I'll put you down for a 'yes'.
you sure love to put people in boxes you make yourself

for the record your boxes mean nothing
;)

You are saying the believer CAN live any way he wants after he is saved and he is still saved.
the born again believer who God began a work in? yes

He will finish what He starts
:p
He even says to have confidence in this
Philippians 1:6
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

That is exactly what one is saying when they say God will just kill you if you live any way you want after being saved and you will still be saved
disregarding the chastening and new heart again?
i just reminded you ralph

geez

But I have been blasted over and over and over for saying that's what you people have been saying.
blasted?
i mean i speak up when you add to or take from what i say....
and when you add to and take from what Jesus did for us

What you believe is called 'Freegrace' or 'Hypergrace' doctrine.
what i believe is called the bible...

maybe youve heard of it?

Gods inspired written word....

you should check it out

its wonderful

It says works do not matter and that you can live anyway you want and God will just kill you if you don't live for him and you will remain saved.
how do you think a born again believer wants to live?
lol....

Most of you people believe this but then you'll turn right around and get angry and deny you're saying grace is a license to live in sin and still be saved.
i never once said grace is a license to sin

but i say the opposite quite often
....

maybe if you payed attention to what was said instead of your strawmen and "boxes" youd see that
...
or maybe not

i pray God opens your eyes

I'm exposing the foolish duplicity of your doctrine.
you exposed nothing but the same tactics youve been using....

open your eyes ralph

self righteousness is very ugly Ralph

It causes people to look at others , and think , well they cant be saved because they arent living this way or that way , they arent doing this work or that work , and its because the self righteous person thinks , well Im doing all these works , and that person isnt , so how can they be saved like me ??? Sound familiar ?

Our righteousness does NOT come from what we do or dont do , CHRIST'S righteousness is IMPUTED to us , when we put our faith in him

The comments are in the wrong direction.
Sinful behavior is evil and should not be part of the people of God.

When someone says recognizing sin is ugly something has gone wrong.
We are called to live pure and holy lives, yet when people say, oh well,
I am a sinner caught in sin, that is just denial of what it means to follow Jesus.

There is no compromise to the commands of God, just knowing the power
of love in the heart of the believer, or it is just playing games.

It sounds to me like people want no rules or measures, no conviction or sorrow,
just a free ticket to do what one wants, and then shrug and believe God is ok
with this.

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:2-4

What is odd is when people say, God the giver of law and guidance is interpreted as only
saying you have to believe in Jesus and are saved, and that is the only command of significance.
When you understand what God is saying, love works, so why not walk this road.

Okay, looks like youre answering 'yes', a person CAN live anyway they want after trusting Christ and they will still be saved. You use the analogy that a chicken is still a chicken even if it doesn't lay any eggs to prove it. And yet so many are saying nobody here is saying that we can live anyway we want after getting saved. You are.
Again, your's not quite getting it.

That chicken CAN'T live like a fox! It's a chicken!
It may try and MIMIC a fox, but it CAN'T change what it was born to be.

So God's Children can act, OR NOT ACT in ways that he is newly born to be, but because he is inherently BORN a Child of God when he became a new creation, AND because his Heavenly Father will do what is necessary to transform him to the new life HE ALREADY HAS, he will forever remain a Child of God. That is who he is now.

Why are YOU so all consumed with this question? Why can't you accept that either someone is born again or they are not?

We preach Christ and Him crucified, and believe those that have been born again have freedom in Him. But I haven't seen a single person here in over a year say that means we have a license to sin or shouldn't do the works we are called to do.

What I HAVE seen is you, and others commit a Romans 3:8 violation:

[h=1]Romans 3:8 King James Version (KJV)[/h]8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

This just seems to me you might be judging or rather might be saying and doubting salvation for some, if not all of us. You cannot judge a person's salvation, that's not your calling nor is it mine. But we are called to encourage one another and to exhort one another and love one another and help each other when we stumble as brethren. But it's not up to you to decide who is saved and/or not saved. If you're saved, then that's between you and the Lord, He knows your heart, and He knows mine. AND THIS THREAD IS ABOUT WORKS. And if you are saved, WORKS ARE GOING TO BEAR OUT. Good works of Christ that is.

Hi NNM.

You appear to have a good heart, yet you want to say walking righteously is not
important and part of our communion with Christ.

I understand you feel you were self righteously justified, and now see Jesus's love
and how it blows us away. It is this that empowers our walk, yet you want to
make enemies of people who testify to this love and power.

If we agree about this love and its power, we have no divide.
I suspect some hide their rebellion and bitterness in this claim of grace with no conditions.
because it appears they have no care for the consequences of a sinful life style.
Sorting out ones heart is key to being born again, but for many they have just missed this
aspect of spiritual reality. Many will stay hard hearted and caught by their lives, but they
are what they are. Without a desire to let Jesus heal and sort things out, nothing will change.

This has never been about self righteousness, but about knowing who God is and how love
works.

I find it funny he has never (Thats I know of) answered if we must maintain our salvation or it will be lost. But then demand we answer a question. (Hypocritical much?)

As for his question.

1 john 2: Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

1 John 3:
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

so we see.
1. Whoever lives in sin has never seen God or known him
2. Whoever is born of God can not live in sin. Because he has been born of God
3. Can a believer live as he wants? Yes, A Believer will NEVER want to live in sin, in fact he can’t because he has been born of God, he has truly repented. So his desire is to please his savior and his Father, and when he commits a sin, He is sorrowful, because he has let him down.

Of course, He will twist what I said, which is why I have him on ignore.. it is just not worth it anymore.

I did NOT say recognizing sin is ugly , I said SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS is ugly
I see my own sin all the time , and recognize it

There is a distinction between salvation and our Christian walk , we are declared righteous by placing our faith in what Christ has DONE for us

I also did not say that we should not live holy lives , and let our light shine for the world to see
But remember , we will always fall short of Gods requirement which is PERFECTION . Thats why Jesus came to save us .
Its when we have put our faith in Jesus and the finished work which HE COMPLETED , we are declared perfect and righteous in Gods sight , not by anything we have done or will do , but ONLY because we have been given Jesus's righteousness

Many want to claim they do not encourage sin.
Do these people accept the principles of the sermon on the mount apply to us today,
here and now?

A lot of people are prepared to claim all the promises, but their biblical knowledge is so
poor, all the principle of the sermon on the mount are covered by the apostles. And the
animosity about good works, when Paul and apostles exclaim this

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 Peter 2:12

Peter is simply saying do all you can, not ignore any encouragements and ignore the
needs of others. The spirit of discouragement is not the Holy Spirit working in the heart.

"We will always fall short of Gods requirement" This is a legalists view of what God is about.

Jesus is not meeting a failure gap, which we will always need to make up the shortfall.

Without communion with love, spiritual reality in our hearts, having the Holy Spirit renew,
fill and wash us, we will always live in darkness and get things wrong.

It has never been about performance, but a living relationship with an open heart.

My experience of these short exchanges, it they have real value when we agree
scriptures. It is encouraging to read someone encouraging a holy walk with the Lord.

Believe it or not this is all I want to see, and the power of love bringing victory to
people, so the joy of the Lord can be their strength. What changed me was
exchanges with people who held various theological views as a reason to condemn
and rubbish someones whole walk with Jesus and how love as worked through their
lives. I hope and pray you are one of the encouragers, and see the blessings in
peoples enthusiasm to know more of Christ. Amen

Of course I would encourage a holy walk , we are instructed to do this , and I havent seen anyone here say otherwise , even though they have been accused of it .

Its when I see people attaching it as a requirement for salvation , and perverting the Gospel , that I get upset .

I know , sad isnt it .
yeah....

thats what i had believed at one point in time...

my belief was if you sinned
and didnt repent right after

you were hell bound until you repented again

it was all about wether or not i "repented" from my most recent sin before i died

and only when i was walking in what i believed was sinless perfection was i saved....

it was up to me

Jesus was secondary....

i didnt think about imputed righteousness
or being born again

it was more like

Jesus could wash past sins
but any sin after i learned of Him were on my record
and my repentance washed my sins after that

i looked at salvation like a revolving door

i obtained it and lost it many times a day.....

i praise God every day for breaking that false doctrine from me and opening my eyes to the self righteous people who push this

now its clear as day when i look at their fruit
and the bible has opened up to me in a whole new light

it didnt matter that i already read it more than once...
ive learned more in the past 6 months than i did the few years before it when i first heard Gods call
