Hebrews 12:6
King James Version

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

This verse seems to indicate that God does not love all sinners, the idea of which seemingly contradicts John 3:16. What I can deduce is that God does not love all sinners the same way, but has a different love for those who are his sons and daughters. He loves the world, but he loves his sons and daughters. I don't know if I can put it into words. I might not be right of course, but it's seemingly what these two verses when taken together indicate.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God loves everyone many don’t love him in return that’s the difference

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭

Gods Will is that all people would repent and be saved rather than perish some will love him in return

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭

Its not a failure of God to love creation but the failure is creations to love thier creator and God

The gospel is where the rubber meets the road

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:21, 23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God loves creation much of it doesn’t love him he’s been warning us of what’s coming telling us how to be saved but some refuse to hear it and others refuse to believe what they hear so they never actually do anything

There is a world that God loves, and there is a world that God hates.

The world that God loves is the children of his kingdom (Matt 13:38-40). His kingdom is his church, which are his sheep ((Matt 18:11-14) (Matt 25:32-34) (Luke 12:32) (John 3:16). (John 18:36)

The world that God hates: John 1:10, John 14:17, John 15:18-19, John 16:19-20, John 16:33, John 17:9, John 17:14, Rom 12:2, James 4:4, 2 Pet 1:4, 2 Pet 2:5, 1 John 2:15, 1 John 3:1 & 13,

If you only see eternal salvation in the salvation scriptures you will never understand the doctrine of Christ, and if you see only one world in the scriptures you will never understand the doctrine of Christ.

You were kind of on to something here. "love" is a very ambiguous English word that should probably be blotted out and replaced with more specific terms.

God has a goodwill toward all mankind that we as Christians ought to have as well; but not all of mankind will join God in brotherhood and fellowship- those who do sensibly have a closer relationship than those who do not.

I don't know if I can put it into words. I might not be right of course, but it's seemingly what these two verses when taken together indicate.
Of course God loves the saints more than the world for they are His people, and they allow Him to love them where the world opposes Him, and if they oppose Him then how can He love them the same as working in their lives for their benefit.

The Bible says the disciple that Jesus loved which He loves all the saints but He was closer to that disciple because of the disciples attitude.

God will love us differently because we respond to Him differently which some people are closer to God then other people, but He still lives all people and wants them to benefit all on the same level, but it will not happen as they will not all respond to God the same way.

God loves all people which He wants the best for all people on the same level but not all will be on the same level concerning Him because of their attitude.

The saints are to love their enemies, and feed and clothe their enemies, which means they are to want the best for them equal to anyone else regardless of how they treat the saints.

The Bible says if it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Which our level of love will be different for each person but we still have to follow peace with them.

Some people we can say hello to them but we do not want to shake their hand, or hug them, as in the case of someone being like Hitler, but we still have to follow peace with them, and want to best for them.

Some people we can shake their hand but we do not want to hug them.

And some people we can hug them.

And some people we cannot follow peace with them for it is not possible but that is not the fault of the saint, or it should not be if they act right, but that is the fault of the person opposing them.

God does want for us to show all people the same external closeness, and getting along but He knows that will not happen so we are to follow peace with all men, as much as lies in us.

So God loves all people but His level of being close to people will be on a different level according to their attitude.

The saints He is closer to them than the world so they would benefit more than the world, but He loves all people to want the best for all people.

Like a man and a woman have a love that is closer then the world so they would favor each other more for that being dedicated to care about the needs of each other nothing wavering.

Of course in today's society that is highly elevated in selfishness, and arrogance, it does not happen as much as it did years ago, and in America the counter culture movement caused it to decrease causing an uprise of a high level in selfishness, greediness, arrogance, wanting to have their own way, so that will be in the marriages for that is part of the American system now.

The American businesses cannot have enough money as they collect money so they will rip and gyp as much as possible so they can collect more money.

The politicians fight, and belittle each other, testifying that the whole system is based on fighting, belittling, and individual exaltation.

Which Americans fight, and belittle each other more than any other nation on earth, and the internet is ground zero wanting to fight, and belittle, just for the sake of doing it having developed that personality according to the operation of America.

They fight, and belittle each other more than any other nation between husbands and wives, men and women, parents and children, teachers and students, the people who claim Christianity, politicians, and in general all around rooten tooten fighting.

You get the picture which that is the way the American system operates.

You will not see any other nation fighting, and belittling each other like in America.

People will cry about women they call Karens because of the way they lash out at people, but the American society created them.

They created the monster and then they cry about the monster.

Because when a so called Karen has a confrontation with a person the only thing they can think about is that person does not care about her, and her feelings, and only cares about themselves, that they are selfish, and arrogant, basically only caring about themselves, so they want to lash out at them.

What do people think these Karens just got released from a mental institution and they are running amuck on the cities.

No, it is the American society that created them, and people will go against them and cannot even figure it out why they act like that but only want to belittle them.

But of course they probably do not want to figure it out for they like to belittle people anyway for they are terrible as the Karens believe.

You American society created the Karens so now you can deal with them.

The same with the Woke movement that because of the way the American society behaves in their attitude it caused the youth/young adults, to feel insecure, and have low self esteem, so they do not feel important in society, and a nobody.

So they embrace the Woke movement and go against mainstream society to boost their ego saying we are good, and better, and you are bad, because they need it so much.

They want attention, and to feel important, and they cannot go along with mainstream society because they would be another face in the crowd, a dime a dozen, just one of the fellas, and that would not be enough to boost ego.

But these people are people that do not get anywhere in society, and basically struggle, so they never achieve the ego booster they are craving, so it is off to Woke land for them.

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭

Jesus died so anyone can be saved if they believe because God loves his creation , the problem is many don’t love him when they are rejected of him it’s because they first rejected him

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Gods failure to love his creation has never been the issue, the creations failure to love him in return has always been the issue and still is what will define it when people hear the gospel that he died for thier sins and rose up again for those justification …..that he is the son of God the messiah our Lord

awe have to hear and believe the gospel he only did what he did because he loves mankind he always has we’ve just always rebelled and provoked his anger and became corrupt it’s man’s failures always has been

It’s like saying a father doesn’t love both of his children because one of them is a rebel and won’t hear anything the father tells him and always goes against it all

the reason the dether doesn’t just cut the rebellious son off is because he loves him he’s trying to get through to his son telling him “ the path you are on is certainly going to end in death turn back to me come home “

The father always loved his wayward child even when he took his early inheritance and spent it all on prostitutes and wild living and wastes all of it the moment his son came to his senses and repented and headed for home he comes running with open arms to meet us in the world he’s trying to save us from the evil that’s in this world

But the ones who never repent and come home it eas never because the father failed to love them it was because they failed to respond to it they rejected it all they chose the worlds lusts and evils over thier fathers home

God assuredly lives sinners Jesus dying for the worlds sin is all the proof I need that he loves us all . Obviously all of men don’t love Jesus or even acknowledge he ever existed many simply don’t want to hear his name or his message in this world but the gospel is here to find his people everyone is loves not everyone loves

first of all, the scriptures must all harmonize if we are to understand the truth of Christ's doctrine

Eternal deliverance was accomplished on the cross for all of the people that God gave to his Son, it is finished, and Jesus said that he will lose none, but raise them up at the last day (John 6:37-40) Jesus's sacrifice on the cross was to redeem those that his Father gave him, from their sins, and secure them the promise of an inheritance of eternal heaven.

Hearing and believing will not save=deliver anyone eternally. It will, however, deliver those that were saved eternally, from their ignorance of the gospel, as they sojourn here on earth. (1 Tim 2:4) (Rom 10:1-3)

The "we" and "us" in this scripture, in order to keep it in context, are those who have passed from death to life, Verse 14.

God's sheep are his children. You have a lot of kind words, but you are wrong about God wanting to save the whole world of humanity. That is saying that God does not have the power to save them. God has all power, and no one can resist his will. (Dan 4:35).

Well, God is love... perhaps love is the correct word (I don't know what it originally said) and it just makes sense in the nuance of the language.

You have a lot of kind words, but you are wrong about God wanting to save the whole world of humanity. That is saying that God does not have the power to save them. God has all power, and no one can resist his will. (Dan 4:35).
What is actually being said, is that God does not force you to believe or to be saved.

That, would be a false interpretation of Scripture.

The whosoever will of John 3:16, means anyone and not except for......

Jesus died for the whole world...that IS in scripture and not just those who interpret the word predestination in a way that suggests we have no choice should we become a Christian. The Bible says FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD...does not say only the 'regeneerate'

I might not be right of course, but it's seemingly what these two verses when taken together indicate.
you become God's 'son/daughter' when you accept Christ and that is who the verse is referring to. there is no contradiction at all. besides, why would you try to identify these verses as co-joined? they are not. context gives the clear meaning here. :)

Well the language in Hebrews 12:6 is exclusionary about who God loves, but John 3:16 says "for God so loved the world", so I guess it makes sense to me that God loves his sons and daughters in an exclusive way, but also loves the world. Also I think you're adopted (if I put that right) as a son or daughter of God when you believe in Jesus, not when you accept Him. I don't get the whole "accept Jesus" language that is prevalent and it is troubling to me as it seems to sideline believing in the Lord.
