On Earth As It Is In Heaven,

How many times have we all said the Lord's Prayer and how
many times have we dwelled upon what it said. In my case,
I did it for the longest time and did it by rote and it was kind of
like something on the "need to do" list. It was at a point where
my lips were moving but my mind was downtown. But with a
little reflection I came to ask myself, what is this kingdom and
what's it all about. Well if it is on earth as it is in heaven, it
must mean that heaven and all that it stands for is the Kingdom
of God. God then sent His Son to be on earth and to reveal the
kingdom to the denizens of earth. To be the example of and in
the kingdom. So the word kingdom obviously means there is a
King. So the King of our kingdom is God. But unlike earthly
kingdoms where when a king dies, the kingdom is passed on to
someone else, God however is King forever and ever. He will
not be replaced and will not retire. And in this case God is also
our Father and we are his children, those who believe in Him.
Then the prayer says "your will be done as in heaven". That is
why Jesus came. He said what you see in me, you see what is
in my Father who sent me. And most important of all, we are to
do His will and not our own. All that we do should be done by
God's will and not our own. So if I think of it a little more deeply
I find conclusively that His will leads me to a much more beautiful
place than I could ever devise for myself.
