Duet. 30:
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
How do I choose life?
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that
thou mayest cleave unto him: for
he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Looks like God's Instructions do include loving Him.
Lev. 19:
10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather
every grape of thy vineyard;
thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I
am the LORD your God.
Looks like God's Laws also include compassion on the stranger.
Lev. 19:
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Here is another of God's Law that instructs us how to deal with a brother.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people,
but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I
am the LORD.
Here is another part of God's Law that instructs us to love our neighbor as our self.
This is why Paul said.
Rom. 2:
13 (
For not the hearers of the law are just before God, (Faith but no obedience) but the
doers of the law shall be justified.(Faith shown by works of obedience)
