of how much He loves me and that He has called me, it`s such a beautiful truth to know that God has called me...His amazing grace, and I guess those who say they believed but walked away were false believers because how can one walk away when it is God who has called you, I am beginning to understand more...xox...

Obviously, but lest we forget.....And your cited scripture speaks of those WHO APPEAR GODLY, but in works deny the power of Christ.......

1. Peter
2. David
3. Samson

and other men who were believers and saved, yet at the time they failed the Lord as a bad witness by their life were not cast away and or unsaved....just saying.......

Note the bolded above....remember that where sin abounds, grace did much more abound....now quote the verse....SINCE GRACE out bounds our sin...shall we keep on sinning....no.....this does not change the fact that GRACE out bounds our sin and or that grace may abound when we sin.....

I agree, but we NEED to be very careful because it is not always that cut and dry....let me explain.....Obviously Peter was a saved child of God yes?

and yet Peter went back to FISHING and DENIED the Lord 3 times....yet never lost his salvation and after seeing the Lord proclaimed himself a sinner and chunked himself into the sea because of his nakedness before the Lord.....MANY people who are genuinely saved had had low moments where their faith waivered and or seemed to be gone yet were saved....remember Elijah.....go ahead and Kill me LORD.....God said. "Get up and shut up, I have yet reserved unto myself 7000 that have not bowed the knee to Baal"

Even Jesus had a moment of weakness but did not completely fail...FATHER, if it be possible let this cup pass from me<--His humanity coming out. <---Yet a smoldering ember he shall not be quenched<--his faith not put out though it be nut a smoldering ember......

The same is true of all believers.....they may have very weak moments where they seem to have lost faith, but in reality they are saved and will be brought back into the fold....Jesus will leave the 99 to go find the one that has wandered off.......

A fine line and only God can truly judge for sure because the flip side is those who were never really saved and only had a pretentious show of faith..........and not the real deal

It seems as if he does.............based upon the confusion it has now sown......
if you have not and EG have not listened then you & EG are simply spreading doubt and assumption...maybe listening instead of commenting is wisdom...

I agree

it is important to know you are really saved, so you have assurance.

But not to know to do to maintain or keep your salvation, because salvation, once obtained, can not be lost.
The Bible says the Spirit gives us this assurance by bearing witness with our own spirits...we are sons of God....

We all use deductive reasoning based upon what people say concerning what they read and watch... and my comments were based upon her words and what she said she had gleaned from watching it......and if you will notice my verbiage bro....I did not state it as a fact, but rather it "SEEMS as if he does based upon the confusion it has sown" <--as applied unto her comments....

Thanks for the advice.... ;)

Hebrews 12.1-3 tells the complete story and complete thought...this verse has zero to do with salvation....and everything to do with spiritual growth and faith to press on into spiritual growth.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
