This is a popular teaching by many if not most churches even what was predicted Rev 12:17, but it is not what Jesus or the disciples taught. Jesus did not die for our sins we can now worship other gods, bow to images, vain God's name, profane His holy Sabbath, covet, murder, steal or break the least of these commandments thus saith Jesus Mat 5:19-30

Fist we need to understand God's covenant. In all of God's Word the Ten Commandments is not called the "Mosaic Covenant" God identifies the Ten Commandments as "My covenant" God alone is writing the Ten Commandments with His own finger Exo 32:16 Exo 31:18 , this is His works, not Moses. The Ten Commandments was placed inside the ark of the covenant and the earthy temple was a copy of God's heavenly Temple where His covenant resides Rev 11:19 under His mercy seat where justice and grace come together and why not one jot or tittle can be removed as it is what we will be judged by. James 2:10-12 Ecc 12:13-14 Mat 5:19-30 Rev 22:14-15

Deut 4:13 So He (God) declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

Exo 34:28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He (God) wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

Exo 32:16 16 The tablets were the work of God; the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.

Deut 5:22 “These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and He added no more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

No wonder all of the Ten Commandments were kept and taught by Jesus in the New Covenant as it is still what defines sin when broken Rom 7:7 breaking one we break them all James 2:10-12 and how we are to love God and neighbor. 1 John 5:2-3, Romans 13:9 John 14:15 Exo 20:6

There are no teachings by Jesus or the apostles we can break the Ten Commandments. They were kept faithfully by Jesus and He taught not to break the least of these as it effects our status in heaven as it shows He does not reside in us John 14:15-18 Rom 8:7-8. The commandments are not meant to save only Jesus saves through faith - keeping the commandments shows we live by faith and by every Word. Mat 4:4 and He lives in us John 14:15-18 who enables us to keep His commandments and when Jesus enters us we want to obey everything He asks of us because we love Him. God's people will keep His law faithfully until He returns Rev 14:12 Rev 22:14
God spoke the ten commandments to Israel.

Exodus 20

1 Then God spoke all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

3 You shall have no other gods before Me.

Gentiles were not in the house of slavery, Egypt.

Why is this important?

Exodus 24:7-8
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it as the people listened; and they said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!” So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.

There is no doubt, Israel was bound under the covenant to obey the ten words.

That is why the legalists emphasize God writing the ten commandments on stone. To separate the ten words from the rest of the law. Unfortunately for the legalists, God spoke the ten words in Exodus 20.

All that the Lord has spoken we will do!

It is quite clear that Jesus, the Jews, the disciples, Paul followed the commandments, even in the O.T. we find;

Exo 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
As I explained in the O.P the Commandments are set apart and are forever, this includes the last day of the week sabbath fourth Commandment.

Gradually after all of the apostles died of the N.T. the sabbath day was changed to the lord's day or Sunday worship, the earliest I found was in the mid second century in Italy where they observed Sunday sabbath. The major change occurred in 321 A.D. Constantine made Sunday sabbath worship into a law.

There is no biblical evidence for Sunday worship, None of the 8 verses containing "first day of the week" say that the apostles stopped observing the sabbath and observed the Sunday as the day of sabbath.

as for Act 20:7 the sabbath start is from Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at sundown;
Act 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Act 20:8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
Act 20:9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

The first day of the week started Saturday just after sunset, this is what is described a meeting and they broke bread until midnight late at night on the first day of the week, it does not say they did not observe the sabbath but that they continued to worship late at night on the first day of the week.

The "lord's Day" is mentioned only once in the Bible in;
Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
some cross reference for this verse are;
Matthew 12:8
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath
Lord of the sabbath day or "Lord's day"

same for Luke 6:5 ;"And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
For verse, 1 cor 16:2;

1Co 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
1Co 16:3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.
1Co 16:4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

Where does it mention a sabbath day? A collection for the saints to be brought to Jerusalem is mentioned not sabbath rest Paul even said not to gather when he comes....

There is No evidence in the N.T that the Sabbath was moved from Saturday to Sunday. It is Men who changed the law of GOD.
I struggle to understand your post. The Sabbath day was honored in Israel and never changed.

The Sabbath day was a day of rest, the seventh day. You don't gather to break bread on the Sabbath day.
I repeat, the Sabbath day was a day of rest. The Christian first day was the day for breaking the bread.
The Christian first day was not a day of rest until Constantine.

The Roman world did not have a day of rest, not until Constantine gave the Roman world a day off.

The people of the Roman empire worked 7 days a week.

Act 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

They came together at the end of the day.

Because Jesus rose on the first day of the week, this does not make it God's holy day. Jesus rose that day because He was resting on the sabbath. There is no biblical truth to show that the first day is the Lords day but there are verses that show that the seventh day sabbath is the Lords' day. Mark 2:28, Ex 20, Isa 58:13. You are following tradition.

The names of the day's mean little, but what the Lord says is what counts. God said Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Sabbath day was given to Israel.

The Gentiles knew nothing of the Sabbath day or any other commandment.

The Gentiles did not even know God.

Paul told you this.

Israel is a name God gave to identify His people. It is both literal and metaphorically so we always know where God's people are in scripture. Sadly most rebelled, just like most of us do today and why we are told not to follow their path of disobedience. Heb 3:7-8 Heb 4:11

The Ten Commandments was God's law long before Mt Sinai. God calls the Ten Commandments "My covenant" Deut 4:13 Mat 34:28 God alone wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger Exo 31:18 Exo 32:16

The earthy temple was a miniature of God's heavenly Temple Heb 8:1-5 and the Ten Commandments is under Christ's mercy seat guarded by two Cherubs. Exodus 25:20 Lucifer was one of those Cherubs until iniquity (sin) was found in his heart. Eze 28:14 so God's law has always existed because it reflects His character, which we are to take on. Lucifer sinned in heaven 1 John 3:8 as where there is no law there is no transgression Romans 4:15 so God's law always existed which is why the ark is in heaven Rev 11:19 and why Adam and Eve sinned because they were given God's law and why Cain knew it was murder to kill Abel because he was given God's law. No law, no sin.

God did do something different with the nation of Israel who represents His people instead of giving God's law individually He spoke it to a whole nation and wrote it with His own finger- this shows His great Authority that no human can remove one jot or tittle as no one is above God.

The New Covenant is still made with God's Israel - where there is no Jew or Gentile just God's people grafted in through faith Gal 3:26-28, just like Ruth was in the OC. The New Covenant is established on better promises Heb 8:6 not better or new laws as it has God now writing His law in our hearts and mind Heb 8:10 and He gives us the power to obey Him when we don't have a harden heart that is hostile to God's law Rom 8:7-8. Jesus resides in us and gives us the power to obey Him through love and faith- we just need to cooperate John 14:15-18

I don't know.

Israel gathered on the Sabbath and it appears that was the key day for preaching.

When Jesus was at the temple preaching that was often on the Sabbath.

Also, we find Paul preaching to the Jews on the Sabbath day.

I would be interested to know.
New King James Version
Luke 19:47;
And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him,

The Gentiles did not even know God.

Paul told you this.
The commandments were first given to GOD's chosen people but were given also for everyone here is the undeniable proof;

The Great Commission
Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Mat 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Peter was also appointed to go to the gentiles;
New King James Version
And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

This is what Jesus said about the commandments that he was teaching DAILY;
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Yes, the question was asked, in Jesus times how did they, Jesus, Paul, the disciples keep the sabbath, what did
they do exactly?
And my answer included a number of verses saying that Jesus taught on the Sabbath. I doubt
He was idle the other six days of the week in that regard.
Luke 21:37a says: Every day Jesus taught at the temple,
Ah! I see @vassal has that covered

Arguments arise about the relevance of the 10 Commandments and the Law of Moses. I would like to explain here the differences between the two based on scripture (KJV).

The Ten Commandments

First, the 10 Commandments that were given by GOD, were written by the finger of GOD himself on tables of stone;

Peace
consider what this referring to

“For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (for they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: and so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) but ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:18-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s saying you have not come to this covenant word would you agree he’s referencing this ?

“And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19:16-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:1-4, 7-9, 12-19, 21‬ ‭

isnt it fair to say that clearly that’s what’s being said here as well how the new covenant isn’t going to be given according to the words of the one from Sinai ?

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

do you think there’s any validity to the idea that “ten thou shalt nots “ could never teach anyone the right things to actually do to worship God ? But instead it would be what you’d tell this group of folks ?

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“thou shalt not kill you murdererous people “

Or “ thou shalt not kill thou new born innocent babe born with Gods spirit ? “

a Thou shalt not commit adultery thou hard hearted adulterous covetous people “

Or thou shalt not commit adultery thou new born beloved and faithful children who believe in Jesus and who taught you to be faithful and honor your spouses and stand firm to the end of marriage “

Note this wasn’t taught to those folks the law is for

“for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Just as we haven’t come to Mount Sinai covenant word that entrenched them with terror and drove them away from him

We have come to the new covenant word spoken by the Lord himself which holds far better promises and far better longevity

Your failing to acknolwedge the difference in the law and gospel

Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

The law and the prophets were until John:

since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus never sent the law of moses to anyone he sent his words to everyone the words Jesus spoke when he was born and later annointed to preach the gospel of salvation

Look at the ordination and mediation of the law

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law was ordained of angels after they worshipped the calf and was given into Moses hands for mediation when the people rejected hesring any more of Gods word and made Moses the mediator the new covenant is ordwined by the Father , mediated by the son and fulfilled by the spirit and God is one I like the ordination of angels and mediation of Moses who is a servant and witness of the lord Jesus.

The new covenant isn’t God - an angel - moses - the children of Israel

its this instead

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He wants us to know the truth because it saves

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christian’s who hear the gospel and follow Jesus word aren’t going to kill people so telling them “ thou shalt not kill “ is pointless instead they are learning how to express Gods love to others not how to stone a man gathering sticks in a sabbath but how to forgive sinners who offend them , how to share with the needy , how to forgive and forget and how to not look at people with bad intentions and motives lustful thoughts or intents how God actually does want us to live life rather than telling us what not to do

We aren’t supposed to live the way Moses taught in Christ it sounds wrong but if you examine the Ten Commandments you’ll see Moses law is structured very precisely built upon ten sections of laws regarding the commandments the Ten Commandments are th e foundation of Moses mediation of them tonthe people

The covenant law is thou shalt not do this thou shalt not do that …. The mediation is moses law of ordinance and social structure and everything in the entire book of Moses is a whole we can’t seperate the Ten Commandments from the ordinances built on them it all has that negative aspect Thou shalt not do this thou shalt not do that because it’s intended not for repentance born again Christian’s it’s for those without repentance or new birth of spirit

Even what Moses wrote about the ten thou shalt nots is a witness against those under the ten thou shalt nots

It’s structured as it is because it’s for this purpose not salvation but this reason

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law is about showing what sin is and that it’s death it’s meant that when we start hearing the law it’s going to point to our sins and leave us without any excuse or justification before a holy God it’s going to leave any honest person guilty and condemned before God proving his righteousness and holiness above us

In Matthew 28 Jesus is sending out the gospel not the law

He preached daily in the temple because the temple was like the malls of the 90's: that's where the people were. That's also where people who wanted to know more about God would gather.

Also ~ Mark 14:49 "Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you
did not arrest Me. But this has happened that the Scriptures would be fulfilled."

Luke 19:47 Jesus was teaching at the temple every day, but the chief
priests, scribes, and leaders of the people were intent on killing Him.

If the ten commandments are the same as, 'whatsoever I have commanded you'.

Then you have a serious problem in your interpretation.

The Roman Empire worked seven days a week, no day off.

The Roman Empire was not given a day off until 321 AD, Constantine.

Which means a Roman citizen was unable to rest on the seventh day.

Israel was the only country that had a rest day.

Please explain how you reconcile this problem?

Your failing to acknolwedge the difference in the law and gospel

Mat 28:16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
Amen.”

In Matthew 28 Jesus is sending out the gospel not the law
you wrote: ""In Matthew 28 Jesus is sending out the gospel not the law""

And what gospel was that? Jesus was sent to preach repentance and the Kingdom of heaven! (1) First to the Jews, then to the gentiles. Repentance, from what? from sin as defined by the commandments! Jesus and his followers and disciples were with him every day, he was also teaching the commandments, The disciples and Paul, yes Paul (2) were imitators of Christ so yes, they preached the kingdom of Heaven and repentance to the gentiles and all the rest Jesus taught them including the commandments! (3)

(1) Mat 4:12 When Jesus heard that John had been imprisoned, He withdrew to Galilee.
Mat 4:13 Leaving Nazareth, He went and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
Mat 4:14 to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
Mat 4:15 Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles
Mat 4:16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”
Mat 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

Note:What the Bible says about Galilee of the Gentiles
(From Forerunner Commentary)

Isaiah 8:20

Isaiah wrote after the fall of Israel to Assyria. The Assyrians' attack on the land of Zebulun and Naphtali, in the northern part of Israel, came in two waves. The first "distress" resulted in the deportation of some Israelites. The second oppression was much heavier, resulting in the deportation of virtually everyone. Then, the Assyrians imported Gentile peoples to the area of Zebulon and Naphtali, the area of Galilee. Their descendents—the Samaritans—heavily populated Galilee in Christ's day.

(2) 1Co 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

(3) Mrk 10:19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.’”
Mrk 10:20 “Teacher,” he replied, “all these I have kept from my youth.”

The commandments were first given to GOD's chosen people but were given also for everyone here is the undeniable proof;

Amen.

Peter was also appointed to go to the gentiles;
New King James Version
And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

This is what Jesus said about the commandments that he was teaching DAILY;
You believe that Adam and Eve were given the ten commandments.

You believe Adam and Eve honored the Sabbath commandment.

So how can the 10 commandments be given to God's chosen people, when they already had the ten commandments?

You did not answer the question.

How can a Sabbath commandment be applied to the nations of the Roman Empire. When the nations in the Roman Empire did not have a day off?

Also, why would those people at Mt Sinai be given a commandment, that they already had in Genesis 2?

There is a serious problem in your interpretation.
