I dont think they are where christians belong, i keep away from night clubbing ect. Last time i went to a club was about 2 and a half years ago and God just convicted me so much and I'll never go again.
Bars arnt too bad, clubs in my oppinion are aweful, personally i woun'dn't touch them with a barging pole. I also dont drink at all, although drunking and getting drunk (at all) is ok. But this is really toying with fire, I advice to not drink it all together or got to clubs or bars alltogether. Its all too easy to get dragged into sin.

I don't see anything wrong with drinking, per se; its intoxication that is the problem.

29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again. Prov 23:29-35 (KJV)

Psalm 101:3a - I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless.
Psalm 26:4-5 - I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.

1Corinthians 6:12
"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything.

What do you think of these verses?
I want to go out, meet others. I'm ready. However, I struggle internally with how, where and when is the right approach. I've been considering going to a nice restaurant/bar for just one drink. Just to see what happens but on the other hand, I'm afraid of opening a door I will later regret.

Just go have a drink. There is nothing saying you cannot enjoy a glass of wine or beer. You arent supposed to get drunk but if you cant control yourself from one glass of wine and not do anything crazy you have more issues than whether or not its cool to sit at a bar. I mean go to the bar at Chili's certainly that wouldnt be too hard.

That would be hard because chili's is nasty. If your gonna drink at least go somewhere good.

night clubs are deffinitly out of the question. But then again; most of your churches now days are nothing more than a rock concert...they have a girl up in tight pants and a rock band. not to mention the star bucks in the back. whoa unto America....How long will God spare thee.

A lot of people myself included get going to church because of the exact opposite. I can't stand hymns or the old-fashioned cloyingness of some churches. It's church I want to swing upbeat praise and worship. And I don't want older people looking at me questionigly because of what I wore. Seriously if you are more concerned about what people are wearing then you have a problem. And sorry upbeat praise and worship beats those slow dreary hymns any day of the week. And nightclubs arent that bad. If its one of those tat have people doing nothing but grinding on each other then yeah, but nightclubs that just have live bands and stuff? anyone saying no, is to righteous for their own good.

yes there is. When the righteousness twists into a holier than thou attitude it's a problem. And I'm sure we have all met someone like this.
