Of course Christ was "tempted" in that real temptations were presented to Him externally. What you failed to understand is that there was nothing within Christ to respond to those temptation, so it was not internal (no lusts within Christ). And that is why Scripture says "WITHOUT SIN". No sin nature, no response to temptation.
On the other hand, all human beings -- including Christians -- have the indwelling "flesh". And that is what causes men to succumb to temptations. So notice how it works (James 1:13-15):
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
This is off the reservation completely. You are pushing that Jesus was fully in his divinity when he walked the earth and that is not remotely true.
Hebrews 4:14-15
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. [SUP]15 [/SUP]For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as
we are, yet without sin.
Isaiah 53:2-5
Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no
stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being
fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
Phil 2:5-8
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, [SUP]6 [/SUP]who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, [SUP]7 [/SUP]but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant,
and being made in the likeness of men. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
