H2580 Old Testament Grace חֵן chên khane; from graciousness, i.e. subjective (kindness, favor) or objective (beauty):—favour, grace(-ious), pleasant, precious, (well-) favoured.
The following two verses describe חֵן. (Grace) i.e. separation (a hedge of protection) through Christ Jesus.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:17)
“Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,” (2 Thessalonians 2:16)
“Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” (1 Peter 2:1-3)
Our desire for the Word of God gives us His grace.
“And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul. And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the Lord, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him. And now the Lord shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.” (2 Samuel 2:4-6)
If we show others grace, then God shows us His grace.
“And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.” (Exodus 3:21)
God shows grace to His children in the sight of the world.
“And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” (Psalm 90:17)
Pray for His grace to guide us in all that we do.
“And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the Lord: possess thou the west and the south. (Deuteronomy 33:23)
Possessing what God’s grace has promised.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8 )
God’s grace is a gift that comes from Him only.
“He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:” (Proverbs 2:8-11)
We find grace in wisdom and knowledge of His Word. We live by every Word, not just some of His Word, that He delivers, and has already delivered to us.
“Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,” (1 Peter 2:6-7)
The grace of Jesus Christ is given to those who are obedient and are not discombobulated by distorting His Word.
“Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;” (Psalm 106:4)
“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” (Proverbs 13:15)
Good understanding gives us grace that leads us to salvation.
