Let me know how successful you are at painless childbirth.

There are just some curses don't end until this creation ends. And the line of authority is one of them.

For example, man is immediately under Christ in the order of authority, but in the age to come he will co-reign with Christ.

Maleness and femaleness will exist until the end of the age. So until then, you go into that bathroom, and I'll go into the other one. No faith in Christ is going to dissolve that difference between the sexes in this age. Only the return of Christ will end it completely.
Okay then, now tie in: no more male or female. Then we might listen to you. Until then, we'll listen to angela.

Please excuse my answering what is not addressed to me; but I suspect Angela will agree with me.

The English Standard Version (ESV), and the New English Translation (NET).

Also The Amplified and the Complete Jewish Bible are very accurate comparatively speaking.
Thank you so much, marc! :)

The jury seems to be in on this. I officially apologize for using the word "twit". Arrogant still fits, in my opinion. "twit" was uncalled for.
Well, halfway is better than nothing ... I certainly did not get the impression the young man was being arrogant and I read every single word that he said ... Accurate, precise and confident maybe ... But arrogant ? ... I certainly did not see it ... I saw it as God has taught the young man a lot and he was not afraid to stand up to what the scripture says ... Even in the face of stones being thrown his way, he did not wither ...

Now all we must do is believe them. Not just the parts we agree with but all of the word of God.

I can't imagine a church of Bible believing christians where the men wouldn't stand up in the face of heresy. I think the argument is pure fantasy and what is described is a den of wolves in sheep clothing and not a church. She should leave because they aren't interested in the truth to begin with.

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
2 Corinthians 3:12
For instance, here he made allusion to blain not using plainness of speech

Soooo, in the last 10 months, did you all learn us mere women how to behave yet?
This remark is not only childish but indicates a lack of willingness to believe and obey the Word of God.

"Did you all learn us" would be fine if it was just people talking to people and opinions being traded back and forth. But when Scripture is share AND REJECTED OUT OF HAND, then it is clear that some Christians would rather rebel than obey. And obedience is better than sacrifice, but rebellion is as witchcraft.

The issue is not a matter of "interpretation". There is nothing to interpret when the words of Scripture are plain and clear. But that is used as an excuse to avoid certain teachings. Let each one know that we will give account for rejecting the words of God, either in this matter or in any other matter.

Gladly :)

Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

Ezekiel 13:2

To prophesy is to speak or declare the words of the LORD. For example. If one says that the word of God says "suffer not a woman to teach" that person Is prophesying by declaring the word of God. If that same person then says here is what Paul really meant and in that time period blah blah blah....then that is teaching about the word of God and that person has entered into dangerous territory (be it man or woman).

Here, he calls himself a prophet.
And then he sums up all of the more recent scholarship as to better translation and cultural context as "blah, blah, blah."

LOL, you have to wonder. Some say serpent is used as a figure of speech (inasmuch as Satan was playing the role of serpent, sneaky whispering, "slippery as a snake") and what she beheld was really magnificent.

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Ezekiel 28:13

What woman doesn't like gems :)
And here (with a smiley face no less), he ties women liking gems (I don't, so he made a blanket statement) into some nonsense about why they are drawn to satan. It's thoroughly ridiculous.

False, it is meant to convey that Paul did not speak the truth in a cryptic manner.
Here, he calls himself a prophet.
And then he sums up all of the more recent scholarship as to better translation and cultural context as "blah, blah, blah."
False again, I posted an example of what “prophesying “ really is.
And here (with a smiley face no less), he ties women liking gems (I don't, so he made a blanket statement) into some nonsense about why they are drawn to satan. It's thoroughly ridiculous.
Was Eve deceived by an ugly detestable serpent or perhaps something more appeasing to the eye. I presented evidence of the latter with some humor. Eve was deceived by the serpent nonetheless so it had something going for it.

Nehemiah, once again you are off-base. Firstly, Lynn (Depleted) is not in favour of female pastors/preachers. Secondly, she was making a humorous comment.

As for the scriptural statements regarding the roles of and restrictions on female Christians, "plainness" and "clarity" are subjective. What you think is plain and clear I do not... and it has absolutely nothing to do with rebellion. There is a hermeneutical principle which says, "If the plain sense is clear, seek no other sense." Well, to me, the plain sense is not clear so I kept digging, and found a lot of sense underneath the surface. You are, of course, free to disagree. However, your accusation of rebellion is quite unnecessary, and it comes across as arrogant and sanctimonious. Your role (as mine) is to interpret and follow the Scripture for yourself, not for everyone on the forum. Share your views, but don't beat people over the head with them.

Further, as I have stated elsewhere, we cannot not interpret Scripture. We couldn't understand a single word of it without interpreting it, just as we do with any other communication.

This occurred 2 weeks ago on a thread about numbers in the King James Bible. Angela starts out by spamming a thread by posting this 6 times in a row.

Here comes her accusation.

The accused responds

This guy really took this accusation serious!

Ok now let’s see the evidence that Angela provides.

Actually she just ignores accused and carries on.

She finally responds by assuming he is typing up his notes and pasting them the same day or hour when in fact if you follow the thread (and his other threads) he as compiled this information previously and posts them whenever he deems appropriate.
She fails to provide evidence for her accusation. This is her next post the same thread.

The accused quickly responds.

He then proceeds to post quite a bit of information to seemingly to prove a point. And Angela responds not having the sense to understand that this guy had already typed up and saved this stuff on his computer previously.

Makes the accusation again but this time calls him a liar!

At this point some of her friends enter the picture and are collectively going to do something about this copying and pasting from an uncited source. The accused responds.

And responds again.

And again

He laughs at their evidence and presents a challenge.

By this time the whole effort loses steam due to lack of evidence. This guy posted quite a bit of information and the accusers did NOT POST ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE OF ANYTHING THIS GUY HAD STOLEN FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE. Google all you want you will not find the stuff this guy was posting anywhere. A link was posted as evidence by someone other than Angela but you will not find one thing copied and pasted from that site.
See what I mean when I say some senior members here are tossing around a lot of insults ? ... And I had no idea all this was going on ... If anybody wants a clear example of "arrogance", "belligerence" and "insults" they need look no further than the senior member Angela ... Icetech has no doubt just provided the undeniable proof of this ... Be nice if all of this would stop and she would offer an apology to these two men ... She has gone way overboard, there is no doubt ...

I can attest to the truth of this post. Lynn really is sometimes a schmuck. It was in seeing my own capacity to be a schmuck that I was able to forgive lynn of her own schmuckiness.
LOL Leave it to family to agree with my schmuckiness. LOL

(And we are family, because we've been adopted by Jehovah.)

To be clear on the Yiddish definition of schmuck, as explained by a Jewish guy way back when I was young, (and cleaned up for CC purposes.) A schmuck is a person who "used the toilet" and thinks it's a Rembrandt.

lol

if im ever a schmuck

please tell me

(unless youre also a schmuck... because then i wont believe you)
I've never seen you in schmucky mode. I have a hard time believing any single person does not get in schmucky mode ever. However, since I already admitted to being a schmuck at times, tell me you wouldn't believe me, if I ever told you that you were being a schmuck. lol

You are so clever that it most often takes me a few minutes to get it. :)
That's called a one-exit joke. You're driving down the highway, and hear a joke, but it takes you until the next exit before you get it. lol

Can you say, with all certainty, you know that God does not have inspiration over prophets walking this earth at this very moment ... If not, then this young man may be one of them ... He did not say that he was ... But the point is that even if he did, you cannot prove otherwise ... So why pretend to know things you do not know ? ... That is defined as "arrogance" ... When something is not known, it should not be acknowledged as known ... That is false prophesy in itself ...

That is not any flag of England with my avatar ... It is the flag of The Templar Knights ... If you are going to criticize someone for something you should first have your facts in order ...
A sense of humour isn't your strong point is it?

This is The Knight's Templar flag. (And you would be foolish to get involved with that in the real world.)

Your's looks more like the national flag of England. St George's Cross.

and you haven't been around here long enough to know what precipitated her style of response.

Your feelings are hurt. Your sense of "Christian behavior" has been aroused.

Nobody has placed you in charge of policing this forum, or attempting to "shame" us into "better behavior" (by your standards, of course)

If you don't like the way discussions are done, you are free to move along. I've apologized as much as I intend to on this issue. If you can't get over it, drop it and move along, then that's pretty telling about YOUR true attitude.

And, for the record, your attitude matters not at all to me. Nor do your hurt feelings. I agreed that I used the wrong word in reference to Icetech, and apologized for using that word.

Now, drop it. Your self-righteousness is wearing thin.

I'll forgive her even more if she just lets me sit in her back yard surrounded by that quilt with purple seams and drink some coffee! Who knew a schmuck like lynn could make such a beautiful quilt!
That was the garden several years ago. I really do love purple, but I love eating even more, so most of the garden now is herbs and food producing plants. (And of course plants that entice bees to come and pollinate for us. And... well, I like butterflies and hummingbirds too, so some flowers.)

If you don't mind our house is a mess and I smoke, and if you're ever in South Philly, (and we live in the same neck of the woods, so you could be), let me know. It's a tiny garden. (I have photos of it in an album on this site, so you see how small it is. lol)
