Your Perfect Holiday.

If you could build your own holiday and go away for two months, money
and distance no issue, work and family commitments no issue.

What would it look like.

Ive decided mine would be spent on a sunny tropical island, with
sandy beaches, a posh tree house to live in.

Palm trees with bananas, other fruit trees to climb - ive never tried to climb
a proper tree but I would like to give it a go.

Log fires on the beech for cooking fish, clams, etc.

No dangerous animals, but enough wildlife to make it interesting.

A waterfall and rivers to walk along and explore.

I couldn’t butcher anything so a freezer with packaged meat to roast!

Bibles, note book, pens, stuff for drawing, my saxophones.

My ipad but no mobile phone as don’t want to know what the rest of the
world is getting up to.

Some ancient ruins to explore, buried treasures to find and a treasure map.

The occasional friendly chat and meal with neighbours on the other side of
the island. Even a little church to go on Sundays. But mostly I would be on
my own enjoying the peace and quiet.

Oh and a horse I would love to learn how to ride a horse.

I don't know.

The idea of the "1st Annual John Rambo CC Picnic Meetup" is starting to grow on me.

After all, we sure wouldn't have to worry about being bothered by squirrels, bears, gorillas... not to mention any stray guerillas, for that matter.

We just have to be careful about which ones he tries to throw on the grill. (I'm pretty sure Tommy can simultaneously cook AND put up a mean defense with a flame thrower all at once.)

I wanted to do that on the Big Island but when I learned the price was $500.00 for the tour and my ticket from Florida to Hawaii was $998.00. I didn't do it was too rich for my pocketbook..... But it's the only thing I didn't do while I was there I got to do the other things I really wanted to do and loved the vacation....

My perfect holiday would be to take a tour of Europe like a six month holiday lol...which is in my dreams so the plan B is just loved one partner or friends a cruise ship I love water coast to coast on a cruise

Given the parameters in the OP, my dream vacation would include:

- Ireland (distant family, Guinness, etc.);
- Scotland (castles, Giant's Causeway, etc.);
- Eastern Europe (a river tour on the Danube);
- Israel and the Nile Valley;
- an East African safari;
- a tour of South Africa, but only if the political situation improved dramatically first.

While it's not on many people's "dream vacation" list, if I were ever in Eastern Europe, I'd like to visit Auschwitz.

That all should about fill two months of time and a lifetime of narrated slide presentations to unsuspecting dinner guests.

Its interesting that you should mention Auschwitz, I rather like historic sites etc. Although
I think with Auschwitz it would come with deep emotions, prayer, thankfulness, etc.

We had a display in my city which a museum put on, it was about heroshima.
The room had floor to ceiling scaled black and wight photos of the city after the
bombing so it felt like you were in among it.

Plus lots of display cases with items items such a melted roof tiles, clothing
with melted button, lots of other items.

Many people were at the museum but in that room you could not hear a pin drop.

It really made you think about all you had, your life, their lives, how terrible people
can be, the grace of a God etc.
